  • In high school I was at my highest weight of 135. That's when my own parents pointed out I was "a bit chubby". Being only 4'11, every spare lb shows. Every calorie counts. I was ashamed of my weight (still am), and always wore this huge sweater to cover as much of my body as possible. I've managed to drop the sweater,…
  • Breakfast! Especially cereal and waffles
  • The three most effective things that have kept me from eating just one more thing: - Brush teeth instead. Now I've brushed my teeth already, and the food won't taste that great anyways. - A long look in the mirror while holding the food item in question. Think of the goal, and what this could do to sabotage it. - Remember…
  • Wow! Sounds like a very busy life. Best of luck, Mickala, and congratulations on the 35! Every lb is like a miniature victory - at least to me :)

  • If you don't mind seeing my long-winded posts (profile is a good example), and feel down or need to vent, I'm told I'm a good shoulder to cry on. Hang in there; we're all rooting for you and your health!
  • When I had trouble with eating too much, I used these tricks to help stop that craving: - Ate something extremely spicy/hot. May not be an option if you have heartburn/acid reflux/other, but I ate just enough to make me stop & curb the craving. - Drank a lot of something hot. Cold drinks can curb it just as well, depends…
  • I totally get what you mean. I try to only give the healthiest advice on here, but it's always best to see a doc/dietician & see what they say is fine for you. My best friend in HS had an ED, I let her lean on me for emotional support, but she was doing the best she could: seeing a psychiatrist & getting the advice she…
  • Hi Roxy. To be honest, you may need to experiment with it a while, if not able to see a dietician. [Personal experience:] To lose weight, (for most folks, including myself) there needs to be a slight calorie deficit. Otherwise, can try to burn off the excess, but that can lead to muscle-gain and therefore some slight…
  • Hello! I'm also new, but have succeeded losing weight on a few plans. Stopped for a long time, very depressed. Now beginning a new & different experience. Partly to learn & share!, partly for health reasons (diabetic family). (Ignore the below if you don't want advice from a non-dietician/me:) [In my personal experience:]…

  • I don't know if you like guacamole (not everyone's thing, that's for sure!) but if you do, there's a ton of good recipes out there for spinach-guacamole dip; with/without onions, etc. It's good for flavoring up a lot of foods.
  • I'm also new here & also on a low-carb. I quit cold-turkey on the sugar-laden high-carb stuff. (My body hates me for it  ) Decided to try it out after looking at r/keto, (low-carb recipes and advice show up often there, may be worth a look) which led me to this site. Best of luck to you, always remember (especially…
