  • For the sake of trying to eat as healthy as possible and only eating what my body can efficiently use as fuel I would pick the salmon (although I don't know what quinoa is?) I am trying to avoid dairy, enriched flour and grease so the burrito is out of the question.
  • As far as I know there is no way to do it... You could always just make a note of it and don't go past that goal... I wish we could have this feature!
  • My husband and I try to eat the best we can and hold each other accountable as we both could "stand to lose a few pounds." However, we also live with other people who don't have that conviction. There is often "junk" in the house and although it is hard to resist I've learned to just ignore it with the philosophy, "It's…
  • Switch to diet... they taste the same and no calories!!! I drink them all the time but they will give you the same headache if you stop drinking them... but if it's the calories your worried about, diet is great!!!
  • If I make a pot of something... it's usually only enough for the 4 of us and we usually all eat the same amount... so I'll plug in the whole container or ingredient but in the serving section I'll put .25 for a quarter of that ingredient.
  • I'm working off this philosophy... 'Choose foods that feed your body, instead of foods that feed your flesh.'
  • I've noticed an interesting trend in America's food market... The healthier it is, the more expensive it is!!! Just take a look at 5 different menus at different restaurants and the 'light' or 'diet' menus always cost a few dollars more than the regular... and you know it's probably cheaper to make... I guess they figure…
  • I don't log things that are zero calories... I figure why bother!! Other than that I don't log diet sodas or gum... If I'm snacking on a thing of tic-tacs I will record that (It might sound weird but it's low cal and cheaty, lol) ... If I eat something real late at night I try to log it the next day but sometimes I'm like…
  • Don't feel so terrible!! My 'splurge day' today (it's my one day a week where I can eat some goodies) yielded about 2,000 calories over my limit of 1,000. But I've done perfect for a whole week... so one day is not going to derail anything... just work out at least every other day or so and shave back a few calories here…
  • I noticed that if I eat just one piece of fruit a day I still go over on sugar... but I try to avoid 'real' sugar and sweets like the plague... I just can't do them in moderation so I stay away... Another rule of mine is never to drink sugar!!! For one my lack of a gallbladder calls for this but also it's really…
  • I really just have to say... If diet soda was really that poisonous... I would have been dead by now!!!
  • One thing I've really had to work on (still not perfect) is making sure I only eat when I'm physically hungry... most of the time I find myself going for seconds or mindlessly snacking and I'll realize... I'm not even hungry!!! So I have to ask myself all the time... Am I really hungry??... Do I really need that snack??…
  • I had mine taken out a couple years ago... One night I laid down to go to sleep and had this excruciating pain in my abdomen... I could not take the pain anymore... I seriously thought my appendix had exploded.... I went to the emergency room and they diagnosed that I had gall stones... A couple days latter I had the…
  • There is freedom for both you and your husbands patterns... accountability is everything! The Internet is a both a useful and dangerous tool. My husband and I are never on a computer without the other there because there is so much lust on the Internet today. My husband is a minister and has helped many people achieve…
  • Oh my gosh! Just don't let me anywhere near a buffet on a 'bad day!' It's not pretty! I've easily racked up 4 or 5 thousand calories and that's not counting some of the condiments and stuff... In my younger days I would have been proud, but now I'm rather disturbed...lol :)
  • Amen Sister! I commend you for wanting to be obedient to God with your diet... The Lord has shown me and others that a healthy diet is a holy diet but also that He doesn't shame or condemn us when we make mistakes... That is just His nature! Also, in Matthew 25 it says that in the last-days some will be "...eating,…
  • I'm so super busy in the morning I don't even have time to think about food until 12 or 1 pm
  • Hello everybody... I'm 22 years old, recently married... I've been heavy ever since I was young... I weighed 300 plus my junior year in high school... The Lord has helped me most of the way but I am having a hard time with this last 35-40 pounds or so... I would love to be an encouragement for others and make great friends…
