  • Congrats on your loss so far! I've had depression through anxiety for a while but recently I've been happy for me getting out walking helps a lot and more recently I'm addicted to hot yoga. How do you get out of a rut? Add me and I'll try and be as supportive as possible. All the best!
  • Deleted someone who posted more about her faith and love for god than fitness and weight loss. I respect your religious beliefs but I'm not here for a praise the lord session.
  • Most store bought microwaveable popcorn is bad - full of salt and bad fats. Also the low cal skinny popcorn isn't great if you don't portion control. After I discovered that my small bag of popcorn at the movie theater was 600 calories I decided to make it at home, cheaper and far less fat!! Get popping corn from your…
  • Very good point - reservation at the local churrascaria - all you can eat steak check - not sure the second part should be on the same level...
  • So what is the rule if you've embarked on a relationship after v-day?
  • ^^ this is so well said! I agree - hard to believe or follow through with when you are crushing on someone but shy guys get married too so they must figure it out when it is important! Take it easy - do what you love and don't over think it - easier said than done I know.
  • Canadian living in the UK, feel free to add me happy to provide encouragement!!
  • It worked for me when I started two years ago. I have lots of knee issues, have orthodontics and most gym based exercises end up hurting me, even when I've paid loads to a trainer. Invest in good shoes! I used MBTs because a lot of my walking was on city streets to/from work and MBTs protect your knees as they allow you to…
  • Awesome!! You look great!!
  • I do Hot Bikram Yoga regularly and in Jan completed the 30 day challenge and lost 7lbs while at it. Also more than weight loss I lost a lot of inches around my waist. I wear my HRM to class and depenidng on my effort I can burn up to 900 calories in a class but now I burn less as I'm more used to it. I've written up a blog…
  • So you are losing a pound a week, I'm lost what is your issue that is a very healthy way to lose weight. I sort of lose a lot of weight then stay at a place then lose again but from the start of the year I've lost a pound a week and am ecstatic as I know I can maintain my current lifestyle! Remember if you lose quickly you…
  • Totally agree with this response. Michael using big words doesn't make you "smart"
  • This ^^^ is so totally true our maintenance is far more expensive - clothes and haircut at the same place will usually be 30% more for a woman than a man which is unfair!! But that said, I offer but would expect the guy to take me out for our first date (i.e. pick up the bill). After I think it is good to just take turns…
  • Feel free to add me - always happy to help out!!
  • Thank you for sharing it is very inspirational! Also well written and easy to relate to as I can see where I'm at in the process and where I could get to :)
  • From London, feel free to add me :)
  • Wow thanks for sharing you look amazing!! Happy Birthday!
  • Totally agree, thanks for sharing your wisdom I may just put this on my Fridge door!!
  • I work out 6:30am - 8am most days and love it. I used tell everyone that I was NOT a morning person for 3 years I've had an agreement with my boss that I work 10am - 6pm instead of 9am - 5pm. This year I've been waking up at 5:30am to get to Bikram yoga studio for 6:30am for a 90 min cardio + strength session before work…
  • No you really did miss the point - calorie is a measure of energy and physics says an action has an equal and opposite reaction. Sweat is the reaction to exercise the action and can be an indicator of calorie burn. But there is no corelation to suggest sweat = cal burn.
  • For me in 2012 I did a fad diet lost 7lbs in one month but then made serious lifestyle changes and in 6 months I'd lost a total of 10 lbs. Then I gained all of it back because I went to visit my folks which always means weight gain and my grandma passed away which just meant comfort food. Couldn't get back on track after…
  • Have just started 30DS and this is awesome inspiration. Did you change your diet a lot too? Not just watching calories but eating clean? Or do you always eat clean? Thanks for sharing!!
  • Qualified accountant here just finished results announcements at work, I've managed to lose weight 2 January's in a row now: Last year I paid a fortune to a meal delivery company to have 1200 calorie meals delivered to my door for the 2 months in Jan and Feb. This year I wake up at 5:30 am to get to Bikram yoga at 6:30am…
  • I'm in Clapham so in your hood! I moved to the UK a few years ago (from Canada) joined a hiking club (Metropolitan Walkers) that is my group for fitness friends. I go on a 10 - 15 mile hike most weekends in London or using quick transport options from Clapham Junction. If you want to know more send me a message. Also a…
  • Great topic! Also a lot of good suggestions on how to get sleep. Mine is Yoga - which ever kind you do it really calms me down and helps reduce stress which is usually why I can't sleep. Also noticed that while I can live on 6 hrs of sleep each night I don't lose weight on it. To lose weight and heal I need 7 - 8 hrs. And…
  • I think you have been misinformed. I've been using an HRM for non-cardio exercise for many years (4+) and I do believe if you have a good HRM - I have one which I can do a fitness test with to gauge my own calorie expenditure at rest so can tell me with a greater degree of accuracy my caloric burn from activities that do…
  • Don't lose hope everybody is different. As of today I've lost a pound a week - except in my first two weeks I lost 5 pounds then nothing moved until today when I had another major loss and a catch-up. I usually weigh myself once or twice a week and the weight has been all over the place. But trousers I couldn't fit into 2…
  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
  • Slow and steady, keep up the good work!
  • I got it when I started running, saw a sports massage therapist and had her really massage into the knot. She told me about the tennis ball trick, but I didn't have one. My local drug store (Boots) has a roller designed specially to stretch out feet with Plantar Faciitis, now I use that regularly after I've done a long…
