Weekly Goal: 4000 Mon: 458 (karate. Would normally be an Arm night, but my hands are torn and blistered and I have to lay off until they heal. :( ) Tues: 1200 (karate class) Wed: 402 (kata. Slow, careful kata. I see the doc tomorrow, so hopefully I should know soon if I can go back to working hard.) Thur: Had to take a day…

I'm a kick-butt female. No, really. I do martial arts. I kick people's butts. Well, not their butts. That would be completely innefective. I kick their kidneys and heads and knees. I guess that makes me a kick-knees female?

Oh yay, another Jason Good fan! I **love** his "Approximately 3 Minutes Inside the Head of My 2 Year-Old" ( http://jasongood.net/365/2011/08/day-215-approximately-3-minutes-inside-the-head-of-my-2-year-old/ )

I grew up Mormon, with a VERY conservative mother, so my siblings and I got pretty creative. I think my favorite was "Globber monkey." It's just really fun to say! Now that I'm grown and an atheist, I could feasibly say whatever I want, but I've never gotten out of the habit of using less-offensive words. My go-to curse is…

When Alexander Bell invented the telephone he had 3 missed calls from Chuck Norris Fear of spiders is arachnophobia, fear of tight spaces is claustrophobia, fear of Chuck Norris is called Logic Chuck Norris doesn't call the wrong number. You answer the wrong phone. Chuck Norris has already been to Mars; that's why there…

None, but that's only because they haven't arrived yet! SO impatient! ::stamps foot:: Hurry up, girl scouts!

Chocolate milkshake. I love them... which is undoubtedly how I became overweight! So now I give myself one after my karate class once a month. I burn 1200+ calories in class, so I know on those days I have room for it. :)

My daughter is three, so our days are pretty flexible, but a general day looks like this: She gets up, she eats breakfast, and I take my meds. (Can't eat for at least an hour after that.) She watches a cartoon or two, I do my online stuff. We play, or do chores together, or in the summer this is when we go outside, before…

I was the most awful snacker you've ever seen. The only thing that helped me was giving myself one "treat" at night, and telling myself I had to work out first. For some reason, knowing it was coming kept me from heading right for the kitchen during the day, and by exercising first it reminded me why I'm trying to be…

First off, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Second, feel free to add me. :)

You look great! And can I just say that I am INSANELY jealous of people who had children and don't have stretch marks on their belly? Mine are all over! :(

"It's too hard for me." Well, duh. Nobody starts anything and finds it EASY. You have to work up to being like those insane weight lifters, or marathon runners, or Jackie Chan. If you never start because it's hard, it can never get easy.

If your BMR is 1650, you need to be netting at least that much and a little more. And then if you exercise, make sure you're eating those back!

5'4, and my starting weight was around 147-ish. It took about three or four weeks before I could see a real change when I looked in the mirror, but I was losing weight from week one. I only measure every few weeks, but every time I do the number has gone down.

I'm really not much for caffeine - I hate the crash. I did have a can of coke with dinner before working out, but only half. The odd thing is, aside from feeling rather tired and a little lightheaded, which could be attributed to working out all by itself, I felt absolutely fine.

If your workouts aren't every day, you can calculate your TDEE without including them, and then add the exercise calories to your number and eat them back when you do work out. :)

I eat them. Quite frankly, I don't have time to make everything from scratch, and even if I did, that's too big a lifestyle change for me to keep long-term. I have a husband and a 3-year-old, and you can bet they wouldn't follow me on a "clean" diet, haha! Not to mention, I love breakfast cereals and such. :D

I went from 1220 + exercise calories to eating a static number of 1700, which I calculated out using my TDEE -20% after including a basic exercise schedule. I've been losing a pretty steady 1 -1.5 per week, and I'm satisfied! :)

Elijah Wood. My sister and some friends and I went to the Laugh Factory in Cali on the night of her bachelorette party, and made her wear a ridiculous outfit to get put in the front row so the comedians would tease her. (Which they did.) When it was over, we discovered Elijah Wood had been there when he came up and…

Well, that depends. Did you set yourself as "sedentary"? If you did, then yes. If you set yourself as "lightly active" then probably no, unless it was unusually hard. Honestly, if you're eating your BMR + a small amount, usually 50-100, you're probably fine as long as chores are normal for you. If you know your TDEE, and…

I heartily endorse the Boppy. My daughter breastfed on it, and when she began to sit up we placed it around her so when she fell she wouldn't hit her head. And honestly, I wound up getting two, because I was VERY sore for a month after giving birth, and could only manage to sit up if I sat on it. ::blush:: That is the…

^ That's what I do. I find a "ny style pizza" in the database and count that. I figure it's better than nothing, right? So far it doesn't seem to hinder my progress. :)

I am *exactly* the same way. I'd been telling myself for months I would start WHEN _____. (Fill in the blank - when warm weather returned. After the candy was out of the house. When my daughter started preschool.) Finally I looked myself in the eye and said "I'm starting NOW. If I can't find a way to fit living mostly…

I do karate 5 days a week, and most days I work out for 30 minutes and burn 500-ish calories if I go hard the whole time, so I totally believe your calorie count. Just remember - you get out what you put in, so if you're moving fast and hitting hard, you're burning tons! :)

26 years old 5'4 Highest weight was 150, once upon a time. SW 146 GW 125 Everyone can feel free to add me, but I'm not a "clean eater" by any means, and have had some off-days the past week or two.
