  • Hi all. I have also been away from MFP for a while but am back. We have 3 cruises booked including our first river cruise this summer with Viking, the Celebrity Silhouette in Dec 2014 and a B2B on the Celebrity Summit in March 2015. Happy cruising all and I look forward to helping make this forum more active!
  • Fantastic results! Congrats and all your hard work has paid off!!
  • I live in the burbs outside the city with the crack smoking, drunk driving mayor. It is fast becoming a sad story.... I am on here daily so feel free to add me.
  • Hi from Ontario! We have spent a week touring the Rock and it is truly amazing! Strongly recommend everyone visit. Gros Morne should be on everyone's bucket list. We hope to go back one day to see the icebergs. We would also love to ski Marble Mountain. I am always looking for new MFP friends so feel free to add me. Jerry
  • Hi Joanne. If you click on anyone's screen name, you will see an option to "add friend". Just send a short intro note and there are lots of great people on this site willing to assist. Keep motivated and reach those goals!
  • Hi all. After being here for well over a year I left for months and gained a few......now I am back. I am a 50 yr old male, happily married for 25 yrs, and you will find me on here every day. Best of luck on your journey and feel free to add me if you are looking for ongoing support.
  • Hi Daisy and welcome! The MFP calculations would be before any exercise calories. You should still be able to achieve your goals if you eat back your exercise calories but not everyone does. Not sure how long you have been doing this routine to see what your results have been so far. If you do not eat enough your body will…
  • Welcome Kristina! MFP is a great site. The ability to track all you eat and all of your exercise will help you to success. I was on this site for over a year, then suddenly stopped for about 6 months. I have been back for a few weeks now and am back on track. I track all my food daily (and make sure you measure / weigh…
  • Well that is easy.....cruise without the kids :)
  • Hi all. I just found and joined this group. We have done 8 cruises to date on numerous cruise lines. We have sailed the Caribbean (eastern, western & southern), Bermuda and the Mediterranean. We also like to travel in general so not all trips involve a boat. Earlier this year we spent 3 weeks in France to celebrate our…
  • Hi all. I hit 50 earlier this year. After tracking everything daily for over a year, I took a break for a few months. Now I am back on MFP daily. I am in Canada and always looking for new friends to support each other so please feel free to add me.
  • I am going to suggest the exact opposite of earlier advice you received. I had plateaued and no l=mater what I did i could not lose additional weight. Then I did 2 things: 1. My personal trainer suggested interval training....change up your exercise to shock your body (change the type of exercise, the level, intensity,…
  • Welcome to MFP and best of luck to you! I am just down the highway in Ontario. Friend request sent....
  • Welcome, I am also from Southern Ontario and have been here for 4 months or so. Tracking the foods really is eye opening and it does work. Best of luck and feel free to add me.
  • Congrats to all on the great results!! Personally, I was down 6.2 lbs in this 2nd round after a 12 lb loss in round one. So a total loss of 18.2 lbs for the 2 rounds. I would also be in for another ound however we are heading out on vacation on Tuesday for a couple of weeks so will have to join back in mid-round. Good luck…
  • Great results and you have earned that vacation!! I am also on vacation next week so counting the calories and the days.....
  • Congrats to everyone with a loss this past week.....your results are very motivating!! For myself, I stayed on track calorie wise and I hit the gym 5 days which all resulted in.......a small loss of 0.6 lbs but a loss is a loss and I will take it. After losing 12 lbs in the original challenge, things certainly slowed /…
  • Congrats! Great achievement!!
  • Great attitude. As I have learned recently it is not a sprint to the results we all want. Stay focused and it will payoff!! Last week I had indicated that I gained 1.5 lbs and I had gained 0.5 lbs the week prior. I had been well below my calorie goal daily and have been consistent in my workouts with 2500 - 3000 calories…
  • Well I will be 50 next year so not quite there yet. I joined MFP in May of this year and with a combination of monitoring closely what I eat, drinking lots of water, and hitting the gym 4-5 times each week (with a 500+ calorie burn each trip), I am down 24 lbs in under 3 months. So to answer your question, you can…
  • Looks like we are still at about 50/50 as to whether to count it. Personally, I drink 2-3 cups of black tea daily (sometimes more). Since joining MFP I also drink 7-9 cups of water daily. I do not typically count the tea but I consider it a bonus in addition to the water intake......but I don't have any real reason I don't…
  • Congrats to all who had losses last week. Personally. for May and June things went well for me and I lost approx 24 lbs. So far this second round of the challenge has been, well, a challenge. Despite having a +/- 2500 calorie deficit for each of the 3 weeks to date (roughly equal to my exercise calories each week), I have…
  • Welcome Peter! I have been on MFP since May 13 and I can say it does work. It is as simple as tracking calories in, tracking exercize calories and making sure you drink lots of water. I can say if you are self motivated, you will have success. But it is up to you. If you are self motivated and want support, then feel free…
  • Congrats to those of you with losses this week!! I had what I thought was a great week with 5 trips to the gym and a day on the golf course so I burnt over 3,600 exercise calories this week. I also stayed within my calorie goal every day.....however for most of the week I was up almost 3 lbs. By weigh in today I was back…
  • You have worked extremely hard to lose what you have. Reward yourself with some of the new clothes that you need....it feels good and shows off your efforts! I just bought 2 new pairs of shorts on the weekend. I also bought another workout outfit to keep me going...now I have 5 sets for the week so I feel I have to go to…
  • Thanks Less, yeah it does feel pretty good!! But even better is that I feel it is sustainable, I do not feel like I am missing anything, and my wife and kids (19 & 21) have also lost weight so we are all in this together...that it truly the part that feels best! Best of lucj to you and everyone else in the coming…
  • Welcome Jim! I have been here for about 2 months and there is tons of great info and support. I am a 48 yr old male in the Toronto area. No one is saying you cannot have a beer...or 2. It is everything in moderation. And lite beer will be a better choice. In the end knowledge is king and helps you make better choices that…
  • Congrats to those above with losses in the first week. I got off to a good start as well with five trips to the gym this week burning almost 3,000 calories in total. This resulted in a 3.4 lb loss this week. Back on May 13 when I started this journey I had set a goal of reaching 195 lbs prior to our August cruise…
  • Based on my starting weight in May 2012, I had a BMI of 30, I had a higher BMI than 65% of males 45-59 in Canada and was higher than 85% in the world. And I most represented Kuwait. As of today, down 24 lbs, my BMI is now 26, my BMI is lower than 61% of those same males in Canada however my BMI is still higher than 65% of…
  • Welcome to MFP. This is a great place! I have been here for about 2 months and the first 20 lbs are gone so this place does work! Feel free to add me and best of luck in achieving your goals!
