I'm going to admit that I didn't read the whole thread, but can you explain this statement if you haven't already? If you have, sorry in advance. I think stuff tastes good because I think it tastes good. How is anyone conditioned to believe that something tastes good? I'm honestly baffled.

I always push myself a bit at races. It's mainly because I'm competitive by nature, but I usually lock on to somone who's a bit ahead of me and try to catch them, then move to the next one. I'm not saying you should kill yourself, especially out of the gate, but pushing yourself for the race will allow you to get faster :)…

42 lbs in a month?! wow

Yea, duh. I thought everyone did this already?? I'm burning an extra 1,000 cals per day by eating in 1 bite per minute 24 hours a day.

. I do one muscle group per day. Mon - Chest, Tue-Biceps, Wed-Triceps, Thur-Legs, Fri-Back. I do HIIT cardio on Mon, Wed, Fri as well. This gives each group plenty of time to recover. It works best for me!

Yes, it will make you retain water. The good news is water is just water weight. Constantly keeping salt in your diet will constantly make you a few lbs heavier, but it isn't fat. If you're really going for a defined look with very low body fat %, it might start to cause an issue, but for general weight loss it's not going…

I would kick up your cardio, personally.

Wow, it seems like a really hard sugar goal to meet! The only thing i can see is your creamer (for today). But if those goals are correct, your creamer is HALF of your sugar for the day!! Did MFP give you this sugar goal or did you manually put it in?

Agreed along with BP and banana shake idea. I do this as well. To be honest, I don't think most people realize how many calories they drink to start with which hinders a lot of ppl's struggles with weight loss. I usually have a shake for desert after dinner to cap off the day and it brings me to my goal most of the time.

You got a "reduced sodium" brand. Are there unsalted brands out there? Is it the salt/spice on the shell that you actually like or the seed itself. Sounds like you're married to the flavor? I'm assuming that unsalted seeds are available somewhere but will admit I didn't do the research before posting. Go that route, if…

Running is always going to be better than the eliptical for effort/calorie burn. It's more taxing on your body, for sure. If you have joint problems or something of the like, mix the two, but if you feel good running I would go with that. You'll burn twice the cals running than you will on the eliptical in the same given…

Stolen! love this idea...

Looks just like the pic on the can!

I wanted to reply for FYI of any curious person in the future: I highly suggest a subtle "step-down" approach to change your running shoe. If you're used to a fully-padded cross-train type shoe, don't go straight to Vibrams. You're just asking for trouble. I did a slow transition over a year's time to a less supportive…

The silver lining is you can maintain your diet. Stay away from vigorous cardio or anything of the like. You'll still lose, which is a scale win :)

You most definitely are burning extra calories during resistance/circuit training! However, I wouldn't log these calories. Hard to calculate especially if you're trying to eat them back. Just know that you're burning extra and feel good about it :)

#1) Zumba instructor better be hot #2) I would try it if wifey really wanted me to and she joined me I just have wayyy too much pride to do Zumba. Call me close-minded, insecure, etc but it just makes me feel much better about myself to bench 220 than to dance for an hour. I know I'm mirroring sentiments that have already…

One step up from sedentary would be my guess. MFP will give you an adjusted goal with a deficit already built in. You don't need to add in "teaching cals" as cardiovascular exercise each day.

I can't stand all of the "lost weight fast" gimmicks out there. When will people learn that you just need to eat better and exercise? Yes, it's really that simple.

Hello pot, you're black. This is a SENSATIONAL critique of a title of all things? really?

I primarily run on the treadmill. Either Fartlek or HIIT intervals. I throw in a 5+ mile run every now and again as well.

I use Pearl Izumi Streak II's. They have a lower drop than your "normal" running shoe (9mm) but are very light. It seems that mine will last 600-800 miles. I think they ran me about $80? i'm using them as my first step to a progression down to a minimalist shoe. 9 > 4 > 0 is the goal. I think they'd be a good start for you

measure instead of weigh. Waist, hips, arm, thigh, neck. The tale of the tape.

Well done! I've done the Tough Mudder which is the 14 mile version. Quite trying but it was some of the most fun I've had in years!! Keep going to those things as they're amazing total body workouts. I was sore and scuffed up for WEEKS after mine...
