  • I had my RNY 11 years ago and I never heard of the "liver shrink diet," why is it done? I was able to eat the way I wanted up to midnight before the surgery.
  • My Surgery was 11 years ago. I was 252 and got down to 138. I had gotten back up to 163 but back on my way back down. I'd like to get back to the 138 and I have 14 pounds to go and I am having such a hard time doing it. I get hungry about every two hours. Maybe it's my meds or I've also been told that it's the surgery and…
  • Hi Lynn, I just found this group today and so glad I did. What kind of surgery did you have? I had the RNY 11 years ago.
  • I do understand what it's like to have little kids and try to get in some exercise. It's been my experience that you will still lose weight but it might be a little slower. The weight will come off pretty good in the beginning (for me anyway) but then exercise will become more important to get the stubborn pounds off. When…
  • Thanks! I've sent you a friends request so I can check out your diary,
  • Almost 11 years and no regrets- none. Here are some of the things that I have had to deal with. Anemia- I had stopped taking my iron because of the BM effects so when I had some surgery this past month I did get anemic. I'm not a big drinker but those days will be behind you if you go with a RNY- the alcohol has to go…
  • I'm almost 11 years post op and still thankful for having the RNY. During the years I have put on maybe 20 pounds and I have 14 more to go to get back to my original loss weight. You will do great!
  • I eat imitation crab meat. I put it in my grits along with green onions and tomatoes. It's fat free and yummy- if you like grits.
  • I had the RNY 10 years ago and lost 114 pounds I have gained back 20 which is why I'm doing MFP. One very imortant thing is that you HAVE to deal with your head as well- go to OA or someother place to learn to eat right and get some kind of handle on this or you will gain it back. I know because I've been where you are and…
  • I had my RNY 10 years ago. When I went in to see the doctor I was going in wanting the band but she told me that ther RNY was the gold standard. I'm so happy that I did the RNY. I have heard of people loosing weight with the band but personally I have never known one. I do know two of my friends that have it but are still…
  • I had my bypass in October 2002 and I have no regrets at all. I lost 114 pounds. I have put on about 20 that I'm trying to get rid of and that is the only downer about the surgery. It seems harder to loose those 20 pounds and I think it's because of the absorbstion of the calories. At one time I went on a 1200…
