I've been doing the Paleo with an autoimmunity twist for a few weeks. Initially no eggs, nuts, nightshades. I last week I tested out nuts a couple of times with no noticable change. Last night I ate tomatoes and am waiting to see what happens. Thanks everyone for the great links.

I top lots of stuff with sliced avocados - salad, chicken breast with a little tomatillo salsa, sandwiches. I also put a half of one in my smoothie every morning - adds a thick, creamy texture.

I just bought a Vitamix last month after my $100 blender (KitchenAid) crapped out after only mild use. I bought the KitchenAid thinking it would be a good intermediate w/out spending the extra money on a Vitamix. Turns out it only lasted a year. So, I went for it. I LOVE it, it is truly amazing! As for the comment on…

I agree that my body is different now too. Don't know if its age (I'll be 40 this Dec), the baby or both. Something else I've had some luck with just recently is dramatically cutting back on processed carbs. Focusing on lots of veggies, lean meat and a little fruit. Just doing this for about a month now, my stomach feels…

There are lots of great post-partum ab workouts out there. Seems like the consensus is pulling back in those deep muscles (Transversus Abdominus, etc.). There are lots of free tips online, just google Transversus Abdominus and postpartum... I know its frustrating when you look in the mirror the first months after you have…

Anyone is free to add me too.

This! I have a two year old. Our "dessert" is usually just fruit (watermellon, berries). When she asks for it, I assess what she's eaten and if I feel she's not eaten "enough" dinner, I tell her she can have the fruit if she'll eat 3 more bites of a vegetable that I know she likes, which usually results in her inhaling the…

I came across this recipe a few weeks ago (I believe the person that sent it got it from Tana Amen, but not sure?). Haven't made it yet, but sounds promising. Not sure if I believe protein powder is necessary, but I usually tweak recipes until they suit me. Amazing Avocado Gelato Ingredients • 3 avocados • 1/4 cup coconut…

Everyone is different, but I had a nausea just for a few weeks. My favorite thing was lemonade and seltzer water (50/50). For some reason it really helped settle my stomach.

Congrats! This is definitely something your doctor should give you guidance on. I was an avid runner and went to the gym about 3 times/week for weights and spinning classes before I became pregnant nearly 3 years ago. My doctor said it was fine to continue to do what I did before I got pregnant, but to be sure to listen to…

Thanks for the list! I've read Paleo Solution and Primal Blueprint. Will be interested to see if the others have more info or the same stuff.

Thanks for this list! I am new to paleo. I've been reading Robb Wolf's Paleo Solutions book and the Primal Blueprint. Having health problems and if all this stuff is even remotely true, I am looking forward to some big improvements! On day 4 and am not craving any no-no's (well, except for beer) and feeling good. We'll see.

Wow, wow, wow!

A serving of raw nuts (almonds, walnuts). They are a good protein source, but limit the amount because they are calorie dense and high in fat (GOOD fat though). Raw veggies dipped in hummus apple with almond butter smoothie if I am home and have the time to get the blender out. I like to keep it simple frozen berries,…

I've been doing 30 minutes of elliptical after the RI30 workouts. I run 3 days a week so I only do these workouts on the days I don't run. I haven't been following it by week - I did week one 5 times and then move to the next.

too funny!

I have lots of different handeld bottles - different sizes for shorter and longer runs. I have yet to find a waist pack that I like. The only one I find tolerable is the Amphipod, but even that one I prefer the handheld strap instead of the waistpack. The Fuel Belt handhelds are by far my favorite for carrying just a…

If you want to get rid of two sports bras, you may want to take a look at Title Nine (http://www.titlenine.com/) - they have a FABULOUS bra selection for all sizes!

I've been wearing Brooks Adrenaline forever (almost 10 years). Tried some others from time to time, but I always come back to these. I change out the insoles with DownUnders (purple). For me its the magic combination.

I've been doing ripped in 30 too, but haven't gone beyond week two simply because I've had a few breaks as I've been traveling a lot. I also have taken lots of circuit training classes over the years and run at least three days/week and do elliptical 1-2 days/week so I consider myself pretty fit. That said that set with…

Soda/diet soda is such a hard habit to break! After many years, I finally have given it up all together. I never thought I'd say it, but I don't miss it at all. On the rare occasion that I think I want some, I can't stand more than a sip. At first when I wanted something soda-like I mixed a little lemonade with seltzer…

I worked out at the gym all the way through my pregnancy including running on the treadmill until about 30 weeks. When it got to be too much on my knees, I opted for walking on a good incline and using the elliptical. I still did weight lifting too, but modified based on my doctor's suggestion. I got lots of looks and some…

Yes! Roasted veggies taste very different from other cooking - much sweeter.

This might sound silly, but being the mom of a toddler your post made me think of all the ways I "hide" veggies in stuff. There are lots of websites with recipes to do so. It doesn't necessarily help for your work situation as much of this stuff would require heating, but the previous post about the little crock pot was…

Hi! I am a full time working mom of an almost two year old daughter. Feel free to add if you'd like!

Even if he is depressed, all you can ask him to get help, but he has to do it for himself. You can't fix him! Sometimes its hard to to be objective when you're in the middle of it, but the fact that you wrote this means you know deep down inside what you need to do. Step back and assess where you are. Regardless of your…
