Define "exercise". Do you do cardio/lifting/both? Muscle can only be built on a caloric surplus (=eating more than you burn).
-
To be honest, I've never heard that people w/ hypothyroidism should consume less protein. I'm also borderline normal (the last time my doctor checked was quite some time ago though) and I have at least 100g of protein/day, 115g on most days. I don't feel it is hindering my progress/weight loss in any way.

Suzuki RMZ 250. Motocross only.

I finished 2:07 hours. Doesn't matter how long it takes you, though, everyone has their own pace. Do your thing.
-
Seriously? EDIT: OMG I read that wrong haha. Soweeee.
-
Why don't you just carry on w/ what you're doing throughout the week? All up to you. :)
-
Why shouldn't it be good for you?
-
Yes, you're diary's open now and we see the logs as soon as you enter them.
-
You're diary's still private hun. :) How many calories do you eat? Have you tried the TDEE-method? I was at that exact point in the end on 2012 when my doctor told me I have hypothyroidism. Now that I'm on mediaction I still don't "drop" the weight but it is slowly coming off.

In order to gain muscle mass you have to eat above maintenance.
-
If you want to "tone" (bleh) lifting is the way to go. I'd suggest you to put the focus there and add some HIIT (High intense interval training). Me, I lift 4-6 times a week and do HIIT 2-3 times a week after my lifting sessions. Doing cardio before my strength training would not leave me enough energy to give it my all…
-
^ Same. I gained more than 20 pounds. But it's all up to you to control your appetite. I had ZERO self control.
-
^^^ Yup.

Me I always try to choose the healthier foods for meals to not feel too bad about a few treats here & there just as cocktails or dessert. I usually stay pretty active during vacation - I'm a huge su*ker for sight-seeing and taking walks on the beach. Mexico is great for sight seeing. Just don't forget that you're only on…

To lose WEIGHT, it doesn't matter if you work out or not. All you gotta do is create a calorie deficit. I guess you know it, but 1,200 cals a day is a very low goal. It might be helping if you upped that a bit. Do you eat back your exercise cals?
-
Fitness related or just any books?
-
If I'm still hungry shortly before bed time I'll have some veggies (bell pepper, carrots, ...) cut into sticks with some dip for example hummus or cottage cheese.
-
Try planning your meals and sknacks in advance. Calculate your TDEE and substract an amount of calories based on how much weight you want to lose (you can do that on scoobysworkshop.com). It's probably not what you want to hear, but the only one who can change your habits is you. You have to decide you don't want to live…

-
Yup chest straps are the way to go if you want a more accurate estimate.
-
^^ This. When calculating your TDEE on scoobys your actually supposed to state your activity level INCLUDING exercise. You THEN don't eat back your exercise calories because scoobys automatically adds them back. Since you haven't stated your weekly exercise you should eat back those calories.
-
Well, I don't know how much calories you eat per day since your diary isn't public, but given that you do eat enough you probably have to work on your discipline. If not, eat more.
-
Yes, you can do both on the same day. It's just recommended you do strength first so you have enough energy. If you want to do cardio first I would suggest you to split your workout into two. For example, if I want to do cardio and strength in one day I do cardio before I go to work in the morning and then do strength in…
-
Eat back your exercise calories. Netting around 1,000 calories a day is far from enough.
-
In my opinion, it's BS to clinge to a goal weight that badly it drives you crazy. You either feel good with where you are or you don't. If you don't you have to get your *kitten* together and get back to it - you already told us why you're not losing that last pound so you obviously know it yourself. ;)
-
^^^ Agreed. Don't let numbers dictate your goal. You either feel good with where you're at or you don't, *kitten* the numbers.

I'd guess it's "normal" side stitching. It's usually caused by a wrong breathing technique. Try inhaling through your nose & exhaling through your mouth when that happens. It might help if you put your arms up by doing so.
-
Is it always the same side?

I used to run A LOT before I seriously injured myself & discovered my passion for lifting. Now, all I use is the treadmill/elliptical for HIIT sessions of 20-30 minutes. I sometimes throw a 10 minute session after a upper body work out in, but that's about it. :)
