Force yourself to eat more. Protein shakes are okay, but nothing is going to beat real meals.

I'm not vegetarian but I will tell you that if you want to gain you'll need to stuff yourself with carbs. For you, I recommend oatmeal. Eat that as much as you can. Lots of people will tell you to eat fats like peanut butter and avocados but it will just slow you down. I've done it both ways and carbs are better.

I personally didn't find creatine useful either, but I know some people that will vouch for it so it can't hurt. I did retain more water on it.
-
Imo you need to eat more man. You're 6'4. I'm about 5'10 and 3500 cals would be below maintenance for me. Go for at least 5000 and up your carbs.

Do your thing and forget everything else. The hell with watching what people look like our what they're wearing. If it makes you uncomfortable, then so be it. Change is uncomfortable. Embrace it. Best of luck.
-
Damn that's good progress. My advice is to keep increasing your intake until you get there.

Up your calories if 4k isn't working

As soon as I wake up and throughout the day. Whenever I can really. For oatmeal I do 6 servings (3 cups), 5+ tablespoons of honey, and 2 cups milk. And yeah cooked I just make it in the microwave though.
-
Mostly oatmeal and honey for the carbs. 3 cups at a time and I add a lot of honey to it. Also eat ramen plain without the seasoning, really easy to down sometimes I can eat 4 blocks after the gym if I'm hungry. Sweet potatoes are so good but they're really filling too.

Currently 5000 calories: 111g fat 750g carbs 250g protein

Your body will adapt to your activities + diet. If your activities push it towards being slim then your best option is to counter it with your diet. Aka you'll need to eat more than you're comfortable with. As far as supplements they're not needed of you have your diet down but if you have the money they do help. Protein…

It's great for you and may even help you sleep better.
-
High fat in my diet makes me feel horrible whereas high carb/low fat gives me endless energy.
-
Yeah I wouldn't worry much about when as long as you consume your goal by the time you go to sleep.

Bulk*

Imho you need to bull man. I can see your ribs. You may have some fat but you're definitely not someone that needs to cut.
-
Try oatmeal with skim milk and honey. I get about 2000 cals from eating that twice a day alone. I too try to keep my fat low while keeping my calories high.
-
Only if you don't use it!
-
I just read up on it and looks great. And no hell no I say keep doing it until you hit a plateau.
-
Also of you're bulking try to put your focus on carbs.
-
Play around with foods that fit your goals. Going over on protein won't hurt you, but going over on fat may have you feeling slow and bogged down.
-
I've also been looking for something similar for a while now. Exercise helps stimulate it some, but once you consume enough food there's no way around it that I know of. Eating can be just a hard as working out. Forget want. Decide to eat.

The level of complication is too damn high!
-
Yeah I can see how that would work. I think the whole being in better cardiovascular shape could also have a snowball effect because the body would function better as a whole.
-
I think you confuse weight loss vs fat loss/prevention.
-
Cardio does help you burn fat. We can get into the specifics or whatever, but how are you going to say cardio doesn't help burn fat? As far as rep ranges yeah I can agree with lower reps for strength and power, but more tension with higher reps seems to have worked best for me out of anything.
-
To get a better pump by getting more blood into the muscle. But also by that point the workout becomes cardiovascular so it will help him burn fat.
-
Yeah fat helps your body absorb vitamins and minerals. It also helps your body produce hormones like testosterone. However, you don't need all that much of it so I would limit the amount to whatever you get from meat and dairy. In my experience too much fat in my diet bogs me down and hurts my cardio. I say focus on…

I agree with this. It's all mental. Don't waste money on a doctor until you try the discipline of eating on a schedule; hungry or not. Remember why you're doing this.

Honestly of you want to bulk you could bulk. Yeah you may have some fat on you that you could cut, but you also could use some weight on you. My ADVICE: is to bulk on a high carb/lower fat diet, but work out more often with more intensity. 15-20 reps with little rest. Never take 2 consecutive days off. You need to be…
