  • I'm sorry this is happening to you. I can't believe that this woman wouldn't be more compassionate toward your situation, caring for elderly parents. I'm glad your real boss is aware of your situation and on your side. Good job on resisting the cake! I hope it gets better for you. Hugs.
  • Maggie, The other ladies here said it so well already, but I just wanted to add my support and let you know you're not alone. Be good to yourself. You are a beautiful person. Sending you virtual hugs.

  • SusanJean- thanks for sharing the idea of picturing how you'd take care of the little girl version of you. What a nice idea. I think that is going to be helpful to me. My way of coping is going to be decompression after work. I come home from a stressful day and go right into making dinner and house cleaning and dealing…
  • Brenn, how did you do it? Where did you get the courage to confront someone at work and quit people pleasing?
  • Yeah, well... I had lost 28 lbs. That 10 lbs is just what I haven't gained back yet. So... kind of back to the start. Everyone, thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. I appreciate having people who understand and care. Thank you.
  • Sending you a friend request now.
  • Good for you! Yay for making such great goals!
  • I don't really have any advice. Just wanted to say sorry for your loss. Don't be too hard on yourself. Take some time to grieve, do your best and you can get back into your routine later. Hugs.
  • I hope you're feeling better. Take care of yourself and get back on the horse slowly.
  • So sorry to hear about your cat. Putting an animal down is so awful. Even when you know it's best for the cat, it hurts so bad. Hugs to you. It's the worst. Way to go with the shred and keeping busy. I'm with you on the water goal this week - sip, sip sip!
  • Same here! I started early morning workout time before he is up also which works OK as long as I go to bed early enough the night before. SusanJean - no one has been mean here. Everyone is very kind and supportive in this group.
  • Hi Aboele - I've been thinking of you and just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling. I hope things are still improving. :flowerforyou:
  • Sorry to hear that all of you are having a rough week. Just remember, every day is a new day to start again. My goal this week is to get back on my program. I was doing great, then got discouraged due to some comments people on MFP made, then started going through a bad time at work... and I looked in the mirror the other…
  • Yes! Yes, I so wish I had not come in that day! I have not been taking care of myself at all lately. And that needs to change. Would love to get fired and go on unemployment for the summer, but I don't think unemployment will be enough money. And my job is the one with the insurance for both me and my husband, so I'm kind…
  • Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Your support really helps. And Susanjean - what the heck is up with Walmart? I know 2 other people who have had similar issues, and have read about many others. Someone should do something about them!
  • There is something in the exercise journal called circuit training in the cardio section. That's what I use when I do workouts with different exercises and weights. And I agree with PlumCrazyGirl - only 1/2 lb since December - that's still pretty good.

  • Wow, that sounds really awful. And I'm so sorry about the loss of your Dad. Take your time getting better. I can tell you this from experience - I did the 30 day shred for about 15 days and I could really see some changes in my body. Then I got an injury and couldn't really work out for about a month. But when I started 30…
  • Brenn, I'm so sorry this happened to you. People can be so hurtful. It makes me sad just reading it, so I can only imagine how awful you must feel. Can you be friends with them outside of the group, without the bully? OR maybe just reach out to the ones who you feel closest to and have your own dinners with them? I hope…
  • So sorry you're going through this sad time. Sending you virtual hugs across the miles. Good for you that you're not giving up or giving in even at such a difficult time in your life. What great strength you have! And roller derby? That is so cool!
  • I've had this problem too - where I don't want to log my bad days. For awhile I just made my diary private so I could log accurately without having people be judgmental. Then I was criticized for not making my diary public. Maybe I just need more understanding MFP friends. I find that if I have a big baked potato and some…

  • This is my stress week at my second job. I teach drama to kids at night and when it's a show week, I'm working my day job, shopping for costumes on my lunch break, racing to rehearsal after work, staying up painting scenery until the wee hours, exhausted in the morning and running late.... it makes it so easy to just grab…
  • Sending good thoughts and virtual hugs your way. We all have bad days. Dust yourself off and start again.
  • Mine is different depending on what my problem is. Often my emotional eating is texture related. If I'm feeling bad about my boss being mean to me, I want mushy foods like pudding or graham crackers dunked in milk or caked mushed together with ice cream. They have this stuff called gravy bread that is comforting too.
  • Thank you for starting this group. This really is the area that is missing on MFP. I'm looking forward to getting to know and support everyone here. I think this is the missing link to my success.
  • I like the idea of having mannequins in a variety of sizes. A lot of women don't know how to dress in a way that flatters their body because all we see on TV, magazines, runways, etc. are tall slim women, and what looks good on them. If wore the clothes that look good on most models, I'd look ridiculous. Having an example…
  • It happens. Drink lots of water and you'll be back to normal before you know it.
  • I agree with this. I don't particularly like Jillian and I"m not a fan of exercise in general. But by day 10 of the 30 day shred, I could see a major difference in my body as well as my strength and could walk up 2 flights of stairs without getting winded. Seeing how quickly it made a difference made me stick to it. When I…
  • Maybe I'm just being anti-social, but I would love it if my husband went to a wedding and I wasn't invited. And if they could extend that tradition to their kids birthday parties and first communions and whatnot, it would be even better. He has a large group of friends that grew up together and many married inside their…
  • Stayed about the same. At least I didn't gain. The good news is we're only 1/2 way through - which means I can still kick it into high gear and make some progress by the end of the challenge. So, I was up at 4:45 this morning doing the 30day shred, made a fairly healthy breakfast and am now avoiding the paczki pushers at…
