Are you doing MFP together? Hope so as it could be very rewarding. Let us know how you are doing, good luck!

I hear you......in finance here and the office is always full of goodies. I almost always pack my lunch plus a snack. Thinking about what you are going to eat that day seems to help with temptations. If I splurge I try to add some extra minutes on my walk. The food does not go away....you just have to learn to deal! Good…

Definitely ugly, give the soda up!

I agree with the others. Take it one day at a time, one small goal at a time. Allow yourself that one treat....then head back to tracking and moving. You cannot deprive yourself while everyone else is indulging, it never lasts. Don't be so hard on yourself, we are here for you, we are at the same place. Good luck.

Congrats and onto your next goal! You've got this!

Agree about the thyroid testing. Include TSH, free T3, Free T4 for sure. Remember optimal, do not settle for normal. READ everything you can about your thyroid so you can see if that is your problem. Good luck!

I agree being hypo is so hard. You have to be so diligent with your diet. My doctor advised me to go with the strength training vs walking all the time. I am trying hard to add more of it. I. put on 5 lbs at Christmas eating everything I wanted....still trying to drop those pounds and more. Good luck with your journey.

keep it up!

Congrats to you!

Yum!

What was your TSH, Free T4, Free T3? Sometimes normal is not optimal. Read everything you can on thyroid disease, you will be surprised as some doctors are still using the old scale. Also visit the thread on this site.

First of all I love this board and MFP! After my 3rd doctor I finally found a keeper. She gave me choices: stay on Synthroid and add Cytomel or try Armour. I took the Armour and have not regretted it. That alone has not been my answer. I found I have to watch what I eat, calories and stay with the good for you food. After…

Agree that some kind of exercise helps me. I take a whole foods vitamin and Vitamin D. Hope you can get your meds regulated. I also try to limit sugar, I said TRY!

Tracking, tracking and tracking. Eating healthier and adding strength training instead of just cardio. I love to walk but I know I need to maintain muscle after 50. Good luck!

You can add me if you want. Love this site.

Pumpkin muffins (box of carrot cake mix, stir in one can of pumpkin purée, 1 T pumpkin pie spice and a little water, bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees) add some chocolate chips to the batter for your chocolate fix if you like

Started out with Synthroid which made me feel horrible. New Dr put me on Armour. It took about a year to regulate. I now take 60 mg in the morning and 15 mg at night. I really have to watch what I eat. Now back to counting calories, decided it will be lifelong. Love MFP!

Love my International Delight too much.....I walk a little longer everyday. Coldstone Sweet Cream is my current fav!
