A friend of mine gave me venison steaks. What do you do for yours? Can you grill them like beef steak? Does it dry out?

Yes, maybe it will help with the overeating. If I can do some push-aways they might be better for me than push-ups? Also, Wednesday is a weight circuit day for me. My partner is not going to the gym, I may go by myself, but not as early. We did not do Christmas shopping madness so there is not much under the tree. We do…

No one has ever said that to me. I guess the first one that does, I will kiss full on on the mouth. Maybe with a little tongue. Seriously though, I do know some people will work against you and that may be one of those tactics. Others think it is a way of giving a backhanded compliment, as in, "Damn girl you are looking so…

What she said X10. When you make eye contact, you move from victim to eye witness.

I can't stop watching this train wreck.

Original Poster, you could have asked the question in a less snarky way, and Secondary (and Tertiary) Posters could have responded in less snarky ways, as well.
Gym rats? Do tell.
Sarauk... sorry about that, it was a rude term and not necessary. My apologies.

I stand corrected on my first thoughts. I began writing my reply before seeing that Original Poster was looking for something other than what I thought he was. It appears now that he might be looking for "clients." The post here is a good way NOT to find "clients," if he is looking for people to buy weight loss products.…

Actually the original poster is correct in putting his post here. The message board "General DIET and WEIGHT LOSS Help." Instead of going ballistic on him because he might have been snarky to the gym rats or because he is what you folks call a "troll," maybe someone can answer his question about how much should we pay…

That sounds about right. I have Yo-Yo'ed up and down in weight much like you, but add another 17 years to it and about 25 more lbs. and heart attacks and heart surgery and you have my story. I have lost 40 lbs. in a four month period, adding it back before the end of the calendar year. My low (or high) was hitting 320.4…

Incredible success. Thanks for sharing it with us.

You rocked it Brian! That is an incredible victory for a former fat guy! Congratulations. Tim

You might try asking the wait staff to divide the meal and have a to-go box for you at the end of the evening. This could address lunch the next day, too.

24 hour gym. Each member gets an electronic entry fob. Not sure about classes, etc., as I do not do that. I think I will lay off on Christmas Day. Sleep in. I usually wake up at 5:45-6:00 for a morning workout with my friend of about 45 minutes. We do strength on M-W-F and then on-our-own for cardio T-Th-Sat. Have laid off…

The 1500 recommended by AHA is for those with heart disease and blood pressure issues. I think most people that end up Googling their way to the AHA website have those issues. If you have those, then the lower sodium amount may be helpful in addressing it without so much medications. Here is info on some of the worst…

Try this program from the Mayo Clinic. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/walking/SM00060 It is a walking program that builds weekly.

Be careful. Talk with your doctor before starting anything. With this much weight, there could be other factors that come into consideration: heart, joints, endurance, etc. Don't try to take it all off at one time. You didn't put it on in a week, it won't come off in a week, or a month, either. This was advice given to me…

Cream from the whip is the only way I take my coffee now!

There is a good Beck's Light beer that is 64 cals. Better than the American low cal beers. If you like amber beers, or darker ones, and can find it outside of Texas, try Shiner Light (It is a Bohemian Texan's idea of alight beer, about 110 cals per bottle). You don't feel like you are drinking a light beer, but can't drink…

Let us know how the job search goes for ya
That is probably solid, though snarky, advice. If the boss in question is willing to make these kinds of comments with others around, then she will not very likely take well to being called on the carpet about it, regardless of whether it is in private or not. She is not…

Like that answer!

Be careful how you tread because you may be treading out the door. You said that she is your boss in a "small start up." Is she the owner? How far up the food chain is she? What is the corporate atmosphere at your company, as in, will anyone really give a damn that she makes snarky remarks about your eating habits. Today,…

I have been a yo-you dieter for a long time. About every three to five years I try a new one. I even fell for the damned Cabbage Soup diet (a horrible gastronomical month -- emphasis on GAS!). I put this APP on my phone, have shortcuts to it on my work computer and home computer, laptop and iPad. (I am geeky and…

Add me. I have 120+ lbs. to lose. Not in a foot race to do it, as I have lost and gained so much weight so fast that it will make your head spin. I want to lose weight, attain health and keep a life that can nourish me and keep me around for a while. Good luck to you.

This girl rocks. She is a MFP friend and is religious about logging her diet and exercise and is helping me to be that way as well as I am at the beginning of my life transformation. KT is positive and assuring. Great things are in store: a longer, less troubled life, happiness, health and the ability to take on any task…

Avocado is a very good source for healthy fat content. Olive oil is too. Nuts also have a good fat content: walnuts, almonds, etc. If you have salt issues, look for the unsalted kind. Salmon and tuna both have the good fats. This may be helpful for you: http://www.uccs.edu/Documents/peakfood/hlthTopics/Meal%20Planning.pdf

Rock on Crusher. The Thanksgiving holiday was not as bad as I feared, considering I had not one but two family gatherings. After an early Thanksgiving lunch with in-laws, took a 2.5 mile walk and had only one serving of dessert. Also, only one small scoop of dressing, which is usually one of my over-indulgences. The next…

Starting Weight 320.4 CW (12/02/2013): 312.0 lbs. I have lost 8 lbs. since 10/29/2013 with 30 miles of walking. Will commit to 3X30 minutes of beginner level weightlifting per week, also 40 miles of walking for the month of December. Have a calorie goal of about 1930 cals per day to lose 2 lbs. per week. Any ideas of what…
