  • Girl... why don't you just consider you lost 5 pounds the first week (which is increadibly good !!!) and stayed there this week ? That's not too bad said this way, is it ? Maybe you just ate a little more salt in the last 2 days and you are hanging the water. Don't get discourage and keep focusing on developing an…
  • MFP set your protein goal to a certain % of total calories. However, to me, you should still eat a certain quantity of protein every day even when restricting your calories. Just because someone is counting calories doesn't mean that she suddenly needs less protein. If you eat too much protein, yes, you will "reject"…
  • That's cool !!! I'll have to try it. Thanks for sharing !
  • Hey thanks Jenn !
  • By default, MFP will set your daily protein goal to 15% of your calories but you can override these defaults if you feel you are doing great consuming 20% (mine is set to 25% ). This way you won't constantly feel you're going over :)
  • Thanks for the kind words ladies and congratulations with the weigh loss ! Angela - sorry to read you got a negative result. But hey ! it takes practice  And no, I didn't contact my doctor to discuss the medication. In fact, I should have taken an appointement for January and I haven't yet. When I saw him in late…
  • Are you serious ? So I should not plug in the numbers from my HRM before I lower them based on the duration of the exercice ??? Gosh, I used to eat about 2000 calories but at this rate I'll be barely eating 1200 by Spring !
  • Hello Ladies ! Hope everyone is doing fine. I'm a little sad this morning so thougt I'd drop a line. I'm having an hard time figuring out my fertile days... even if charting basal temperature and doing OPK tests. I've been taking medecine (Metformin) since November to regulate my cycles and improve ovulation. Last 2 cycles…
  • I have an F7 which cames with a user guide with F6 printed on it so lets give it a try  Click the main button. Scroll down to Settings, and again down to User. That's where you can set your weight, height, birtthday, sex, HR max, HR sit and V02 Max. These are all manuela settings, so you must know them before hand.…
  • Thats sounds pretty vast to say too much carbs is what makes sick... Is it too much sugar ? Or maybe gluten ?
  • I'm 5'5, 116 lbs and maintaining  I find it hard to tell what size I wear though as it varies a lot from brand to brand. I'm usually size a 4 or 5 but can be a 6 or a 3 too !
  • DVDs are great, and complete programs do fantastic for people like me who don't want to have to wonder "what should I be doing today ?" since they come with a schedule. I did Turbo Jam for about 10 months and got great abs with it. Now I'm doing Brazil Butt Lift and can already feel the legs getting stronger. Both programs…
  • I've read that the F6 Will Soon be Discontinued. The newer F7 is replacing it. The F7 comes with Wearlink+ chest strap (more comfortable and has changeable batteries) it also has a more accurate OwnZone feature. I have a Polar F7 and I'm pretty happy with it !

  • Some time ago, someone here recommended the following website: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp Works great ! You enter the various food in your recipe then indicate how many portions/servings that is and boum ! it tells you all the secrets behind your dish
  • Best of all Azdak is you wont even have back pain tomorrow :)
  • Normally, your carbs, fat and protein should go up as you get some exercice calories in the same proportions set in you goal. Sugar, sodium, fiber, calcium, etc. aren't set as % of total calories so once you reach your daily maximum, it won't increase even though you exercice. That being said, I guess it means you are…
  • Belle84, I am not sure I have PCOS but I've been taking Metformin for 2 months. The first month I lost almost 5 pounds (even though I didn't really had any weight to lose). It seems to be helping getting more regular.
  • Happy New Year Ladies ! I'm with you girls and really really hope 2010 will be the year we finally start our familly. That's what I wish us all for the new year :flowerforyou:

  • Hey ! I got the same Christmas gift  I was surprised to see how little I burn during my workout. I know we all have that tendency to over-estimate what we burn but I thought I had done serious investigation before plugging in my numbers. I haven't try wearing it while not working out but sounds like a good idea.…
  • Girls, I completely understand. I long feared to quit because I was afraid I'd gain weight and, well, the first ime around, I did gain about 10 pounds in 6 months. I didn't pay any attention to what I ate and didn't chance a thing to my lifestyle. That completely depressed me and I started smoking again, thinking those…
  • I think having a good, filling, satisfying breakfast gives you great energy to get the day going and reduces cravings for the rest of the day. Breakfast is usually between 500-700 calories for me !
  • How about changing your workout routine ?

  • How about getting some nutrients and calories from juices ? Instead of drinking a diet pop at lunch, you could have a fruit or veggie juice. You can also hadd berries to your morning cereals. Small frequent snacks might work better for you than big meals 3 times a day. You should try to eat at least 5 portions of fruits…
  • Well done savvystephy ! I weighted myself too a few minutes ago and I'm a little worry now :indifferent: I lost 2 pounds since last Sunday, even though I re-adjusted my goal to maintenance and ate a daily average of 2000 calories this last week (that's 200 more than what I used to eat). Even when trying really hard, I…
  • Challenge also completed for me ! (though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here :ohwell: ) I did 50 minutes Cardio Interval with Tony Horton + 20 minutes abs exercices. Have a great and happy day ladies !
  • I also think body fat % is a far better indication then weight, which fluctuates constantly and can vary a lot form one person to the other for various reasons. I think setting a goal is just a way to stay focus. Day to day, it doesn't make a big difference if you're 20 pounds from your goal or only 5 - you're still aiming…
  • Hi girls ! I'm Nathalie, French canadian (sorry for all the misspelling !), and 5'4". I don't really need to lose weight since I'm now at 116 and that suits. Keeping a journal lowers my weight-food-stress though so I keep coming here daily. I'm now also paying closer attention to sodium, fiber and calcium and without a…
  • How about home made pop corn ? i.e. grains you pop in the microwave without butter/oil or added salt ? OK, maybe no the tastiest thing but it's VERY economical, and you can have a big bag full of it before it starts to count in terms of calories.
  • I'm also proof it's definitely doable  I quit smoking 10 months ago. I didn't gain any weight and have even lost almost 15 poubds now. It was my second time seriously trying to stop. The first time I stupidely went back to smoking after 6 months because I was depressed by the weight I had put on. Of course, smoking…
