I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a long time and he remarked on my weight loss. He patted his belly and said "I should do that too, but I like food." It wasn't annoying so much as funny and a little sad. I just laughed and said "I like food too!"

I would eat one of these: ...the whole thing...while my husband was at work and my kids were at school. I'd feel sick halfway through but I'd finish it anyway, because I didn't want to leave the evidence. Then I'd hide the empty box in the outside trash and cook a healthy dinner for the family and act like everything was…

My pet peeve of the last 24 hours -- wanting to work out but feeling like crap with fever, sore throat, body aches, cough. Poor me. *pity party*
-
I don't count them because it's constantly adding up calories no matter what you're doing...even sleeping. I use a heart rate monitor to calculate calories running and when I lift weights and do 30 Day Shred I don't have a clue. I underestimate by a lot to be safe.

It's hard to say...the nose looks different, but the pics are small and my eyes ain't what they used to be. Anyway, she does seem to ignore most of the advice given and just focus on ways to eat low calories...in both threads. If it is the same girl from the other post, I'm very sad for her and I hope she gets help.

They may be the same girl (similar posting styles), but I don't think the pics are of the same girl (could be fake pics, who knows)

I'd just have the wine and then apple pie for dessert. None of that food appeals to me.

She's sedentary and wants to lose more than that: BMR 1475 1771 daily calories to maintain 1328 to lose 46 pounds in a year Hey, what a coincidence! The hypothetical lady's cal requirements are 1328 and I normally have mine set at 1300-1350. Whodathunk.

Anywayyyyyy.... Forget using me as an example, since I'm "altered" (and all bariatric patients are exactly the same and are lumped into the same "altered" category) and therefore exempt from normal human digestive functioning. *eyeroll* Using a "normal" 49-year-old menopausal 5'3" 175lb woman as an example, 1200 calories…

You seem like a reasonably intelligent person, so I can only assume that you're just *kitten* with me by refusing to understand what I'm saying. Oh well. Cheers. :)
-
I will explain again. Most bariatric procedures -- gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and the like -- reroute and/or remove a part of the digestive system, removing the body's ability to make certain enzymes and process nutrients and calories in the same way. The changes are physical and chemical. The lap band, however, only…

Ugh ok now I'm in bed on my phone so can't type so well. Way back on page 1 someone started telling the OP that 1200 was too little FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYONE. I merely pointed out that many people, like myself, being short and middle aged, can't eat much more than that and lose weight. So the statement that JUST ABOUT…

No, I don't think so. I don't think you're attacking me personally, but I do think you're being unnecessarily snarky about my posts and I see no reason for it. You started by questioning the validity of my posts re: lap band, as if I was hiding something, when in fact it's in my profile. Besides, the band is irrelevant to…
-
*shrug* I was just going by what's in her profile. Her workout schedule is clearly outlined there. What exactly is your problem with me, anyway? I don't recall ever having seen you or had any kind of exchange with you before. Have I offended you in some way?

?

You missed my point.
-
She works out two hours a day. I would too if I had that kind of time!
-
I saw that and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the numbers, then realized they were in kJ and I had to convert. I was hoping to find a more accurate calorie count on the crepe bomb I ate, but I'm just going to guess 1500.
-
Yes it's called something like "Chocolate addiction." It's obscene. Lol
-
With all due respect, unless you're a bariatric surgeon, I think I know the difference between my nutritional and caloric needs as a lap band patient versus those of a gastric bypass patient or gastric sleeve patient, etc. better than you do. I researched the different procedures for a year before I made my decision. The…

Nope. Lap band is not the same as bariatric. My digestive system has not been altered in any way. I still absorb every nutrient and every calorie the way I did before. Don't take my word for it -- look it up.
-
I didn't pick these numbers out of the blue. I've been doing this for awhile and this is what works for me. I've already lost about 75 lbs without starving myself so I think I'm doing it right. No thyroid problems -- my only problem is 20 years of obesity plus middle age. I have a desk job so I'm considered sedentary. I…

1250 then

OP I don't know where you are, but Sheetz gas stations/convenience stores have amazingly good food for when you're on the road. I'm sure they're not the only one, so look for the big chain gas stations and you should be able to make good food choices that fit your calorie budget.

Lap band
-
She said it's "too few calories for almost everyone." I'm hardly an outlier.
-
I know and I do.
-
Actually not really. I don't know who this person is or what her circumstances are, but I'm 5'3" and 175 lbs and 49 years old and to lose just 1 lb a week I have to net around 1300. And that's at a high weight. If (when!) I get down to say, 150, still 20 lbs from my goal weight, I'll have to net 1200.
-
Yeah but she'd be hungry for most of the day if one Big Mac meal is all she could have. Better to space out the 1200 calories over the course of the day. IMO
-
I wasn't really thinking calories, I was just thinking "I'm cold and hungry and I have to get back to work asap!" And I was hungry half an hour later. Will try the chicken & wild rice next time...thanks :)
