I did lots of research on this a few months ago and didn't want to spend a fortune, so I ended up with a Reebok Fitness Dual HRM I bought at Target. It was about $45 and yes, you need the strap.

No, I really was apologizing. I really was trying to be funny. Clearly I'm not. I'm sorry for that too. Really. Not sure what else I can say.
-
*sigh* No, what I mean is I should have said "the very slim woman with large breasts," not "boy body with huge boobs." My original post was about how to log the exercise. I was trying to be funny.

I had a guy say that to me when we were dating. I was 16 years old, 5'3" and 105 lbs. I wonder if this was the beginning of my food and body image issues?

"Funny" doesn't work well in forums. I should know better.
-
Clearly I made a mistake. I was trying to be funny and lighthearted but have failed miserably. You all have my sincere apologies.
-
And BTW, the pic that's been copied above is her without the huge boobs.

LMAO Some people really need a sense of humor! I can't believe this thread has turned into such preachy, presumptuous, lecture-y (I know that's not a word but I like it) nonsense. She looked ridiculous with the huge fake boobs, not without. I never said otherwise. If she's going to deliberately get DDDDs on her slim frame…

You've already received lots of good advice (and some bad) and you've taken a huge step just recognizing the problem and coming here. I just wanted to add that while you're working on your body, don't forget to work on your head. I'm an emotional eater -- without my even realizing it, food became my main coping mechanism…

LOL Big Dave will do. I have a HR monitor it just never occurred to me to do that. You don't know the chick I'm talking about? <a href=http://www.dailyhiit.com/challenge/insanity-workout-killer-day-1-34550</a> OK so this thing doesn't do html. Just copy and paste:…

I only skimmed the bickering but I didn't see anyone mention the fact that the OP is only 18. Still a baby! He probably hasn't finished growing and filling out. I'm sure he'll put on some mass in the next couple of years naturally. To the OP, looking at your food diary, you only ate more than 2000 one day in the last…

Back in my young and stupid partying days I did a lot of coke and other forms of speed and I felt exactly how you're describing. Phentermine is an amphetamine and should only be prescribed to people for a short time who are morbidly obese and who need to lose a lot of weight fast or risk keeling over from a heart attack.…

Broke the bread habit. Bread was my go-to for everything -- toast for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, toast for snack, baguette with dinner. Now it's a rare treat.

Guilty! I don't consider it an "accurate" reading until I step on and off 3 times and it registers the same number. Can you say OCD?

I do 40/30/30 but I often go over on fat :(

You should get married when you meet someone worthy of marrying. There's no right age for it. I didn't even want to think about getting married until I was 30. I actually met my husband when I was 35...we got married a year later. In my experience, people who get married very young have a greater chance of divorce. Don't…

I'm 46 and have lost 57 lbs since summer 2011. I lost the first 20 in about 6 months by meeting regularly with a nutritionist and keeping a food log...(I can't remember how many calories I was eating then)...and by working really hard not to binge at night, which is my biggest problem. I couldn't exercise much because I…

Getting out of the car at home from the gym today, the FedEx guys slowed down and checked me out. That hasn't happened in YEARS! Major ego boost. Yeah baby.

Awesome!

You certainly don't have to starve yourself! Keep reading the forums...it's amazing what you pick up. (But be discerning, there's a lot of BS out there too). Learn about your BMR and TDEE and figure out what your calorie needs are. You'll be surprised to find that it's more than you think. General rule to follow: increase…

I'm 5'3" and 46. Why would you think that?? There's no reason why you can't lose weight unless you have a medical condition that prevents it. Start logging your food and look over your diet, see what changes you can make. Get out and start moving. If you're not used to exercise, start by just walking around the block or on…

You have made progress! You've been eating well and exercising routinely for several months -- that's progress! Your body is healthy and strong and you can see some muscle definition that wasn't there before. That's progress! As others said, belly fat is the hardest to lose. Keep at it and you'll see a change. In the…

I recently saw a documentary on Warhol and they left out all that detail. Sounds like you know what you're talking about -- you must be a medical professional. :)

No, he had a routine gall bladder surgery and due to poor medical care and over hydration (whatever the proper medical term is for that), he died in the hospital. Which reminds me...I was in the hospital for suspected malaria and they were super-hydrating me via IV since I had been so sick. I was getting up to pee…

Love water. It's all I drink. Except coffee and wine. Did you know Andy Warhol died of hyponatremia?

This is really good advice. I've become a lot more forgiving of myself (and less "all or nothing") since focusing on little victories. Some recent credit I've given myself: 1. I made it all the way through the grocery shopping without buying anything "bad" to stuff my face with in the car. 2. My weight loss has been going…
