As an anxiety sufferer, I can sympathize. Exercising really does help, though!!! I also recommend learning some breathing exercises (NOT for when you workout, though!). Without realizing it, I was overbreathing (i.e., hyperventilating - taking in too much oxygen) and this was causing a lot of my anxiety. This page has a…

I recommend the 30 day shred, too, but I just got her "Ripped in 30" and I think it's even better than 30DS! Only $10 on Amazon.

I throw together a cup of unsweetened almond milk (35 calories), 2 tbsp of peanut butter (200 calories) and 1 scoop of my protein powder (120 calories) for a really delicious, 355 calorie shake. It really helps me to get in the calories I need without resorting to junk food. This is pretty much the only way I've found to…

Breakstone's also has a 2% milk, low sodium cottage cheese that doesn't taste that much different from "regular" cottage cheese.

It's great that you checked with your doctor! Too many people don't do that. And don't be afraid to get a second opinion if you feel you need it. When I first started running I always wanted to take a nap after - and I was relatively healthy and young (at the time!) but out of shape. I'm wondering if you might need to…

Hell, I work in a nearly all-female setting, and the ONLY person who's ever noticed my 18 pound loss has been one of the few men there! Another thing: it took a LONG time for the weight loss to be obvious to other people, as in several months. For some reason I lose the pounds, but it takes my body a bit longer to reflect…

I'm in! I have BFBM, lent my 30DS to a friend, and am expecting her new DVD by the beginning of next week. I did BFBM yesterday, and plan to do it tomorrow morning, too.

I'm not sure what meds you're taking, but many of them make it easy to gain weight and really difficult to lose it, so that could be a part of it. I put on 40 pounds with Paxil, lost some of that weight on Lexapro, got off all of it and lost a lot more. A year or so ago I had to go back on meds, but I've found I don't have…

I don't see why you couldn't save those calories. What you're talking about sounds very similar to zig zagging or calorie cycling, which some people have used with success to break a plateau: http://www.answerfitness.com/316/zig-zag-dieting-fitness-nerd/ http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm# Search these…

Absolutely. DEMANDING that someone do something, like eat a proscribed number of slices of pizza, is far more aggressive than refusing to eat food you don't want. I find his demands confusing and a bit troubling. She's an adult, not his child.

I had a Timex, then found a great deal on a Polar FT4 ($42!). I found that the Timex was at least 100 calories over what the Polar showed, so I'm sticking with that.

Thanks! I've been interested in trying barefoot running.

I think someone above was referring to a body fat analyzer, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-306C-Loss-Monitor-Black/dp/B000FYZMYK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300417234&sr=8-1

Honestly, no alcohol - it really, really slows down your body's ability to burn fat. Also, low carb. And you can do it in a healthy way, as someone above mentioned: lean cuts of meat and fish, lots of green veggies (but don't slather them in butter or sauces), lower fat cheese. It's possible; I know people who did the…

I really love cottage cheese with drizzles of honey. I use Breakstone's lower sodium, 2% milk fat cottage cheese; however, it's still not a "low sodium" food, so keep an eye on it. Still, it tastes great and satisfies my sweet tooth.

I had a similar situation, and my dermatologist put me on Duac (but really, any good benzoyl peroxide cream can work) to wear during the day (under makeup), and then Retin-A micro for the night. It really, really helped, plus the Retin-A helps with my wrinkles.

You don't need a jump rope! In fact, Jillian and the two other women in the video don't use ropes. You just mimic the moves, sans rope.

That's fantastic... and I love that shirt!

I'm 5'8.5" (yes, that half inch matters! LOL) and I currently weigh 177. I was originally at 1200 calories when I was in the 180s, but the loss seemed to slow as I reached th 170s. I've recently upped it to 1500 and find that by eating high-quality foods (i.e., nothing heavily processed or prepackaged - just lots of lean…

Love Bell's Two-Hearted; possibly my favorite IPA, and just had their Hopslam, which was delicious. Also love Dogfish Head's 120 IPA and their Palo Santo Marron. I'm all out now, but 3 Floyd's Dark Lord 2010 was amazing. Craft beer... I wish I knew how to quit you!

You look fantastic! Also, your baby is ovary-exploding adorable.

I'm almost 5'9", and at 178, I feel a whole lot more feminine than at 225, my highest!

I'm clearly in the minority, but I HATE working out in the morning. I would prefer to complete my exercising before work, but I just can't. I do Jillian Michaels' "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism," which is fairly intense, and I really struggle with it in the AM, but in the evenings it's much more do-able. However, everybody…

LOL... sorry, I had to laugh because as an America, I interpreted "trainers" to mean professionals who will work with you to exercise and achieve your fitness goals, not athletic shoes... or "gym shoes" or "sneakers". I can recommend Saucony and Brooks. I've had both for running and gym work and loved them. However, when I…

I had that happen to me twice. Once a patron (I'm a librarian) asked me when I'd had my baby; turns out she confused me with a co-worker who was heavily pregnant at the time, but it was still disturbing because apparently I looked post-partum. Then a couple of years ago another patron, an elderly woman, thought I was…

Congratulations! And proof that smart choices are what makes weight loss possible. Good luck with the rest!

This is a fantastic video! It totally kicks your butt and then some. Harder than 30 Day Shred, but I saw results faster, and your stamina builds very quickly. Just stick with it, even through the really tough parts, and you'll be amazed how quickly your body adapts.

I can tell you that very day I come into contact with people who are just MISERABLE, and they take it out on others and are snippy and gripe behind peoples' backs. I am comforted by 2 things: 1) no matter where they go, THEY can never escape their self-imposed misery (but you can!) 2) their behavior says far more about…

I found WebMD's discussion of the Master Cleanse diet pretty thorough, and thought this was especially interesting: "The Master Cleanse Diet is supposed to "release years of built-up waste in just 10 days, while your energy soars." Yet, experts point out, the liver already detoxifies the body. Further, there is no medical…

You are GORGEOUS!!!
