Yeah, I totally agree. This is the best thing I have found on MFP by a long shot. Thank you so much for all of your help and support. I'm learning SO much here.

Thanks Sara! Jay says thank you too :D I'll post his photos in the BF% estimation thread...I'm not sure how accurate his measurements were in the first place let alone the calculator he used.

Oh! And if you're interested in seeing my results after my P90X/Insanity hybrid here they are: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/873475-p90x-and-insanity-toned-me-up

Insanity will most definitely be pretty hard on the knees. It's by far the highest impact exercise I've ever done. I agree with rotterdam - combat has similar intensity but less jumping - that might be a good second option! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about insanity - I'm a little bit of a beachbody junkie…

Correct...unfortunately, haha =/

He also says that there might have been a weight gain plateau in there though because the first two months he was really focused with his eating and workouts - but then it slowed way down because he missed workouts more frequently and wasn't able to progressively increase his weights at that point.
-
He gained 15 pounds over 4 months, so a little less than a pound a week, he says. I apologize, I wasn't clear, he was doing P90X TO bulk. He knows that P90X isn't as ideal as lifting heavy - but he wanted to maintain endurance and athletic performance for skiing so he figured it was best of both worlds if he was increasing…

He only just started the 2400 calorie diet a week ago and has lost a half a pound...so it's still a little early to tell. He got his body fat percentage by estimating using hips waist and neck with the military estimation. I can post his photos in the BF% estimation thread if you'd like. He was doing a progressive loading…

I absolutely LOVE P90X. I'm currently doing Asylum. My results can be found here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/873475-p90x-and-insanity-toned-me-up

I'm one of those people who have severe allergic reactions to certain vaccinations - so I say GO GET YOUR FLU SHOTS PEOPLE SINCE I CAN'T GET ONE!! Haha :) I don't know though, I'm a molecular biology PhD student and a lot of people in my department hem and haw over whether they're all that effective or not.

This is just awesome. Can't wait til I publish my first paper...

@hotmummymission Has incredible fashion taste! That is the sexiest little black dress I have ever seen! Loves to go out and have fun :)

I find that egg whites and cottage cheese help! Greek yogurt too!

Sounds fantastic! Thank you so much

I think you have to have wiggle room every once in awhile. I follow the 90-10 plan. 90% of my eating is perfect 10% - not so perfect. 80-20 is probably just as safe to be honest. Some people have a treat every day so long as it fits their macros. I personally prefer to eat as nutritious as I can every day so that when I go…

On January 22nd, I increased my calories from 1200-1400 to 1500. I did this increase because the Asylum nutrition plan says for people weighing under 150 pounds, they should eat 1500 calories. So I upped them. Currently (since the 22nd) I have tried to fall between 1425-1575 and land pretty damn close to 1500 every day.…

Huge difference! P90X includes resistance training days with weights and pull-ups, yoga, and a couple days of cardio whereas insanity is more cardiovascular based in its entirety. P90X is also 90 days were insanity is only 60.
-
That would most certainly be a bump

Yay!! Nice!! I just started Asylum...I'm on day 4 now :D

Cool! Make sure if you want to use the "SAMPLE" code again on your next order - you use a different email address. Otherwise it doesn't work. I think that code is supposed to be for new customers...but I've ordered from them almost 10 times now with different email addresses and they haven't stopped giving me free shipping…

That's so strange! I eat mine super slowly too...they don't get hard on me. As a matter of fact they stay super soft and gooey. Weird...

These quest bars will blow you away. They're by far the best protein bars I've ever tried in my life. They taste like dessert. Pop them in the microwave for 15-20 seconds and they melt down to cookie dough texture and are just flat out unbelievable. I eat one a day and love ALL the flavors. My favorites are apple pie,…
-
http://www.questproteinbar.com/ - you can purchase and find all info there :) If you use the discount code SAMPLE you get free shipping and an extra bar or peanut butter cups! I actually really like the peanut butter cups...I eat them really slowly though to savor them so maybe that's why they're not unpleasant. I don't…

I think we just need to agree to disagree =/. What is better for you is not necessarily better for me. I enjoy these workouts and I get a lot out of them. It trains me properly for the sport that I do. I mean...in both plyometrics and the insanity videos, I have to spend time squatting down like I'm on a snowboard then…

I was the same way when I first started out working out with my fiance. I felt so awkward!! But now I absolutely love it! First off, you have absolutely no reason to be embarrassed about him seeing you workout! He loves you and obviously wants to spend whatever time he can with you. That's so endearing and very cool! Not…

^^^ This. I'm worried about you OP...please see a nutritionist if you don't want to hear out what we have to say.
-
What a good idea! I can't believe I never thought of that!

Insanity is great! Words of advice: 1) Make sure you're eating enough and eating foods that will give you energy 2) You don't have to keep up with the people in the video (I still can't!) 3) Don't get discouraged the first few times you do it - it's going to be ridiculously hard 4) Try to push yourself to the point where…

If the formula calculated 1500 calories for you, you could start with that...but I'm becoming a firm believer in eat more calories to weigh less. I'm currently doing asylum at 1500 calories because I'm upping them from 1200-1400 calories. I was a huge grouch on that little food and my weight loss slowed down a lot. My plan…

If you're dealing with an injury, make sure you don't push it! If that's the case, maybe you should pop in a yoga video for today instead. Then you can pick up on the second video tomorrow when your leg is feeling better. Yes, it's a 60 day program - but who cares how long it takes! Listening to your body is the most…
