Like BurnWithBarb above, I still weigh & log food and I pre plan/pre log my meals. Maintaining over a year now but as a former yo yo dieter & I need to take the extra steps to keep me on plan. Been doing it for so long already and I actually don't mind.

Congrats, Happy (almost) two year anniversary!! You look awesome....the last few lbs should be a piece of cake (pun intended). Our stats (start weight, height, etc) are very similar. Envious you got a grip at a younger age than I did.

Treats here too. Planned and worked into the diary ahead of time & enjoyed to the fullest. I pre plan/ pre log my meals, keeps me from ever going over.

Treadmilled in bare feet. Never again. Ever. I'm lucky to still have skin on my feet

Depends what you are looking for in a tracker. I love mine (also have a Vivofit as well). Check out this Fitbit group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

You can also scan the UPC code on the product you are eating as well. Be aware that some stats may be incorrect, either entered wrong by other users, or only partially entered etc. You can also create your own food entries as well as build your own recipes here.

I feel your pain, have been there myself with my Flex....what I did was play with the blasted thing BEFORE trying to put it on, to be able to use 2 hands to get the clasp thing to "stretch out" the holes in the band. I sat down and during a tv show & practiced closing it , opening it, closing it. I figured out what hole I…

So very very true... I walk my neighborhood daily (since got my Fitbit 7/2013) and I get stopped in the oddest places (parking lots, grocery store, fast food places) by "neighbors" (all unknown to me) that have seen me walking and have noticed my weight loss. Same thing with co workers (I work from home) who see me at…

I agree with the others, don't look at the big picture, set small achievable goals. Take each day, each pound, each step as it comes. They all add up. Losing slowly lets the body & the mind adjust. You are doing great. It's not easy and at times it is discouraging, but don't think of this as a diet...it is a lifestyle…

Joined MFP in June 2012 after I got dx'd with Type 2. Already had hypertension & high chol/triglyceride issues and on a total of 4 meds & then added Metformin. YMMV but I lost the weight, no longer am considered to have ANY of the above issues and no longer on any meds. Wishing you the same success I had. One day, one…

Congrats...you look awesome. Our stories are similar except I'm older & wish I had gotten my act in gear decades ago. Hitting goal rocks though & maintenance is a trip.
-
John, been in your shoes...joined WW more times than I can count...yo yo dieter...lost and regained it all and more. I found MFP right after got diagnosed with Type 2 (June 2012), I'm on day #1353. Hit my goal & have maintained my loss for about a year.
-
Welcome John....set small goals, one day, one step, one pound at a time. Forget the past, each day is a new day. String a few days together and things will add up. You are worth it, the journey is worth it.
-
Every single day. Multiple treats actually. I plan for them and work them into my daily calorie (carb, fat, sugar) count.
-
Love my junk food (and sweets) and have not given them up ...work what I want to have into my daily goal each day. You have to do what works for you...for me this is a lifestyle change not a diet and has to be sustainable. At goal & maintaining for over a year now.

It's a different mindset.....before we were all hoping to see the loss on the scale and now we are hoping for it to stay the same (+/- a few pounds you set as your goal range). It's trial & error as far as upping your calories w/o tipping the scale each week. I have maintained the same weight now for a year. I still weigh,…

Well to get snit picky for a second, the water doesn't but there would be calories (sodium, fat etc) in the residual salad dressing coating the inside of the bottle.....
-
Another inspiring person (MFP moderator now) is Ed Davenport..also lost tremendous amount of weight on his own. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/user/CyberEd312/profile/CyberEd312?target=&redirected=true Good luck in your journey....hardest step was the first one. One day, one pound, one step at a time.

Enjoy it....check out http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users if you haven't already :)

I agree with the Fitbits customer support. I have been wearing the Flex since 7/2013 (had the Force till it died on me) and I also have Garmin's Vivofit (first incarnation w/HRM). I find them motivating since I have a sedentary job. I just pre ordered Fitbits Alta as I want the band but NEED to see step count on the…

I agree with this 100%. I'm over 50, I carried my weight (SW 275) give or take 3 decades. I'm only 5'5.5" and carried it in my face & gut mostly. The only thing I've done is walk & drink water (I need to still work on firming/toning and do have a weight bench/set but am a couch potato) . Did not start walking till nearly…
