Not only do I use a smaller (8") dinner plate (Corelle divided), I have a smaller (plastic) cereal bowl and for yogurts & those small pudding cups I bought one of those baby spoons. Food looks like a lot more when using smaller plates.

There are a few DM groups here, one is: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1772-type-2-diabetes-support-group a search will get you more of them, I suggest picking a higher page # as those…

I agree with this...and that's why I watch the show (and the show "Extreme Weight Loss"), because if I don't watch myself, I can easily yo-yo back up to what I started here at (#275) or more. :# I'm at (under) my goal weight now & maintaining my loss but watch the shows (and "Skin Tight" as well) to keep me honest & eating…

It truly depends on the person. I found it to be very motivational. Sedentary job here and a couch potato. I started out with Fitbit Flex, wanted more from it so bought the Force, which I loved till it died on me. The Force was recalled so went back to the Flex....but was spoiled from seeing my step count with the Force.…

Only exercise I've done pretty much IS walk. Got my first tracker July 3rd, 2013 and haven't stopped walking daily since. Prefer outside but when too chilly or if it's monsoon season I walk on my treadmill. For more ways to get some steps in check out http://www.hungry-girl.com/ask-hg-q-and-a/show/housewalking-daily-steps…

If you got thru cancer & chemo, dropping the pounds should be easy. We all have bad habits...make small changes. One day, one pound, one step at a time. I lost most of my weight without exercising -just with calorie deficit. I eat out, I eat junk food, I eat chocolate...I didn't cut anything out, just eating in moderation.…

I work what I want into my daily menu. I pre plan/ pre log what I want & plan the rest of my day around it. I eat out, I eat fast food, I eat junk food, am a chocoholic (I have boxes of Hostess cakes in my freezer) and I have not cut anything out. Eat in moderation. Count your calories etc. Weigh, measure, write what you…

Welcome :) I too found MFP when I got diagnosed with Type 2 (mid 2012) & was put on Metformin (also had hypertension & on 2 meds and 2 for chol/triglyceride issues). I did not go no carb or drastically cut sugar ...I did pay attention to my carbs/sugars/sodium and kept my calories & other macros in check. I ate less, I…

Hey there...not quite the same situation but I joined MFP right after getting dx'd with type 2. Was already on 2 meds for hypertension and high cholesterol/lipids...so the Metformin for DM was med #5. Lost the weight (morbidly obese down to healthy weight), lost the diagnosis and lost the medications. Eating less, moving…
