When I started I ate a lot of the same foods I was eating but in smaller amounts to stay within my calorie goal. I also was open to trying new things which I found surprising that I liked so many things that I previously thought I didn't like. Now, I still eat the things I ate before I tend to eat them a lot less. Keep an…

I work police dispatch too and I'm jealous that not only do you have a nap room but you get a lunch break. We eat at our consoles.

I track from the time I get up til the time I go to bed, just like I would if I worked 8am to 5pm. I also exercise before work, lucky me I have a gym and locker room where I work so I work out, shower and then it's a walk around the corner to start working. I know a lot of people who work night shift that log from midnight…

Awesome job Jennifer! You have rocked this lifestyle change and you will continue to keep on rocking! Way to go lady, I am so proud of you!

I like that it's at work, free and generally empty when I am in there.

I would definitely eat back the exercise calories if you plan to stay at 1270. If you decide to go with TDEE make sure you calculate your exercise into that. Also, I think it's generally recommended (at least what I have seen on here) to go with TDEE - 20%. That's what I do and it took a week or so to start seeing results…

As long as you aren't working out between the hours of say 10pm and 6am then she needs to get over it. Noise is part of apartment living and as long as you are doing it during a reasonable time of day she doesn't really have a leg to stand on. Who is she complaining to? Management or the police? If it's the police they are…

Police dispatcher right here! I work midnights right now and luckily we have a gym at work so I come in before shift and work out. The agency I work for is very healthy/fitness minded so we have a lot of good options available to us. Feel free to add me if you like!

Losing weight is about eating less that you burn, exercise or not. You asked if it's possible and then went on to show that you have done it. You answered your own question.

You absolutely need to give yourself more time before starting an exercise routine, most doctors recommend 8 weeks after a C-section. Give yourself time to heal and to adjust to having a baby in the house. Make sure that you are eating healthy and enough to keep your supply up (given that you are breastfeeding). Don't get…

Why do you have to cook a separate meal from the rest of your family? Eat the same things as them just eat less than you used to. Walking your dog every day is great exercise but maybe you need to find an exercise that you really enjoy doing and then it won't seem like a chore.

I only looked at the last week of your diary but if that is a good representation of how you have been eating for the last 2 years then I would say you aren't eating enough. You need to give any lifestyle change some time to really see if it works so as PP's have said, give this another month or so before giving up on it.…

The free one at my work and my house. Both open anytime of day or night and I am generally alone when I work out.

I would say go to bed earlier but I know that with a 3 month old that is next to impossible. The only other trick is to put the alarm clock as far away as possible so that you actually have to get out of bed to shut it off. After turning off the alarm go to the restroom, more walking plus turning a light on. Hopefully that…

Not all states require you to have your weight on your DL, however it is helpful in determining that you aren't giving a fake DL. OP, everyone lies about thier weight on thier DL. It might be accurate when they first get it but after that it's a crap shoot.

Make sure that you are eating a healthy diet and logging your food here on MFP. There are many exercises that you can do without ever setting foot into a gym. Google "home workout" and you will be given plenty of options, you can also go for a walk or run around your neighborhood. Don't let a desk job be your excuse for…

Quit weighing yourself several times a day! It is absolutely normal to fluctuate up to 5 pounds a day. It all depends on if you've eaten recently, what you have been drinking or if you need to take a massive poop. If you must weigh yourself daily then cut it down to once a day and weigh at the same time every day. I try to…

The scale may not be moving but if your clothes are fitting better then that means you are losing inches, which is a good thing! Kep doing what you are doing and the results will come. Try taking measurements and see the loss that way, it might help you to feel better about this whole thing. Good luck!

Most hotels have a gym that you can access, if not then go for walks (preferably with a co-worker, safety in numbers and all) or maybe take some light weights with you. You can do an ab workout anywhere along with push-ups and squats. As far as the food, try to pick healthy off of menus and if possible, google restaurants…

Order what you want, just don't eat the entire container! Also, like a PP said, do a workout today and have a lighter breakfast and lunch. Most importantly, enjoy your son's birthday and don't stress over how many calories you are eating. Today is a special day for both you and your son.

Sent you a friend request! I have 2 little boys and work a night shift, it's hard to fit in workouts and not finish thier plates at lunch/dinner.

Haha, my first thought was "mine is too long!"

I have a box of Nature Valley Granola Thins - Dark chocolate peanut butter in my cubby at work. I work in a police department so there are always tasty treats lying around and when I get the urge to have a cookie/brownie/doughnut/whatever then I go grab a granola bar. Like PP said, keep healthy snacks on hand in your desk…

Bring your own food, not only will it help you avoid eating bar food simply because it's available but should also save you money. Most places charge you at least half price for your meal.

I work out in the morning before work but on days off I do Zumba on the WiiU whenever I find the time. Like others have said, workout when you can and figure out what time works best for you.

A favorite in my house right now is orange banana smoothie 2 bananas 1 cup vanilla yogurt 1/4 cup sugar (optional, I think it tastes better with it) 2 tablespoons peanut butter 4 ice cubes (if use frozen bananas then skip the ice) 1 cup 2% milk 1 cup orange juice Blend and enjoy. This makes enough for both kids to have an…

I am 5'4" and try to eat around 1400 - 1500 on days that I do not exercise. On days that I do I eat back my exercise calories and end up around 1800-2000. I am 34 with 2 kids, a desk job (where I am literally tethered to my desk for 10 hours 4 days a week) and I started at 141. I have lost 4 pounds since January and in the…

I have a gym at work that I use (I work for a police department) so I only go on the days I work, which is 4 days a week. I use the elliptical, a balance ball for ab work and free weights for arm strengthening. Some times I will use a leg press if I decide to go light on the elliptical. I am going to start doing pull ups…
-
Look into getting new shoes and break up how long you are on it at any one time. I do a circuit where I do the elliptical for 12.5 minutes ( I just upped this from 10) and then do some ab work and arm work. I do this rotation 4 - 5 times depending on how much time I have that day. By breaking it up you can give your feet a…

I keep my leftovers for a week, after 7 days I toss it.
