I am six months out, and for me, I have had a complete shift in mentality about food. I've shifted to a food for fuel mentality. I follow my doctor's orders, and I rarely deviate from that path. When I do deviate, it's a small taste after I've had my protein. Good luck!

I get the McCormick White Chicken Chili spice packet, but I add stuff to it...it doesn't look white anymore... -Do whatever the package says but add below: -Can corn, drained -Extra can of beans, red or white -Green chilies (canned) -2 habanero peppers, fresh chopped (love heat) -Onion -Extra chicken breast -Onion powder…

I agree with ^^^. I stall every three weeks. Keep pushing through the plateaus and check in with your nutritionist. Maybe he/she can recommend some changes to your diet to jump start your loss.

Hi all! I had my sleeve done on June 14th, 2012, and I'm currently half way to my goal of 160. Feel free to add me for motivation and support! :)

I had mine done on June 14th. It was the best decision I have ever made! I feel so good about myself and the decisions I have been making. I am currently down 81 pounds, and my self esteem is through the roof. :) The day of the surgery I was a nervous wreck. I had never had a surgery before, but the docs will give you…

We don't really get along, but she was trying to be nice... I laughed about this for about a week solid! :)

(At the time, I had lost 75 pounds...) Coworker: OMG, pretty soon I am going to walk in and see a floating head. Me: What? Coworker: You're losing so much weight there is going to be nothing left of you. Me: Awkward silence...Thanks! Strange smile... -Scene closed- (-.-)

Have you thought about trying various cuts of the pants? I have found that I am curvy, and the cut is definitely what helps. Good luck!

Here are some suggestions: 1. Try air-popped popcorn w/popcorn seasoning (lower calorie and delicious) 2. Try drinking water before you eat. Usually people mistake hunger for thirst. 3. While you're eating, don't drink. It will help you not over eat while you are snacking. 4. If you CAN avoid carbs, try protein-rich snacks…

I agree with Stephanie.

This may sound silly, but have you thought about resetting yourself to "factory settings?" What I mean by this is shocking yourself back into the groove? I have heard of people going back to the pre-op/post op diet to shock the system into working again. It's just a thought. Also, how much protein are you eating? Sometimes…

Hi! I'm 27 and married, so I am not sure if I can relate on the dating thing, but fooding, yes. :) I am always looking for motivated and energetic friends on MFP. Add me if you'd like! How do you handle girl's night out? -I was never a big drinker. Up until about a week and a half ago, I hadn't had a drink since surgery. I…

I chose the sleeve. For me, it was between the same two that you are looking at. I like the idea that the portion of my stomach that makes me hungry is gone. Plus, my pouch is small; I only eat 5-6 ounces in a sitting. I feel like I've been pretty successful up to this point. I had surgery on June 14th, and I've lost 74…

There are three kinds of shakes that I like. The one thing they have in common is that they are premixed. I think that's the key in avoiding the grittiness. 1. Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe (Buy it at Sam's Club - 30 G protein) 2. EAS Myoplex Light (Buy this at Walmart, Walgreens, etc.) 3. Muscle Milk Light (Buy this at…

I am taking 5000 mcg of Biotin. I'm losing hair, but it will eventually stop. I hope! Good luck!

I went back to a conference after a week and a half. (Mostly sitting, some walking) Everyone is different. I would take at least two weeks off if I were you. Just in case!!!

I'm Victoria, 27. I am looking to lose 166 pounds, and I've lost 63 pounds so far. I do keep an open diary, and I like to give and receive positive comments and encouragement. Notice: I have had weight loss surgery, and I do eat about 1000 calories a day. I am not starving myself, and I regularly see my nutritionist. (I…

Have you thought about eating every 3-4 hours? Try eating lean meats and protein & good fats. :) Good luck!

I sometimes get hiccups, fullness feeling, runny noses, and very tired of chewing.

Work on eating smaller meals throughout the day. Each meal should be packed with protein. Good luck! My college years were the hardest.

I have a few suggestions... Have you considered... 1. Drinking a glass of water? Sometimes hunger is really thirst. 2. Eat a decent amount of protein for dinner. 3. Space your meals out to where you're eating smaller amounts of food throughout the day. Then a small snack after dinner would be more fuel, as opposed to a…

I agree with all of the people who have mentioned protein anything. Chobani Greek yogurt (my favs are pineapple and peach) Pure Protein bars- You can find these at Walmart (My favorite is the chocolate deluxe) Premier Protein chocolate protein shakes- You can find these at Sam's Club These are my go-to quick ones.

I weigh nearly every day. I monitor what I eat carefully, and when I allow myself to have bites of fruit and carbs, I have noticed that the next day the number doesn't budge. I think that's my body's way of saying, "be careful!" Plus, I don't want to fall back on all of the progress I've made. I remember how much I used to…

I am 8 weeks out, and I'm down 46 pounds with the sleeve. :) Best decision ever. If anyone wants a friend or MFP support, add me as a friend. :)

I seem to go through weekly plateaus. If you're getting the recommended amounts of protein and water, you should consider trying to get more in (if possible). Also, are you working out? Maybe add one extra day of cardio in or strength training...that may help you. My weekly goal for working out is 5x a week. :) I know I'm…

Welcome! :) Feel free to add me if you'd like! :)

My surgeon had me on a semi-liquid diet. I was allowed to have two protein shakes a day plus a modest meal for dinner. There were special rules for the last meal, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. Good luck!

I was sleeved on 6/14. :) I keep my diary open and am always looking for support and encouragement.

Thanks for the information!
