  • Yup, not a great start - pigged out after failing to lose any weight for a fortnight. Very disheartened. Must log on here every day. Me: 0 Binge: 1
  • ^^ just as thooks says - I'm not a big breakfast eater but always have about 5-6 hours between breakfast and lunch (I'm an early riser - 5-6.30am!!). I often go for a poached egg on rye bread, or oats with nuts and almond milk. If I'm really pushed for time I'll either boil an egg the night before and eat it cold the next…
  • Here's to everyone on this journey!! Off on holiday to Italy this month and LOVE Italian food! But I can beat the binge and this thread is going to help me keep accountable. Me: 0 The Binge: 1
  • I upped from 1200 recently due to feeling knackered and grumpy all the time at that level! Now on 1300-1400 most days for the past three weeks. Haven't seen a weight loss in a fortnight, and actually gained a pound last week so feeling really down about it all. Interested to hear what other people say.
  • Hmm, for some reason MFP doesn't like the yahoo link I posted - try this one: http://www.webmd.com/add-adhd/news/20130227/shared-genes-may-link-adhd-autism-and-depression
  • Straight person really hoping this thread doesn't get reported - are people really that awful? Sadly, the answer is probably yes. I read this because my youngest son said to me today, 'I don't know if I'm gay yet or not, Mummy, but I do hope they change the law and let men marry men and ladies marry ladies because love is…
  • ^^this with bells on! Oh, how I love you!
  • Yep, I've plateaued too - and I'm not even sure how to spell it. Only thing I would suggest is to take some measurements and keep an eye on those as well as your weight. I've lost inches, but the scale has actually gone up by 1lb over the past 3 weeks. Also note how your clothes feel on you. I have a pair of low…
  • I hear you sister!! I'm 5ft 3 and weigh 161. To lose a 1lb a week I'd have to be on a net of 1200 - like you say, it's ok when you can get some exercise in but it's very hard to stay that low otherwise. I had dreadful fatigue, headaches, low mood etc. Recently upped my cals to 1330 and trying to move more on the days I…
  • Essex girl here!! So jokes about paddling through puddles in white stilettos could easily be added.... ;) Feel free to add me fellow UK residents; I can gripe and snark and provide self-deprecating sarcasm for many, many people. Oh, and I might be supportive as well! xx
  • Hi lovely Finnish lady! I've found this site very supportive. Feel free to add me if you like, although I'll admit I'm struggling the past few weeks and have put a bit of the weight I lost back on over Christmas and New Year. You sound like you have a fantastic attitude xx
  • I've just joined fitocracy and am rather addicted, even in my puny state!! My username on there is exactly as it is here - primrosehill. Anyone can add me, I'm not that choosy
  • Oh wow wow WOW! You're all so darn hot and healthy looking peeps!! I so love strength training but suffer from lordosis (weird curvature of spine - runs in the family!) and need to work out how I can develop upper body strength whilst not crippling my back. Is core strength the answer? I'd love to have a session with a…
  • I soooo love this! Shall we start a little 'journaling' group? Sticking together and hearing other people's tales might help? Let me know if you're up for it anyone and if we have a few people I'll try to work out how to start a group forum xxx
  • Wow, that's unbelievable! Did you reply by saying you were happy for him to defriend you as you couldn't possibly be friends with a d*ckhead??! xxx
  • Davina McCall's gurning! Nell MCAndrew still looking gorgeous when I'm in a heap on the floor
  • There are some great recommendations here! And so nice to know that in the quest for the body beautiful we're not prepared to let our cerebral sides down! Keep 'em coming book-lovers. I must get me some Gaiman....
  • I read Ulyssees when I was 17. Tried to read it again a couple of months back and struggled!
  • Oh no! Melville had his whale censored!! Ok, I'll make it 'Anna Karenina' in light of the new film adaptation. Surely sitting on my backside at the cinema will make me look like Keira Knightley - no? x
  • I loved 'Pure'. Not yet read any Iain Banks but am planning to do so. Latest current fav reads are Ned Beauman's 'The Teleportation Accident' and Cynthia Ozick's 'Foreign Bodies'. Ozick writes beautiful flowing prose which really gets you into the heads of her characters and there are no neat realist trajectories - it's…
  • Just finished Jenny Diski's 'The Sixties' and now re-reading Dawkin's' 'The God Delusion'
  • Thanks people! I shall definitely be going the combination route but as I love strength training I might ramp that up a bit - it gives me a real buzz! xx
  • 31 August Me: 27 Binge: 4 This is the best record I've had for at least 4 years!! I'm now up to reducing the binge even further in September! Well done everyone who kept going through the whole month. Whether you met your goals or felt you could have done better, keeping a track of your eating is definitely key to losing…
  • That's just great. People don't realise how hard these people work just to get through each day - you must be so proud and I'm sure he'll get a great confidence boost from proving to himself he can do it. xxx

  • As of 30 August: Me: 26 Binge:4 You can do this! I've been a binger/purger/anorexic for 20 years but have really noticed a massive change for the better in the last few months, pretty much all down to using MFP. It takes time to break entrenched habits but it's absolutely worth it. xx
  • That's a fabulous difference! I'm off to take pics right now!! xx
  • August 24 Me: 20 Binge: 4 Not a horrendous one, just a 'I've only had 4 hours sleep and I need more food to keep going' one! But I did log over 2000 calories so I'm counting it.
  • Me - 16 The Binge - 3 I would so love to keep it at 3 for the whole month - 12 days to go! Are we doing this again in Sept? I'm going to log it myself, definitely.
  • Bless you. I don't know how tall you are or what your frame is like so I can't really comment on whether 115 is a good target for you, but I do understand your anxiety and your need to break the binge/purge cycle - I've suffered from it for years. How long have you been on MFP? Do you try to eat 3 meals a day? It sounds…
