I can identify with your struggles. I also enjoy cooking and baking. I like cooking old faves and new recipes. What has worked for me is embracing that passion. I like to cook, so now I save and try to cook healthy recipes. I modify old faves. For example, I love collard greens. Well, I use to use the grease of 8 pieces of…

do both. the idea that you should lose weight and then weight train is uninformed regarding how our body functions. Muscles burn more calories than cardio. By weight training you are building muscle and burning calories in addition to the cardio you do. It's a win win situation.

I was thinking the same thing. The pics are an incredible transformation of the body, but you can also see the progression of confidence. It also looks like you are getting happier in each photo. Awesomeness!!! You look happy...life is good enjoy! [/quote]

i have grits or oatmeal most mornings, but cook them on the stovetop. Since you must use a microwave, i suggest microwaving 1 or two eggs. I do this all the time, for an 'egg over easy' style egg. Spray margarine on a plate just so there is a little. You actually don't have to use any margarine or butter, but i think the…

i'm Southern too and this is what I like to do. Thanksgiving rarely starts at noon...it's more like 1-2ish so I like to wake up and work out. It serves as reminder to me what Is important. I then have a very healthy breakfast. I don't know about your family's Thanksgiving, but there is usu just no way to get everything on…

as long as you are hitting your calories for the day, i don't think it matters when ya get em. my favorite low cal dinners are baked fish (tilapia) with english peas and brown rice or a vegetable soup. Another low cal favorite dinner lately is butternut squash soup. I haven't made it yet this year, but pumpkin black bean…

i'm gonna go w no even though I don't know what wheetabix is. include more protein....soy milk (skim milk isn't very filling imo), eggs, peanut butter, nuts (pistachios are a fav of mine). Also you should still try to include more veggies and fruit. Try adding a piece of fruit to your breakfast. Have some carrots,…

add me sugar!

i would omit the water and add more onion, garlic, and cumin. I would prob put in at least a tsp of cumin. It *needs* some celery. I would add 3 stalks of diced celery. Most soups esp vegetable soup contain celery and this may be the taste you are missing. You also need more salt for that much soup. One tablespoon of…

I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS show a gain the morning after having pizza even when I don't go over my calories for the day. I believe it is the high level of sodium. Just stick to your calorie allotment for the day, drink lots of water, and you will see the scale go back down. It's not permanent, just bloating from too much…

bumping for later too. what a great idea when your yogurt is close to expiring too!

You are very correct about having to really watch the chocolate morsels when microwaving so you don't burn them.

i *think* semi-sweet morsels are lower in calories than milk chocolate. May wanna check that! I put them in a microwave safe bowl (mine is corning wear i believe) and nuke in 10 second increments...stirring in between. It should still look kind of morselly toward the end and by stirring it all becomes chocolate lava…
