I try to have a ruby red grapefruit, an apple and some pineapple every day. I continue to lose weight just fine.

I would say combine MFP with Body for Life. :)

We keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge all the time. They are easy to grab and go and lots of protein. You can easily limit to only eating the whites as well.

Used to drink 10 cups a day but I work around the clock rotating shifts. I also would have several sodas a day. I started getting heart palpatations just sitting on the couch so stopped coffee cold turkey for a year and a half. The last 6 months I no sodas either.
