  • I too am looking at getting one, if I'm lucky with santa, but it has to be compatible with endomondo and android, so I think it's going to have to be polar - all the others seem a bit hit-and-miss.
  • I love soup, tinned, fresh, carton whatever, but I really dislike the watery slim soups. They aren't filling, taste too salty and are over-priced. I just have standard soups which rarely go over 250 calories, and you feel like you've had a tasty lunch or supper, rather than hot watery gruel.
  • My mantra is I'm trying to lose weight not punish myself. I had a blow out on Sunday, but it was a good meal with with friends and family, and so what if I have to walk a few extra miles - occasions are what memories are made of. Stop beating yourself up - it's not as if you sat in a darkened room with a bag full of…
  • The Horizon programme got me interested as well - I'm still waiting to see an upsurge in my IQ mind. I don't think I could do the 5:2 ratio though, but alternate's good for me, plus I eat weekends. I do try to eat nothing on fast days, but if I get hungry I'll have something light, and the same if I start to feel…
  • I'm looking forward to seeing my little one, although I expect to be able to see the feet first. Little steps and all that.
  • I must confess that I haven't been clinical in working out what my daily should be on a normal day, as the premise for me is that if I want it, I'll eat it! But, the desire to eat a bath tub full of cheese (those were the days!) is curbed by the weight loss - so pleased with what I've lost so far, that I don't really want…
  • Weekends are problematic, because it just draws attention to yourself, and you look a miserable bugger if everyone is eating, especially if you go out. I also like cooking., so weekends in the kitchen are fun for me. Only other issue, concerning cooking, is to spend ages making a meal and then not eat it. Haven't found a…
  • I'm on week 4, and think it's fantastic. By the middle of the second week, I didn't feel hungry at all, and weirdly, I don't get the tummy rumbles any more (which I miss!). I try to eat nothing on fast days (some advocate 500 calories), but if I get hungry or grumpy, then I'll eat - I'm trying to lose weight not punish…
  • Mine was going for a standard health check-up, and the blood pressure arm-collar didn't fit so they had to go and find the larger version. I was mortified.
  • Me too - just been advocating it on another post. I think it's fantastic, and wish I'd done it years ago.
  • I couldn't stay under 1200 without being miserable all the time, so what Iv'e just started is the alternate fasting diet, whereby (unsurprisingly) you simply don't eat every other day (although many advocates recommend having 500 on your fasting days). It may sound odd, but by the middle of the second week, I didn't feel…
