  • Compression can help a lot (sleeves) and you can try KT tape if you know how to use it. I tore my quad last year before my triathlon and was off it completely for 4 weeks. No running or cycling and swimming only with a pull buoy.
  • I'm a great pool swimmer, and terrible OWS swimmer. Finally after 4 70.3s I had a close to good swim this summer. But I also put myself far away from everyone and basically swam in clean water. Personally, unless you are a DNF risk, it's not a huge deal to shave 3 minutes off your swim so maybe until you are more…
  • I loved Honu last year but it is hot! Some of my friends really struggled on the run because of that
  • Oh really I thought this past week was the hardest. haha.
  • :-) Just train smart. And you can train for hills #justkeeppedaling
  • I signed up straight away for a 70.3 (hawaii, non wetsuit swim) and felt great about it! I did two olympics beforehand to practice transitions, make mistakes, and it worked for me (desert tri and wildflower oly). I literally could not clip into a bike before I started.
  • For those looking at Texas, it is almost sold out.
  • Mine is 1700. MFP keeps telling me 1200 but the doc says 1700
  • I'm going to add a couple to this. My long term goal is 130-135 ish. My goal is to stick my triathlon coach's mid-week plan, which means doing ALL my swims and ALL my strength training sessions. I'm also trying to become a stronger cyclist so I plan to bike 3 times a week
  • Base building again and on run break for anoher 2 weeks so I'm going to say: Biking (including trainer work): 200 miles Running: 40 miles Swimming: 10 miles Lifting: 8 sessions
  • I'm Liz and my weight loss journey has been a struggle. I started running a few years ago, triathlon recently, and though I'm not eating McDonald's on the reg now, I am not seeing the scale dip more than 10 lbs and then I get discouraged put it all back on! I am in my friend's wedding in 2016 so would like to look more in…
  • I'm going to be Oceanside 70.3 and Louisville with possibly Coeur D'Alene 70.3 in between. Unsure what else...
  • Personally, if you want to run than run. Investing in real running shoes will help and starting with a walking/running interval plan will help. If I waited to start running until I got a "runner's body" I would never have signed up for my first 5k, 10k or half marathon. My third half is next week. Ready to tackle even more…
