Science is providing too much information. People no longer eat like people.
-
IN for a good round of spicy bloody maries. Marys? Maries? Howinell do you spell that in plural?
-
Exactly. I was simply trying to give accurate information as applies to the situation in a realistic way, as would apply to a person who really was trying to lose weight. I lost 40 pounds and have kept it off successfully for two years. How you doin'?
-
that has nothing to do with the post I was reply to at all.

Eat Thanksgiving food, then eat regular diet at a deficit. Liver will cleanse, kidneys will filter. No cleanse needed.

Nope. I actually don't exercise at all, and if I want a donut, I eat one, and account for it in my calorie goal for the day. However, I was simply addressing the one-time scenario presented by the OP in her original post which was only this: walking around a store in order to burn enough calories to account for the…

You are not eating enough if you are going to exercise as well. 1200 calories per day isn't enough for exercising along with your daily life. You certainly aren't going to gain weight, and a yogurt and a couple of bananas to bring you 1200 calories is not a binge. The suggestion someone gave to find a BED group is a good…

As someone who suffers from a disease of the brain, I can attest to how difficult it can be to have people (often very well-meaning people) come to me and offer up the latest 'cure' or 'treatment'. I get emails, texts, and tags on Facebook a couple of times a week at least with a new idea. The problem is that the…

Sorry, I didn't. I didn't post anything based on laps, or anything like that. My post simply stated that the OP would have to walk at a pace quick enough to raise her heart rate, and that she would have to walk for more than an hour to burn off enough calories to earn that doughnut. Since the average doughnut is well over…

I don't think there's any reason to be hostile to other posters who are trying to help in this thread. The point is that while the OP may not know right now how many calories are in some of those BLTs, there are ways to figure that out and account for them. And if they fit into a person's daily calorie goal, the person is…

While you are worried about bingeing, be careful that you don't undereat. Letting yourself eat the other half of the noodles when you were actually feeling hungry was good. You weren't just craving and bingeing, you were eating a regular serving because you were hungry. You would have been way too low on your calories if…

That is unfortunate! I got my biggest with a bow. Best feeling ever!

You. I like you.

I've shot several. The horned ones, I mounted on the wall.

I'm all for participating in good fun. But my post was meant in all earnestness, and you responded with name calling. In the more humorous posts, I'll join right in, but I hadn't done that here. And I'll say that even when joining in with the jokes, name calling is never an acceptable part of it. Save the children's songs…

Your spambot is malfunctioning.

Don't get caught up in trying to buy all 'healthy' foods and the like. You'll end up feeling deprived and craving foods you like. Buy things you like, but if you can, buy single-size portions, or when you cook your meals, only cook enough for one portion.
-
All names... name calling. That's a pretty rude way to treat someone who is simply trying to help based on your original post.
-
It's Bites, Licks, and Tastes. And if it's nauseating you, you aren't understanding what it means. It simply refers to anytime you taste something you're cooking, take a sample at the store, have a piece of cheese at a party.
-
No need for rudeness and name-calling, OP. The point is that you have to account for your calories. While it might have been a one-time thing that you were discussing, you are the one that brought up the point about walking being enough to make up for eating a doughnut. Anyone who just came in to actually find out about…

Yes.

This was my thought, exactly! we can't get wrapped up in outlawing everything that might pose a risk to a few people, when a warning that they should be looking for in the first place should be more than sufficient.

when I see 'chicken style' on the package, that pretty much tells me that this is not chicken. Especially when I've always only seen Quorn in the vegetarian/organic/specialty sections in the store and not the meat section.

You can't out-exercise a bad diet. You have to walk at a very brisk pace to get your heart pumping, and then you'd still have to walk for well over an hour at that pace to earn that doughnut.
-
Have you logged the foods in your diary yet? Make sure you know where you are in regards to your calorie goal before you panic. And you can't out-exercise a bad diet, so don't look at eating that way. If you eat over your calorie goal once in a while, it's not the end of the world.

Go to dinner with your boyfriend. I'd bet that your bingeing episodes happen when you are alone. Focus on eating in a normal fashion. As far as bingeing episodes, when you feel one coming on, try to find something else to do. Especially something involving other people.

so you missed my post with research linked to prove that this is wrong.
-
What will you eat when you are done with the 'cleanse'? You won't have learned anything new, so you will go back to your old eating habits which are the reason you gained weight in the first place. You will regain the water weight you lost with the 'cleanse', and continue to gain weight as you were doing with your old…

Take a class. It can fill your time so you cannot eat and you can learn some new skills.
