aww, thanks everyone:)

thank you for the encouragement! I have some zumba videos and others -insanity, brazil but lift, etc. but I feel like I have to be in a good mood to do them and right now I'm not:( The immediate concern is that he's leaving Sunday for a 2 week trial period type thing where we wont see or hardly talk to him and he has to…

I think running more would help me cope better but it's been hot - my husband works overnights and doesn't get home until 10:30-11am and is in bed by 4:30 so the hours he's available to watch the kids, it's too hot to go. I can take the kids in the morning in the jogging stroller but I don't get the same buzz when I'm…

I'm only 5 9" but I started off at 213 in Jan and am now 173. I'm not done yet, but here's a post I put in the success story area a while ago. Before and after pictures included:-) Good luck to you! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/627083-76lbs-this-is-kind-of-amazing

Is lifting one day a week enough to make an impact? I could probably convince myself to do that, but I was under the impression that weight lifting had to be a several day a week commitment...

I dunno...not flabby, but still have soft edges (I think). I'd like some definition, like in the calfs and thighs, a flat tummy and less jiggle all over (especially the thighs and pesky mom-belly)
-
thanks for the support! I guess my worry is, what will my body look like? If I continue to eat my goal calories and lose weight, but running is mainly my only form of exercise - what will happen?
-
Yup!! For me though, I just wanted to be 175 (down from 211ish), I thought that would be a nice, comfortable weight and hardly imagined I'd actually achieve it. Now I'm here and am like...wow I have a long way to go! I have a lot more fat to lose and want to be much more defined. My new goal is 160 but I might end up…

well I did 30DS level 2 and really pushed it hard and got a good burn. Hopefully I'll get to do a run later too but for now, this sweaty mess is hitting the showers;-)
-
lol! Sounds like my kind of rest day;-) though yesterday it was super hot so I actually took a complete day off! I just heard it was going to rain this afternoon, maybe I'll get lucky and it will rain when my husband is here to watch the kids. Running in the rain is my FAVORITE!

Love this thread! When I started getting serious about running in January my goal was to run a 5k in under 36. In April I ran one in 34! (Not in a race, just in my own) Now I can run 4 miles maintaining about 11min miles but am trouble getting any faster than that. My first 5k race was 33:33 which I was tremendously proud…

thank you!! I just emailed the pics to my husband and he said the same thing:) I'm absolutely in better shape now than I was then, that's for sure:)
-
yeah...I'm super dorky! LOL, it's naptime and I don't feel like cleaning the house, so I played dress-up instead ;-)

Thanks everyone! As for what I've been doing, I have found a love in running and run 2-4miles 2-3 times a week. I bought a double joggin stroller and have been able to jog with the kids too, which is awesome!! I also take them on long walks in the jogger so that burns a lot of calories. I mix in some workout videos - 30…

thanks:) mien are 19m too!! It was madness at the beginning but it just starting to get fun!! My son turns 2 in August and my daughter is 3.5yrs.
-
Wonderful! You look amazing!
-
thanks I will definitely try them! It's funny, when I started out at 211 I was thinking, I just want to be 175 and I'll be happy. Now I'm 177 (maybe 176, tomorrow is weigh in day!) and I still feel like I have a LONG way to go. I'm not longer happy with just not being obese, I guess you could say I'm in it to win it now,…

she's got to be at a LOW fat percentage though, hu?
-
WHA??!! IS that her in all of the pics? She is totally ripped!!! I wonder, if you're working out a lot and get your body fat percentage down, whatever muscle you have will look defined, right?
-
as in, not eating enough or eating too much?
-
Loveit!! You are the same height as me and 160 is my goal too. I have about twenty more to go, can't wait to get where you are! Contests to you!!
-
you are all doing awesome!!! I started Jan 1st and just hit the 30lb mark today! I have 11 more to get to "normal" BMI and plan to do about 10-15more after that (which would put me at 160ish, I'm 5'9". Keep it up!!
-
yes, very helpul!! I think I will go ahead and give myself the 500 cals then - I didn't eat them all anyway (and am going to be now) but they may help me later in the week to balance things out. Thanks!
-
hmm...I dunno. I guess I just had it in my head, is that not right? LOL...
-
you know...if I was just laying around I burn one calorie per minute. So I really only burned 440 EXTRA (additional) calories, right?
-
I mentioned it to a couple of friends today who also ran the 5k with me this weekend and they were like, wow, 30 minutes would be so fast!!! But it's really not *that* fast, is it? Its 3, 10 minute miles...doable...right? haha
-
LOL!!! The first time I ran 5k (not a race, just on my own) I did it in like 35 min because my husband and I just got into a giant fight. It made me go far & FAST! LOL
-
bump...noone wants to share their goals?
-
When I decided to do a 5k my goal was under 36min, but after training a while, my best practise time was 34min so my goal was to beat that, and I did: 33:33 :)

I saw a podiatrist a few months back who diagnosed tendonitis in my foot, that seems to be better now. I haven't been to a doc yet for my hip...was hoping that rest would make it go away but it hasn't yet (and I haven't been resting it as much as I should probably)
