I'm thinking of getting a FITBIT, so I have a clarification question. Are you sayin you don't have to log it if you have your FITBIT synced to MyFitnessPal? In other words, if they are not linked together you would log it?

Fantastic! You inspire me!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel. I get to where I think I can only lose if I do NS or something like that. Deep inside, I know It's really not true! I've come to the realization that it's 1) going to come off very slowly, 2) going to show a gain from time to time even when I'm trying to lose, 3) going to take effort to truely…

I'm right there with you. Been going through menopause this last year. Gained about 10 pounds mostly in abdomen, having hot flashes, and sleep issues. I'm just trudging through! I do take magnesium, Vit D & B and Calcium and sometimes Evening Primrose Oil capsules. I was already about 12 pounds up from where I wanted to…

"Her voice keeps me moving I love it." quote [/quote] Agree! I wouldn't bother doing the video without her talking me through it and keeping me motivated! She is cheerful and motivating without being phony. I have about 12 of her videos and have lost weight using only her videos and then walking outside during lunch time.

Wonderful thread! I just went through menopause and gained about 15 pounds last year. I've always been one who went up and down the same 10 to 15 pounds, but now I have about 25 to lose and I just dont' have any energy, etc.. Also, most of my clothes don't fit and I'm dead set against buying another larger size! I'm glad…

good info! I'm saving this for when I get my Fitbit!

Bumping to see if I can get any feedback.. thanks

Curious about the 150-200 calories for 40 minutes on the bike. That sounds really low, unless you're at a low effort rate. When I do "vigorous effort" on the stationary bike for 40 minutes it's at least doube that in calories no matter which calculator I use!

12 lbs in a month is fantastic!!!!!! You're doing great!!! ps. people at the gym are probably inspired by you....
-
Yep I agree, have some protein too!

Hang in there! I should be super skinny if that diary was correct about where I should be in 5 weeks! I know that I've felt like "giving up" many, many times, but really, what does giving up mean??? There is no giving up, this is the rest of your life and you can and will get where you need to be!!!!! Others are giving you…

Nicely said!! I can very much relate to the original poster! I'm trying to find that balance in enjoying life and keeping weight in check! One other thing that helps me is that I've gotten to a point that when i go out for dinner, which is a lot, I can usually eat just half my meal and take the other half home. When I go…

I feel for you so much! I lost my mom about 7 years ago and it seems like yesterday. Whenever I'm really missing my mom, especially on special occasions, I think about how she would want me to be happy and not want me to be in pain. It sound like your parents raised a wonderful daughter in you! Take care.....

Here's a good one: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm and this one too! http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced Remeber they are only a guide and you'll have to adjust as necessary if your weight goes in the wrong direction.

I just work in 10 minutes here and 15 minutes there for exercise on some days. Just do small bits of exercise on the days you don't think you have time. It really does add up! On the food, make sure you're tracking everything. Once it's in writing and you see it, it can be motivating to eat better. Good luck!

I average .5 or less per week. It's slow but it's working.

Yes, I've done WW off and on for the last 20 years! I keep going up and down the same 20 pounds. What I've finially found is that when i was doing WWs "I was on a diet" mentally. I was either on or off program, never a real lifestyle change. some people can make it a lifestyle change on WW, but I just never did. After…

Are you tracking everything? That would be a start. Once you see what you're eating in writing, and the bottom line each day, it can be motivating to get on track!

Here are a couple of really good calculators for figuring calories that I like: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm (that one has zig zag options too, etc.) http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced (that one has a really good TDEE calculator) just make sure you're eating enough…

Congrats on your success!!!

Dolphintwin20: I really like this calculator because it's more detailed than any others that I've found: http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced

You go girl!! I'm with you! I've been eating under my TDEE, exercising, etc. and that darn scales says that I gained 2 pounds this last week. My clothes are definitely looser and I'm wearing things that I haven't in months. Stupid scale...!
-
Congrats! I can relate to your post!

Are you talking about eating the amount of calories needed to maintain your goal weight?
-
I'm familiar with that slippery slope you're heading down! As far as the working out, maybe just try to fit in 10 minutes somewhere in your day. Take a break for just 10 minutes and go for a walk. That 10 minutes will go by so quickly, you'll likely get back in the mind set of "I can do this" and "that wasn't so bad"! The…

Wish I could give you some pointers, but I'm averaging 1/2 pound a week! Yep, 2 pounds a month for 3 months now! I work out 6 days a week for about 45 mins, eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. One thing I've been doing is weighing, measuring, etc. to make sure I'm counting calories right. We'll see how it goes....

Good for you! I read that other post too about getting over it, good stuff!
