for me it is patience. I see people on here that lose so quickly and I almost envy them. I have to remind myself that my journey is different. I lose slowly. That is ok. That is ok. I tend to lose about a pound a week. Sometimes I lose less than a lb a week or stall. It can make me feel like I'm not progressing. However,…

My FIL concealed from us and everyone that he was dying. We did not know that he knew until after he passed. I wished he had told us, so we could have comforted him and maybe even had some last whoo-raaahs. However, I feel like it was his choice to decide. I do not in any way feel as though he was obligated to share that…

I still workout w it. I feel like I stretch my calves and feet all day long..even before I get out of bed in the morning. I wear a brace at night and it def helps. I also recommend getting a water bottle and freezing it. Roll your foot around on it after exercising.

try all that has been rec'd thus far, but you may also want to consider your breathing. Are you breathing in through your mouth? Train yourself to only breathe through your nose. Breathing through the nose delivers oxygen to the lungs more efficiently, allows oxygen molecules to travel more freely to different cells in the…

Every day I awake to the sound of birds chirping and face a big window looking out over my front yard. I look outside and usually feel the warmth from the sun. I think, "I am thankful to be here and be a part of this wonderful day". Even if it's raining outside or grey, that is lovely too. I do a few overheard stretches…

it's in the MFP database...any kind of mexican restaurant meal i can think of has been in there (for better or worse)

i loosely follow this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/crustless-spinach-quiche/detail.aspx like you, i prefer feta. i will often include feta and mozz, just feta, or feta and cheddar. (whatever cheese you have will work fine) I usu add a dash of nutmeg and a pinch of red pepper flakes to the batter as well. they're…

I love this 1: http://chefinyou.com/2011/05/black-beans-with-mango/ I use lime instead of lemon juice though and prefer ground cumin to the seeds in this recipe. I serve it warm w a side of brown rice and usu a salad. Everyone and i mean every1 loves this meal. It just screams summer to me. Oh, I omit the Epazote ...dunno…

love me forever: cut each sprout in half. toss in olive oil, salt, and pepper (add a little minced garlic or garlic powder if you are so inclined). roast on 450 till the edges turn brown almost black. these are the way they rock...that boiled brussel sprout crap is just nasty. turnips...same thing..chop into 1 inch cubes…

I highly recommend this strategy. Everyone of us is busy. Our freezer is now full of ready to go meals and snacks. It didn't happen overnight, but we'd make a big batch of beans in the crockpot and freeze most of it. Over time it has filled up. I have a few different kinds of soup, beans, greens, and fruits frozen into…

i'd like to think i embrace such an accusation :)

don't think i could add more about food choices. surely some1 mentioned smoothies, right? wraps: the moby wrap was very helpful but very frustrating to get just right. spend the money and get a good 1. if i had it do over again (or if i do have another 1) i'll get a baby hawk or an ergo. also congrats on the new baby :))

melt semisweet chocolate in a double boiler or just microwave carefully. dip strawberries in the melted chocolate and set on wax paper. then place in frig until the choc becomes hard. i personally wouldn't recommend leaving them in the frig more than a day but uhh that usu is not a problem. edit: make sure the strawberries…

people in the beauty pageant world have been using a much cheaper version (basically just saran wrap) for years b.c it can decrease size for a FEW hours. it's not permanent. i know a woman who has been selling these for over 6 months and you'd think her size would be diff by now but of course it isn't. it's just a way for…

equal parts extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard and a pinch of any sweetener of your choice (sugar, brown sugar, splenda, honey, etc). i got the idea of adding the dijon on MFP and i totally love the flavor.

oh my goodness, this recipe includes everything i love to eat. i cannot WAIT to try this when mangoes are in season. i will be forever grateful to you for posting this recipe. YuuuUUUUmy!

i like this one but w 2 eggs. I will throw in some corn or finely grated carrot if i have any. I often replace the bell pepper w finely minced pickled jalapeno and omit the hot sauce: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/homemade-black-bean-veggie-burgers/ i personally believe in starting with really good and flavorful beans. this…

I would like to concur with the information below. I am earning a Master's in Epidemiology and we are often exposed to the various types of research at the university. It is difficult to shake previous notions of what constitutes a healthy diet or one that promotes good cardiovascular health. However, the research I have…

just a regular hummus recipe, but sub navy/cannellini/great northern beans instead of chickpeas. (this is what makes CPK's hummus) btw, if you google CPK's hummus copycat recipe, you will find 1 that is spot on BUT it calls for 10 cloves of garlic....this is way way too much. makes a good garlic paste tho :P

note that i am comparing the carbs in wine to that of brut champagne. my statement is correct.
-
i opt for liquor w diet soda or brut champagne (less calories and waaaaaaay less carbs than any kind of wine). try having just a glass of wine w dinner every now and then and see if that satiates your wine loving self :)

i would bet she sees mommy doing it and wants to as well. I think it's great, personally. My 4.5 year old jogs and walks with me now bc she saw me doing it. To her it is just all fun and games and something to do with mommy. SHE (big focus on she here) has been talking about running with other people wearing a number on…

pretty much every1 has already contributed about diff kinds of bread for the sandwich. i would just like to add that whatever you choose, try smearing some avocado on one side of your sandwich. they are SOOO yummy this way.
-
our new fav way is cooking it in the normal amt of water but add a few shots of mushroom soy sauce....it is incredible.
-
try smoothies (vs juicing) or just eating the things you were juicing. juicing removes much of the fiber/pulp that contributes to feelings of satiety. also, psychologically drinking something isn't the same as eating. just a couple option to consider :)
-
our go to methods of veg preparation are roasted w salt, pepper, and olive oil or microwaved/steamed with a little mushroom soy sauce and/or teriyaki sauce.
-
there is reg bread/toast out there will smaller amts of carbs: i use nature's own and it has 10 carbs per slice in addition to everything that has already been suggested, try a tofu scramble: youtube search to see how it's done. PPL in Japan have miso soup for breakfast and i freaking love that stuff...very healthy and…

i approach it like this: i am an alcoholic. Even if i never take another sip I will ALWAYS be an alcoholic. What I'm saying is that I try to embrace the fact that I have an unhealthy relationship with food. That for the reasons you describe and then some, I want to eat more than is healthy for me to consume. Thus, I can't…
