  • As long as you eat that back! Eating that, then burning it all off leaves nothing left for your body to function normally on, You're basically going the anorexic route- without actually giving up eating- if you burn ALL your calories
  • Weight loss is easy. (if you have the control for it) Eat less. Being /healthy/ is a bit more complicated and it's different for each person.
  • Do try to eat back all your exercise calories. Also, you might just need to wait a bit. Anytime my mom starts up a new exercise, she gains for a few weeks, before losing a again. Make sure you get enough water. You might need more than the recommended 8 glasses a day, which is totally fine as long as you don't drink too…
  • First 20 some lbs I lost was all unhealthily. I mean, literally, I didn't even have 'eat good' days. So it's possible, but it might not all be fat. It might also be muscle your losing too. But you are eating good and exercising some, if I read right. so I think you're off to a good start :) But, make sure you're netting at…
  • No, fat is caused by overeating. Too much sugar isn't healthy, but it's not gonna make you fat xD
  • No more than 24 grams of sugar is what the average woman should have, according to experts. Now you see why all this fast and easy food isn't so healthy. Though I would only focus on calories for now, then focus on your macros a little bit more later. That's what I did. :)
  • lift weights too! You'll lose a lot more with lifting! And I think it is possible, thats about 5 lbs/month or 1 lb/week And make sure to eat back your exercise calories
  • I lost 5 lbs my first week and I am set at 1 lb per week I think it was just water weight... and waste. :flowerforyou: One you change it kick starts you. your loss will be more regular soon ^^
  • I have 2 3lb weights and a pair of shoes Walking every other day, along with a few weight lifting exercises and some push-ups, sit-ups and planks And on my off days, I'm training myself to run using the couch to 5k program. idk the last time I measured myself before the other day, but when I did, I was about 1/2-1 inch…
  • I work out at home. My cardio is just walking or running outside. I go halfway out, then turn back. So I guess my motivation to finish is the fact I have to get home before I can take a break  I like to use the example story of the girl that swam halfway around then world, got tired and turned back :glasses: Oh, and…
  • I'm also at 213 and 1,200 calories is WAY too low for me. I say up them, (Not a lot, just a little, I'm eating about 1,700) you'll see a big difference! Also you could experiment with switching up your workout routine. Do something a little different, that might boost your loss a little :)
  • I think you're doing good! Your body loses fat at different places at different times, some people lose the fat in the butt last, or thei belly, or their thighs, arms etc. Keep going, it'll all come off eventually :D
  • Oh look, a study of Fasted Cardio. http://blogs.menshealth.com/bellyoff-nutritionist/the-truth-about-fasted-cardio/2011/04/14/ "The group that ate BEFORE the moderate cardio session continued to burn significantly MORE calories up to 24 hours after the exercise bout."
  • I get up at 8 Usually start eating around 8:30 And I'm finished by nine, which is when I do my exercise Seems to work okay for me :3 Some people exercise then eat, but I can't do that. Tried it once and nearly passed out.
  • According to Good Eats (Alton Brown) If you do it right, you'll probably only use a tablespoon or so.
  • a sixteen ounce serving of soda has my entire sugar allowance. So I tend to stay away from pop all together. That and, the more you drink, the more you tend to want, it's just a sabotage for me. I'll take a few sips every once in a while, but that's it.
  • 1,100 does seem low, but if you hit like 1,198, I wouldn't give that much though, a couple calories less or more won't hurt you, you're still eating a calorie deficient, and you're still giving yourself an approximate of 1,200 Now while you may see results at this low level, they will be short lived, raising your calories…
  • I sometimes weigh myself every day, or when I'm thinking about it. But I hardly ever take it to heart. My 'official' weigh ins are on Thursdays :3 Those are the numbers I truly go by
  • Every time I research into this, I hear that strength training is more important than cardio. Not that you don't have to do cardio, it's just that, you REALLY should not leave strength training out of it. If you don't strength train, I suppose you might end up 'flabby'. I hear a lot of people saying that you need to…
  • I think you're rather pretty, judging by your profile pic. You can be bigger and pretty :) And losing weight won't just be for your appearance, it'll be for your health. So many illnesses related to being overweight, and many more related to how overweight people tend to eat! You just have to remember those things, because…
  • Wake up on the wrong side of the bed, did we? OP asked why MFP gave higher calories for something that didn't seem to deserve it. That's all. But I do agree, logging things like housework isn't going to get you far, unless you're so out of shape that you work up a good sweat doing it. HRMs are a good thing, I hear a lot of…
  • I don't have cheat days, because I end up making myself sick and/or knocking myself off course. I do, however, let myself eat that little bit of junk food on any day, as long as it fits into my calories. :)
  • Classic internet question "Do you even lift?" Seriously, though. Do you just do cardio? Or do you add weights? If you don't lift, start lifting. It'll really help. And maybe change up what exercises you do. Sometimes it could be you're just at a plateau
  • What is the difference between a 'bad'meal and a 'good' meal. You stayed in your calories and that's a good thing. Most people wouldn't consider thinking about calories when the go out to eat. Don't be too hard on yourself, you gotta enjoy life a little :) And I don't think you actually messed up. Even if you had,…
  • Chicken and field greens :3
  • Woot! Good for you!! I'm working my way there!
  • When you see that post, it means the person didn't over eat. It is a good thing, unless it was under the minimum requirement of 1,200 calories a day :) Hope that helps!
  • I use to do the walks with her, when I was little and my mom was exercising. I'm thinking about using one of her DVDs in march, when I switch up my routine a bit :D
  • I find it hard to eat healthy and get as many calories as I need for the day. So if I come across a day where I don't hit at least 1,200, I'll cheat and eat a sweet. That's all you really need to hit to keep that message away, it'll get easier soon :)
