I think the lesson here is: never have family come visit you again... Just kidding :) I like this take on it. It's probably not the first time and it won't be the last time you hit a bump in the road. Just keep swimming...

I'm sorry, but all I can think of is the Bill Cosby dentist bit...

Zappa - "Watermelon in Easter Hay" Not something you would work out to, but wonderful to listen to.

Am I the only one that just likes it plain?

Hi newbs! :) One piece of advice from me. Log on every day. Good, bad, or indifferent, make sure you log all of your food each day and make it a habit. Much easier to see how you are doing and it makes you way more conscious about what you are eating Good luck!

Attach small electrical wires to the box of cereal. Or have a small rabid badger guard the box. Or used measured portions. That works too.

Two words... Worth. It. (not for everyone, of course, but for me it was)

I like the cut of your jib.

I picked the Fitbit because I wanted to track the steps I was taking throughout the day. If I decide I want to get more serious about running/working out/structured exercise then I would get a HRM. Right now I just want to up the level of activity I have during the day and the Fitbit does a GREAT job for me.

Log in every day. Even days that don't go so well. It's all about building good habits.

Currently teaching a band camp as well. I like it because I'm busy and not worrying about snacking. :)

Loved all the Half-Life games. I go back and play them on occasion. Love TF2 as well. I normally don't like to play online, but it's so much fun. Currently I'm downloading and playing bonus maps for Portal. I should scrounge up some cash and buy Portal 2.

Ha! I have no rhyme or reason to it. Maybe I should, but I just jump on the scale whenever I remember to do it. I want to lose the weight, but the steps and calories are the numbers I obsess over. I do weigh myself in the evenings though for consistency.

For one of the few time in my life I can say I'm a Lions fan without embarrassment.

Wow... Did this thread just go there? I think it did!

The extra motivation from comparing steps would be cool. Feel free to add me. http://www.fitbit.com/user/22RLRM

Also check the MFP Help section. That will guide you through Fitbit integration.

The biggest thing I noticed the Fitbit count while in the car was flights of stairs. Going through the mountains in TN gave me quite a few! I was tempted to eat those extra calories but thought better of it. :)

If you go the the Fitbit site, you can log activities to help account for this. You put in the time you started and the total time traveled and it will make an adjustment for you. It took me a trip from IN to FL to figure that out!

I've had mine for about 2 months. I really enjoy having it and keeping track. It is small, but I'm neurotic and keep an eye on it constantly. Really if you clip it on, you shouldn't lose it.

Use the morning for a workout. No sense in watching 2 hours of pregame shows anyway!

All I do is walk. I don't really want to run (unless I'm playing sports or being chased) so this is a great alternative for me. I'm a teacher, so during the summer I'm walking all at once. During the school year, however, I break it up into smaller bits. Even if it's just a lap or two around the school during a break. I…
