  • I think it would be great to start with August again. Have some definite goals each week. I was so motivated when we first started and much like the activity on the group dropped so did my extra motivation. Would love to restart this for those who need extra motivation. I did manage to lose more than expected, but kept…
  • I am just under 5'5" and I am 41 years old. My metabolism really changed after getting ill with mononucleosis. I went from 135-140 to over 160 and couldn't get the weight off. Had 4 children in 6 years and was 229 at my highest during my second pregnancy. I usually managed to keep my weight under 200 after their births,…
  • Disease signs and symptoms can often take months before they appear.

  • You obviously care about the child's best interest and some people do use them too often. I think each child and each situation should be looked at in the best interest of the child. If you have concerns and feel comfortable you should voice them.
  • I was not trying to twist your words. I was trying more to make a point that in a world where children can be taken any time anywhere you can prepare only so much. If you have a child, especially one with a disability you will do anything in your power to keep your kid safe and I don't feel you should be judged or deemed a…
  • This is not proof it is one occasion and you are discussing a situation in which you have one child.
  • Kids are curious by nature that is why we "train" them. They are not born to know they shouldn't cross a street. Training children is like training your muscles it takes time and we make mistakes. Children have been snatched from their beds here in California. I don't think anyone could prepare for that.
  • I know a mom who had 5 kids. All good kids, one had ADD and that was the only one I ever saw on a leash. I would not make a determination about the worth of a parent when I don't know the circumstances of the child. I have 4 of my own and each is uniquely different and requires different parenting techniques. Also…
  • Got to goal (8.2 lbs) and a little more (total lost 9 lbs). Will try for 10 lbs. It has been great reading posts seeing people work towards goals and even stumble - I stalled in the second week - but continue to go for it. Loved the initial challenges and suggestions people made.
  • I had a similar experience, in the long run non of this will matter you will be married to someone you truly love and that is the happiness you want. The wedding day is the show for everyone, let some of the little things go or give them to someone you trust to handle. Remember to be present for your wedding, worrying…
  • I am just about your size, got an enell size 4 in white (first link). This is a great bra for support, better than regular bra, but you should get fitted. Fleet feet will fit you and they are about the same price as online (Sacramento, CA area). There are a number of bras that might have more support but the juggling act…
  • Found Dan's thread about 3 weeks ago after eating around 1200 calories for a month. I did lose 20 lbs, but I did not feel like my body was at its best. I switched a few weeks ago to between 1700 and 2000 calories/day after researching what Dan posted and consulting a fitness expert. I have lost over 5 lbs since then and I…
  • Check out the following link. It was very helpful to me, you may need to re-read a couple of times. Basically I did the ~1200 calories for a month and losing 20lbs to upping the calories to 1800-2000 when I hit a plateau. I am now losing ~.5-1 lb/day and feeling much better - no headaches, no grouchyness. Take time to look…
  • I was on 1200 searching for something that would let me know if this is even healthy. Came across this post and have done a lot of self education. I am now eating 1800-2000 calories/day and have been losing ~1lb/day after 4 days upping my calories slowly because I was uncertain. I feel much better and don't want to risk my…

  • Quick post haven't read everything, but Dixon Montessori in California has a great program for kids lunches as does many of the schools in Davis, CA - organic healthy choices
