I went to the Dr regarding my overhang belly skin after emergency c-section in 1985 as I was constantly being asked when my baby was due it was that noticeable - he wasn't at all sympathetic to how it made me feel and simply sent me away. Subsequently I gave up trying to exercise it away and began to eat more and more and…

5-6 times a day! I try to plan my meals and snacks and keep to a time and eat regularly through the day as when I get too hungry I reach for sugary snacks and then binge eat, so breakfast at 9, snack at 11, lunch at 2, snack at 4, dinner at 7, and sometimes supper at 9. Wow looking at that I think I'm always eating or…

Don't be disheartened, it is most likely temporary. I was told this by my Rosemary Conley class leader: When you start exercising and cutting down calories - your body gets the message that you suddenly need more energy and it doesn't know yet if supplies are readily available and so goes into survival mode and stores…

Hi there, gazzasgirl just came back to this site after a long absence - looking for inspiration. I saw your profile and would like to say well done on keeping to your plan so far. It helps if you change the "CAN I do it?" to a self affirming "I WILL do it!" say it out loud to yourself. It may feel crazy but I feel…

"I was always told, unless you can see a head coming out. Or the person says " i cant wait till this baby is born" Dont EVER ask if they're pregnant. " I wish people would follow this rule - it would save some heartache and embarrassment

Try this. Change weight loss goal to 1lb a week loss. Have those extra calories, choose food wisely and drink the water recommended. When you are managing without the hunger pangs, adjust your goal slightly. You will get there :)

Yes, after an emergency c-section 27 years ago, I was sewn up badly (in my opinion) and left with a overhang of fatty flesh that diet and exercise would not shift. Despite getting back to my pre pregnancy weight. It is/was so awful that I would not let my husband see me naked or touch my belly. It made me depressed and…

Robin, keep up with the regime of eating well and keeping fit. I am certain there are subtle changes happening in your body that you can't see. if you need help targeting a particular body area there are lots of videos on you tube or help is at the gym. Please don't be discouraged :)

Ooh you sound like I was for the last 10 years! Full of reasons not to be healthy. When you realise you are keeping yourself fat through excuses, then your new regime can start. Eat less, choose wisely and be more active on regular basis. Log in daily and write EVERYTHING on here and you will soon see what foods you can…

Hi Lisa, My name is Debbie and i am also a new member on here but have been dieting half heartedly for 10-15 years. I feel what you are saying. I think I am the slim young woman I feel in my brain. Alas a glance at a reflection and its like who is that blob. Oh its me - Cue a binge on something and the guilt. That got be…

I don't know why you have to take fibre supps, but usually if you are eating lots more healthy foods they have natural fibres in but need lots water to help them digest. So try to avoid laxatives and instead drink plenty of fluids. Its a similar problem to "holiday tummy" the change of diet causes problems for a short…

Your food diary looks a lot like mine would, start off well, and end rubbish. You are not eating enough food calories or drinking enough water. Your body will store fat as it now thinks there is a shortage in food/water supplies! Eat that extra 200 cals you have spare each day, and choose fruit and veg, avoid fatty…
