When my left shoulder was weaker than my right I would add extra reps to it. The weaker side will hurt a lot, but that's the point.
-
Work out the weaker side more than the other. You'll see that it will begin to catch up. It also helps to measure both sides so you can see the progress.

+1 Also OP, of you want to compensate for energy expended for increased activity you should up your carbs above all else.
-
Focus on eating carbs
-
It also depends on the food gong through your system. My weight also fluctuates. It's normal.
-
Currently shooting for 5k a day myself too. Right now I'm averaging 4100 but working on it. You will get used to it bit by bit.
-
I agree wholeheartedly

No matter what you do keep the protein the same. To bulk, increase carbs to stack those calories high. To cut, decrease carbs as you see fit.
-
To gain weight you need excess energy, period.
-
Agreed. Calories are calories. You're probably thinking they have less or no nutrients maybe? But with such a high calorie diet you will have no deficiencies.
-
Try eating a higher % of carbs. You're probably consuming too much protein and not carbs. And if 4500 isn't cutting it, do 6000. At your level you're going to need to shock your body somehow.
-
Look up bee pollen that might help with your protein intake and overall health as well.
-
Agreed. High volume is key. Work your chest daily, but with different movements.
-
Yeah I agree you're overthinking it. At your age you should be eating a lot more than that over your "maintenance."

Sweet Potatoes!

It's just to help you replenish and repair. In my experience having some form of protein before bed helps me sleep better. Glass of milk, cottage cheese, protein shake, whatever it's all pretty much the same.

There are a lot of good channels on YouTube. Try Mateusz M. Some really good short motivational videos.

Bro my advice is just ignore all technicalities and eat eat eat! You need to be shooting for 4000 calories a day minimum. People like me and you have high metabolisms. If I don't eat enough I get skinny. Trust your body to handle the calories, but make sure you're working your *kitten* off at the gym too.

As for using MFP, it helps track your calorie intake and protein/carbs/fat ratio.

WHOLE MILK AND EGGS!!!! I can't say how much this has helped me put on weight and increase strength. I eat 6 whole eggs in the morning with my oats and 6 again as a post-workout. Then I drink about half a gallon of whole milk throughout the day. As for the other meals, just eat a lot of sweet potatoes, chicken breast, lean…

I used to think I was lactose intolerant until I started drinking Whole Milk. It's nature's protein shake. I now drink about half a gallon a day and have seen some serious strength gains in the gym. None of you should be concerned with milk as being deleterious to your health. Instead, worry about all the flippin sugar…

Plain oats all the way!!!

You can add so many things to your shake it would be too long for me to list them all... mainly fruit, peanut butter, oats, and whole milk go well. But hell, if you're not in the mood for a shake and rather eat something, just add it to a bowl of oatmeal or a bowl of cottage cheese(great meal before going to sleep).

Before you have your late night "snacks," try consuming some form of protein(protein shake/bar, milk, cottage cheese, meat) along with a glass of water. This will help satisfy your hunger and provide you with some clean calories. Remember this is to help you control them, but you can avoid them all in all by planning out…
-
yes that would be a good place to start I'd say do 45 minute workouts, 3 days a week and space them out with a day of rest in between such as Mon, Wed, Fri.

"DONT QUIT, YOU CANT QUIT, I WONT LET YOU QUIT" (I quit playing sports my junior year and went on an unhealthy streak of about 2 years of bad eating habits and no exercise. I will never quit again because I regret it to this day.

Strength training, in my opinion, is VERY important regardless of whether you want to lose or gain weight(muscle mass). Right now, you're doing the basics with your cardio, which is a really good way to start. However, strength trianing will not only help you burn more fat, but will also allow you to maintain the muscle…
