Booklvr81: Single early 30s librarian (because you love books!)

@CountryDevil. Yes on the age but no on the occupation. I think you are early 40s, married, and you work in the building trades, general contractor perhaps.
-
Edith told us her age and occupation, so I'll guess crabby's. Very early 20s EMT.

I've been 314 pounds and now I'm 183. What I've found is that most of the time people are thinking about themselves and their concerns, not me. And not you either. On the off chance they are thinking hateful things, who the hell cares? The world is not out to get you. Never attribute to malice that which is adequately…

Meat, cheese, poultry, eggs, dairy, fresh fruits and vegetables, old fashioned or steel cut oatmeal, spices, frozen vegetables, peanut butter, fish, coffee and tea. Some processed foods make the cut, but I limit them. I work hard to cook from scratch with actual food.

No MIL horror stories. She is a pretty normal person. I am waiting for people to post some good ones though.

Idrosphila, I wasn't aware I was being insulting. I extend an olive branch and apologies to you. I did have gallstones and had my gallbladder out. The very long back and forth you quoted between TigressPat and me detailed some of that. My original statement was that I had my gallbladder out and felt better. I also…

As you will. I don't think for a moment all of your replies were about me and my situation. And you are clearly determined to argue. I simply don't give a rat's back pocket any more, so carry on. BTW, I have no idea what butthurt means. I assume it is insulting. Apparently I am not current on internet speak.
-
If you feel that my having my gallbladder out is an issue of ignorance and apathy, then cheers to you. Live as you wish; I'll be doing the same.
-
Nope, you didn't misunderstand. I threw it in there that I was eating low fat because some folks have more trouble with their gallbladders when they eat fat, apparently the OP being one of them. I suppose the OP may never have another issue, but I am skeptical of it. My understanding is that the issue is progressive for…

Started in a 26. Now I wear a 14 with room. Aiming for a comfortable 12.

Rapid weight loss of any sort can cause gallstones. I had mine out and I feel so much better. "But welcome to a world of lets just yank it out instead of learning how to live with it. " My doctor made a sharp point of telling me that it would not get better. It would get progressively worse, and it could cause pancreatitis…

I had WLS 9/11/12. It's not the easy way. If you aren't comfortable with surgery, don't do it, no matter your doctor's opinion. You have to commit wholeheartedly. If you want to work on losing weight without surgery, by all means do. As another poster said, do not let anyone pressure you into making a decision with which…
