That's completely false. You needed to talk to your instructor about your technique. BODYPUMP can shape tone, and build muscle. You just have to do it correctly.

Three time a week every other day is what is recommended, gotta give your muscles time for recovery or you'll never see progress. Calories burned in pump is usually around 500 or so.

They have been merciless with the lunge tracks lately. I love it. I'm teaching the lunge track from BODYPUMP 80 tonight, it will be painful :)

I do BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT from Les Mills. It's really hard to calculate numbers but here is on average setup of calories burned. These are probably a tad high unless you can really keep up in class and do the workout at high impact all class long. 737 Calories burned in Body Combat Class 560 Calories burned in Body Pump…

I'm not trying to diss Zumba here, I think it's a perfectly valid workout class, but everyone always seems to way overestimate the calories burnt in Zumba, If you're lucky and you've been doing Zumba for a long time, know how to execute the moves and can actually keep up with the instructor, you might on an average 125lb…

If you need quick weight loss, try Paleo. It's a big change in your eating but helps to drop some serious weight when you start on it. I've had friends loose 10-15lbs in the first month of switching to a pure paleo diet. But mostly low carb and a lot of exercise will be in order to reach your goal. Good luck!

Chicken, Salmon, Shrimp then pair with something with some carbs ( cause your body needs them) like whole wheat pasta or some broccoli. The key is to eat…

Definitely go somewhere for a gait analysis. It's a big help in choosing the right shoes. I highly recommend if you can do a neutral ride shoe any of the Brooks Pure Project line. They are very comfortable and supportive. I just switched to them from Nike's not that long ago, ran my first half marathon in them and they…

I really hope you tried a class. It's one of the most nurturing environments for growth. I teach several classes and I was a participant for years before becoming an instructor. I have met so many fantastic people and changed my life completely because of group fitness classes. :)

Here is just a face shot of from where I started to where I am now. I have a little to go still and once I hit my goal I'll have to update this again :) Started at 287, down to 220 or so on the right hand side, weighed in this morning at 210. 20lbs to go for the first goal of 190 :)
