  • I'm a part of a pretty awesome accountability group on Facebook! Anyone who's interested can PM me and I'll invite you to our group! There's even a little prize competition going on...but it's free and such a great group of people!!
  • I'm on the last phase of P90X3 right now and I definitely think there are ways you can modify the high intensity stuff so as to avoid issues with your back and neck. You should verify that pushups (perhaps on your knees) and pull-ups (you can do band pull downs instead) are okay though because there are a lot of those.…
  • Yay!!! Okay :) Friend me on Facebook and I'll invite you to the group! My name is Fallon Durant :) I'm finishing up P90X3 right now and I'm about to move on to a Body Beast/Insanity hybrid myself...(ahhh!!!) I LOVE Shaun T, haha! He kicks my butt even in 25 minutes!
  • I made these tonight and they were awesome, btw: http://www.proteinpow.com/2012/08/the-best-low-carb-protein-brownies-in.html#comment-form_4357375846693284624 I didn't add splenda and I don't think it's necessary.
  • Protein yogurt crepes!! These are AWESOME and you can make any combination of flavors that you like! Possibilities are endless :) I was inspired by two websites that I recommend: 1) www.proteinpow.com - there are some pretty incredible protein baked goods on there 2) http://www.tasty-health.se - another great one for good…
  • Honestly, you'll probably want to go somewhere like GNC or something for your protein powder in my opinion. I don't recommend the protein powders that you find in the grocery store because A) They don't taste as good and B) more importantly, they don't usually contain a robust amino acid composition - so they're pretty…
  • Here are a couple recipes for you to try too: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/plant-protein-6-veggie-friendly-protein-packed-recipes.html
  • I LOVE this site: proteinpow.com You need to have some vegan protein powders to make a lot of the stuff on here - but she has plenty of vegan recipes that may be straight up your alley. MAN they are GOOD too.
  • Oh wow, this is SO incredibly helpful, from all of you. Thank you SO much. I'll keep you updated on how it goes :) As always, thank you for your continued help and support in this group. It's been the most helpful thing I've found on MFP and it is incredibly sweet of you guys to be dedicating so much of your time to…
  • I suppose my temporary goal is definition (for my September wedding) but my overall lifetime goal is for strength. I'm really into some serious backpacking, and it'd be nice not to have a problem with a 30 pound pack on the steep stuff. I am on a calorie deficit (15-20% TDEE) - but I upped my calories (two weeks ago) and…
  • It's pretty convenient - my gym is literally in the basement of the building where I work. The only inconvenient part is that I don't really know what to do :P
  • Currently, no - but all I'd have to do is renew my gym membership!
  • I've never had a problem with my cat scratching anyone (unless she's trying to get away when we try to put her in the tub or car of course), but my cat has a serious problem of scratching herself. She has serious allergy issues, so had a tendency to bite herself and scratch the crap out of her ears until they bleed :(…
  • Hmmm...okay. Maybe it is the water then. I'll try to drink more today and see if it makes a difference. Also, I should probably add that a large portion of my carbs that I consume come from fiber. I try to get 30+ g in a day...I'm not sure if that matters.
  • Thanks so much, SideSteel! I'll be looking forward to seeing what you can find :)
  • No, I don't :-/ I usually workout around 6 pm or so. By then I've only consumed probably around 85 g of carbs throughout the day though I'll also clarify I almost never make 1800 calories. The average is closer to 1700. :).
  • Okay, cool. That's what I wanted to make sure. I didn't think oxidizing protein for fuel necessarily meant I was losing muscle mass...but my fiance read a bunch of crap on the internet and was trying to convince me otherwise this morning.
  • bump! these look awesome. Thank you!
  • Here's my story! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/873475-p90x-and-insanity-toned-me-up?hl=p90x+toned+me+up I say that I'm 5'2", but I'm really closer to 5'1", haha! I started at 148 and made my way down to 120 (although I've gained a couple pounds since these pictures were taken because I took a month long hiatus…
  • My fiance and I were having this discussion the other day. Although I technically *could* eat these things if I wanted (some of which are extraordinarily healthy), I have trouble fitting them into my calorie allowance and/or macros, so they're usually axed out: Ice cream Cereal (doesn't keep me full enough for the amount…
  • First off, way to go! It's awesome that you're trying to make such a wonderful change in your life. Why don't you encourage him to work out and eat healthy foods with you? Tell him that you think it would be fun to cook new meals together and go walking together. Who knows, maybe you'll take on new, active hobbies together…
  • Oh my gosh, I'm stealing this. Haha!
  • I'm a massive nerd :D About to take my qualifying exams for my molecular biology phd program here in a couple months. God help me.
  • There's always insanity...That's how I got my abs :D Your body is your equipment! If you have any questions about it, feel free to PM or FR me!!
  • Haha, okay :) I am willing myself to not be stressed about numbers and am willing myself to enjoy myself instead. I promise :D
  • Yeah I definitely didn't need to fast to get lean... I try to eat 1-1.5 times my lean body mass in grams of protein a day as a minimum, 0.35 times my body weight in fats as a minimum, and find the balance in carbs (THANK YOU PEOPLE IN THE EAT, TRAIN, PROGRESS GROUP!!!!) It's really, REALLY working for me. I also do…
  • This is so much more realistic! Thank you :)
