I saw your post on your competing in a figure competition, and I'm currently prepping for my first in May! I'd love any advice and support along the way :-)

Research reverse dieting. Sometimes when people restrict their calories for too long, your metabolism takes a hit and your leptin levels (good for burning fat) derease. Thats why a lot of people recommend and occassional cheat meal. If increasing your calories work for losing weight, then its probably something you should…

This wraps up my first week of IF, and I must say I'm liking it so far! I haven't had any issues with being too hungry, and I have already lost 2 lbs! It may be water weight, but I'm defintely feeling better eating larger meals, and not having to obsess about it every 3 hours. And suprisingly, my workouts have been great.…

Thanks for all the helpful replies! There are a lot of people who either love or loathe the idea, but I'm excited to give it a try. I will follow up with my results in a month :-)

About the eggs, whats even more shocking is that there are 70 calorie and 4.8g of fat (which equals about 44 calories from fat alone) in 1 large egg; however only 15 calories in 1 large egg white and no fat. I always thought that scrambled eggs were a great breakfast. Who knew. And about the cheese, yes full fat cheese…

I normally do a cold cut like turkey and string cheese (weight watchers smoked mozzarella). It's only about 100 calories and all protein so it won't turn in to fat. Its actually good to eat a little something before bed. I don't know if you're up for it, but if it makes you feel any better, as soon as you get up do like 15…

Entrees: Some sort of amazing cheeseburger (nothing fancy. I just want lettuce, tomatoes, pickels, mayo, and ketchup, American cheese, and the bun to be toasted in butter) A chimichanga with lots of queso and all the fixins Fried fish or fried chicken with a piece of white bread French Fries AND my own potato salad…

High intensity interval training (aka HIIT). It's great for burning fat, and you burn more calories in a shorter amount of time, meaning you don't have to run 5 miles! An example would be warming up for 5 minutes with a brisk walk, then doing 20-45 second sprints at the highest speed you can take, and then recovering for…

Speaking as a women who has been in the military for almost 11 years, deployed myself, husband deployed twice, and seen lots of families go through the exact same situation, I think it is the worst idea ever. Every situation that I have seen like this (probably over 20) has ended in divorce. It's like putting the cart…

You have to encorporate strength training and eat no less than 1200 calories or you will be eating away at your muscle, and that in turn eats away at your metabolism, which is what makes your body burn fat and calories. You need to be eating more quality food (lean proteins, veggies, and whole grains). Do strength training…
