Just curious, but why does the lemon in the water help?

So with all of this history, and two measured RMRs at 1207 and 1195 a week apart, and an estimated 1666 as TDEE from lifting "heavy" 3x per week for around 45 minutes, with maybe one 30 minute cardio walk per week, what number of calories should I actually be eating???

I get that, heybales. I really do! zi'm dyill noy (That last part was something that my kitten wanted to add, apparently.) I kind of expected, by that logic, to see that my weight dropped a bit during the last month on 1350ish. According to my Fitbit records, I've burned close to 7000 calories more than i've eaten over the…

I keep hearing about Baked Oatmeal. How do you all prepare it? What makes it better than oatmeal cooked on top of the stove?
-
That's what I was afraid of. Lol. :)

I created an MFP recipe that combined fresh, homemade whipped cream, fresh raspberries, and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and called it " Sin. With raspberries! ". Lol.

I wonder if anybody really does log cake under the heading of broccoli? I might "forget" to put something small down, but I don't think I could actually just out and out lie. Of course, not putting something down is sort of lying anyway, I guess.

I was there at 1650 for about 10 weeks, I think. Maybe 11. It was toward the end of that time that the scale started creeping up by a few pounds and staying there, and the very minimal clothing change (in the waist) reversed. Again, at that point, I think I was starting to think, "Oh, well...nothing's working anyway. Might…

Ice cream AND cereal both are risk factors for me! Lol!
-
<---- I'd be scared by me, wouldn't you? :)

It seems like I started to gain when I was eating 1650. Realistically, I was probably eating a bit more than 1650, with the inevitable "rounding up". :blushing: I've dropped down to 1350, but nothing's happening on that so far. I'm trying to be patient. I'm really missing those 300 calories, though! :)

She is doing it all wrong! Look at that! No shower curtain??? Her floor is going to get all wet!

I was having the same problems as a lot of people on here. I was not losing any weight. I tried raising my calories to various levels, and nothing was happening. I had my Resting Metabolic Tate (RMR) medically tested, and it turned out that it was 1195, instead of the 1490 it should have been, according to the charts. I'm…

On the up-side, I measured my body fat with an Omron at the gym today, and it was 36.2%! That's the first time it's been below 37%!

I did get a Polar FT7 recently that I've used a few times so far. I've been focusing on weight training lately, and apparently they aren't very accurate for that. I know that they are not supposed to be accurate at all to try to wear all day, though I'm tempted to try it, just to see what it says. I didn't stick with every…

Yes, it's SO worth it!!! Also, you don't have to run. I'm not allowed to do so with my joint problems, but walking works just fine. Like someone said earlier, as long as you increase your speed by 20%, it doesn't matter if you are walking or running!

Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!!!! Don't forget to eat three spoonfuls of cabbage soup every 37 minutes on the odd hours, and every 39.3 minutes on the even hours. Set a timer, because if you miss your window, EVERY POUND YOU'VE EVER LOST WILL INSTANTLY REAPPEAR ON YOUR HIPS!!!!!!

bump for good lunch ideas!

Totally laughing at how lentils were "gateway beans" for somebody! Heeheehee...

Y'all are lucky! I'm 5'2.5" (hey, the half is important at our size!) and I've been really struggling. I couldn't find any calorie level that let me lose, so I finally got my Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) tested. 1207. *kicks some really big rocks*. I'm still trying to decide how to work it out so that I DON'T get stuck…

Just don't do it like this!!! Lol! :)

You are very helpful, and I appreciate that! Yeah, I'm not really sure how to figure the TDEE thing. It does seem low... Maybe I should do one of those "what do you do every second of the day MET type tests...

I had to nose around the Interwebs for awhile before I found a place, but a lot of gyms and heath clubs do them now. Look for "metabolic testing" services. The printout didn't say 1666, the dietician did, based on what I told her about my exercise. I started doing this in earnest on June 1st. I stayed at 1200 for two or…

I don't see anything from you there.... ?

Hello! Some of you wanted to know how the test turned out. My Resting Metabolic Rate test this morning turned out to be below normal at 1207. Her calculations put me at 1666 for my TDEE. She wants me to drop to 1200 calories per day. She thinks I have not been gaining or losing because 1650 would be my maintenance. She…

Share away! What have you been doing? :)

Sorry... :( I really miss my mommy, too. I lost her when I was 23, right after my twins were born. There's nothing like your mommy. Hugs, hugs, huggity hugs to you, my dear.

I think you could only substitute that for water if you actually put water in it. Just tea bags, Splenda and lemon juice would probably not be very thirst-quenching.
