Hi Mike! We're about the same age and yes, it's harder as we get older! Sucks, doesn't it? If only I knew then what I know now... Add me. :)

Day 8 Level 1 complete!

AHEM! You make it sound like 55 is OLD.....????? ;)

I was out for 7 weeks with pneumonia and I was so weak just taking a shower meant I had to sit down and rest for 10 minutes. I finally started moving again on November 3 and just walked. Over the next few days I was able to walk faster and further, and now I'm back up to running and doing 30DS. It's been a long, slow…

I don't think the food itself is the problem, I think it's the culture of stuffing ourselves silly that's come to be associated with this holiday. As I've "re-trained" my brain around food issues over the past couple of years, this meal won't be any different than any other. Moderate portions, balance things out with some…

I'm slacking! Went to bed late last night and just couldn't (ok, wouldn't) get up at 5:00am to do Day 7. Back to the grindstone tomorrow!!

Thank you for fixing the link, @tedrickp!

I never did get back to work. I'm reading both #oxinbox and #oxsinbox and I can't...look...away...

Nothing...it's just a twitter thing that backfired on him. Look at it, it's funny

ack...hyperlink thing doesn't work

Now I want fast fried greasies for dinner.

Exactly. I've lost and kept off about 75 lbs after surgery, and while I admit my lap-band does help, I am absolutely confident that the great majority of my success is because of discipline and hard work! And therapy! And hard work!
-
OP you don't sound like a good candidate for weight loss surgery. You want an easy fix and surgery is anything but that. I suggest you find a nutritionist and a therapist and work on your emotional relationship with food. Best of luck to you.

What "abnormalities" are you talking about?

Once you get used to eating healthier foods, a lot of the "junk" food kind of loses its appeal. I almost never eat food from chain restaurants (fast food or even "higher end" ones like Applebee's and the like), but when I have no choice, the food tastes over-processed and artificial.

I think OP is just trying to get his head back in the game after slipping a bit. I get it.

To lose weight, you can still eat the rubbish (though it's not very good for you), just eat less of it. If you want to lose weight AND be healthy, grow up and eat your veggies. :)

I can't wait to get to that point. I'm still doing girly pushups.

I tried a green juice thing the other day and it was so horrible I wanted to cry. I just had a huge wonderful lunch that I prepared this morning (grape tomatoes, mini cucumbers, yellow pepper, tuna, shredded cheddar, balsamic vinaigrette). 323 calories, 23 g protein. It was very satisfying and crunchy and delicious. Why…

Where is this 5'1" 120 lb "chick" who eats over 2000 cals a day and loses weight? Because I want to be her! I'm 5'3" 175 lbs and to lose I can't net over 1400. I work out 5-6 days a week just so I can eat 1600. I'm frustrated as hell because I still have 40+ lbs to go and I'm HUNGRY. Seriously, I don't know these tiny…

If you don't like vegs, don't eat vegs. It's that simple. Track your calories by weighing and measuring all your food, then burn more than you eat. Voila -- > weight loss

Yes but they can't do it it FOR me. Sometimes I just feel tired, ya know? :)
-
Both of these quotes are just so true for me. Right now, reading this makes me feel weary. I've come such a long way but still have so long to go, and I don't just mean with numbers of pounds lost...

Day 6 done. Did NOT want to do it, though...it was too early and I was too sleepy! But I got through it a bit half assed, but did it.
-
LOL, no I'm not old enough to be your mother-in-law! My kids are only 8 and 10. :) Besides, he started it :)

Some people just don't get it and need to have it explained and repeated numerous times. It's ok. ETA: I think my post sounded snarky and I didn't mean it that way. It's just that many times when people don't experience these things first hand it's hard for them to empathize.

ndj1979, you're not as clever as you think you are. cheers.

Thank you for the advice, sweetheart. I'll go wipe my tears and bury myself in a cheesecake now.
