  • Good morning, everyone! I am optimistic after meeting with the trainer yesterday and finally getting onboard for the 6-week fitness challenge at my gym. Took a slide class this morning, introductory and just for fitness challenge members. Anyone tried it? Very weird. Still, proud that I got there. I am going to participate…
  • Off to a slow start, but I'm back on track. Meeting with a trainer today to set goals for the last 4 weeks of a 6-week fitness challenge. Got a late start, but I'm going to get what I can get out of it anyway. Summer is fast approaching.
  • Thanks, Margie. CW 152.4 GW 148
  • Don't know how to cut and paste, but I want to thank you all for keeping this thread going. I'm one of the MIA's and I'm sorry to say that I've gained during this challenge. It's okay, I've been dealing with a serious change in life-style that must precede any other changes I plan to make, so I'm going to be kind to…
  • Hi, everyone! I'm sorry I've been scarce. Been dealing with some personal issues that took priority. Since they've been hampering my weight loss, I'll consider it progress, albeit of a non-scale victory kind. Got back to the gym today, which felt great. Weight holding steady at 150.0 so no loss in a couple of weeks, but I…
  • Sorry, Margie, to lengthen your chart, but I've been so inspired by this group that I want to stay in! Didn't make either of the last two prior goals, but I AM losing weight and this group helps me keep trying. SW 150.0; Goal Weight 144.0. Thanks!
  • I am SO upfor this challenge! But tell me, when is Mother's Day this year?
  • Margie, Ha! That may be the only benefit of being the "keeper of the log" -- you get to wait until the very last second to weigh in! I'll add mine from this morning: 150.6, down 5 lbs from when we started. Not where I wanted to be, but I've added daily exercise to my routine and stopped drinking, two major lifestyle…
  • 151.8 today, down 3.8 from when I started. Will not make my goal, but I'm making major lifestyle changes and giving it time. You all are an inspiration.
  • Hey, Bob, I'm not sure anyone welcomed you. Just get what you can out of this. I appreciate the candor and associating with people who share the same issues I do. I could care less for cookies, cake, chocolate, but man, do I want a glass of wine (or so) at the end of every day.
  • I'm right here with you! Am trying not to drink during the week, which is easier somehow than trying to have a single glass of anything. Appreciate the "skinny" drink recipes!
  • My new trick for eating more fruits is to prepare a see-through container of cut red grapefruit and oranges and keep it in the fridge. Got the idea from those stunning displays at Whole Foods, which cost about $6.00 for a small container. This week I bought one huge grapefruit and 3 large oranges. Cut off all the skin.…
  • 153 on Saturday, down 2.6. Getting back on track after my trip to Florida.
  • I've been looking for a small group of friends for support. I got active in January but am having a hard time making the lifestyle changes necessary. I'm 55 and would like to send friend requests to all of you.
  • Gosh, this is a great group! Had some beer with lunch (I AM at the beach, after all). Walked this morning, and am going for another walk now before heading to our favorite beach bar. I appreciate the thoughts on low-cal drinks, especially the question whether you want the buzz or not. Wow, what a question. Yes, a little…
  • Yvonne, sorry about your dinner. Mostly sorry that your ex let you down. I'm in Florida for a long weekend break. Last time I was here I gained back all the weight I had lost in the prior 4 weeks. This time, I hadn't had a drink in 3 days, and wanted to continue that here, but it's clear that's not going to happen. Still,…
  • Margie, you can't give up! Who would be the keeper of the log?
  • Thanks, Margie, for keeping up with this. I'm in again. I did not meet my Valentine's Day goal, but I DID learn a lot and I'm making some changes for this go-round. SW 155.6. Goal for April 1, 145. I know that's ambitious, but I think the weight I recentlly gained back will come off rather quickly.
  • Well, my weight hasn't changed and I did not meet my V-Day goal, BUT I learned a lot, and I'm making some changes and I'm absolutely ready to jump on the April Fool's Day challenge. I am NOT going to throw up my hands in despair and give up, like I've done so many times in the past.
  • Celebrated my husband's birthday weekend with lots of friends, parties and, of course, alcohol. Back to the gym this morning, and intend to seriously cut back on drinking during the week.
  • Amy, you must be right about the fat cells. Oh, well, I drank last night to celebrate my husband's birthday, but got to the gym this morning and am just going to get right back on track.
  • Glad to see the February thread. I did NOT change my habits on my trip to Florida, so wonder of wonders, I gained weight. +Sigh+ Back on track today. Why is it so darn hard to lose and so quick to come back?
  • Did not lose during my mini-vacation in Florida, but am back on track now that I've returned.
  • Thank you for explaining what NSV means! It's been a mystery to me.
  • Leaving snow and ice and heading to Florida for a long weekend. Last year it was several margaritas a night at our favorite beach bar. This year, I'm going to keep logging my food and drinks, find some kind of exercise to do every day, and cut down on the alcohol. Anybody got any low-calorie special drinks that would be a…
  • Can you share how you did those projected photos? I'd love to do that.
  • cw, sorry about the negative comments. I didn't even know your food log could be public -- ick! I love this group because we're all trying to lose weight without giving up alcohol. Like many others here, I don't gorge on chips, cookies, cakes. I just like a couple of glasses of wine at the end of the day. It's do-able,…
  • I didn't drink Tuesday through Thursday, but intended to drink with dinner last night. I went to the gym after work and had a great workout on the elliptical, which made me less inclined to come home and dive into a bottle as a way to unwind. Then I decided if I was going to drink only a night or two a week, it was going…
