  • Hi! I just started doing couch to 5K, too! It can be tough going. What works for me is to repeat the last day of the week I'm having difficultly with, until I feel ready to tackle the next week. And yes, don't worry about speed. As for bras, I have this and it definitely works:…
  • Perhaps your job is playing a bigger role in your weight loss (or lack of) than you'd think. Last December I switched from a fairly sedentary job to one that is almost completely sedentary, and I immediately started putting on weight - the calorie difference had a greater impact than I would have thought. I've found it…
  • Paxil CR was the best drug I've ever used, but I put on 40 pounds with it. Lost a bit when I switched to Lexapro but then stalled. I started on Wellbutrin and LOVED it, except that when I would get anxious, it would increase the anxiety. Also had to take meds to sleep, because it's very activating. But I actually lost 20…
  • Here's a more thorough article from the LA Times that explains the meat in Taco Bell's products: http://articles.latimes.com/2011/feb/01/business/la-fi-taco-bell-20110201 What they serve is actually very common.... "In the lawsuit, Miles includes what appears to be a label from Taco Bell's raw meat mixture, which reads…
  • I gained about 40 pounds in a year on Paxil CR, but I loved it! Finally switched to Lexapro, and was able to lose about 30. Could not lose any more after a while, so I finally went off it and lost another 10 (still overweight, though). Wellbutrin helped me to lose another 20, but I finally had to go off that, as well, and…
  • I use Optimum Nutrition Whey protein powder (french vanilla ice cream is my favorite) and really like it. It mixes well and I can handle the taste (I blend it with plain almond milk, peanut butter, and ice). It's 120 calories, 3 grams of carbs, and 24 grams of protein per scoop. I bought it based on all the great reviews…
  • Lordy, Catholics are DEFINITELY allowed to drink! :drinker:  Wine is an important part of the Mass. I think more Christian religions allow alcohol consumption than forbid it, actually.
  • Truly... I've only ever attended Catholic schools (even for college and Master's), and never heard anyone turn down beer or whiskey or indicate that it's somehow wrong or incompatible with Catholic belief. As an American of Irish descent, I feel no shame in the potatoes/beer connection, but I can see how it might be…
  • YES, I have the same problem with Go Lean. It's not just gas, it's horrible all-day rumbling and stomach churning + gas. I've never had that kind of reaction to any food before, and that includes Fiber One items, which don't really affect me. I no longer eat any Kashi cereals; it was just too awful. I believe the actual…
  • It stands for "non-scale victory", meaning it's some sort of achievement (for example, inches lost, or finally fitting into a particular size) that isn't expressed as weight loss on the scale.
  • *waves* Hi! I used to make these egg "muffins" all the time and they're really easy; make 12 of them at once and you've got about 6 days worth of breakfast (I would eat 2 at once; they're not that big). Plus, you can add all sorts of your fav veggies and/or meats and switch them up. Bake, let them cool, put in baggies and…
  • I hope this turns out to be something that can easily be taken care of! Wishing you the best!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Speaking from experience, I don't think 4 pounds is that unusual when you have a bit to lose and you've been following your plan. If you were something like 20 pounds from your optimum weight, then 4 pounds in a week would be unusual.
  • I workout on a carpeted floor, sans shoes. When I walk or run outside, I wear my Merrell Pace barefoot shoes. They're great and allow me to run without any pain.

  • Yes! I have tried this as well as 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30 and No More Trouble Zones. BFBM is definitely harder than 30DS; it has much more cardio and is about 45-50 minutes (including warmup and cooldown); according to my Polar HRM, I was burning about 500 calories doing it. It was hard at first, but if you do it…
  • This article touches on some situations in which frozen *might* be better: http://ow.ly/6qwDP
  • Did it for 9/7, but had to skip it today due to an unexpected meetup.
  • Completed it yesterday (9/5) and today!
  • Your diary is locked to all but your friends... :)
  • What exact problems are you having?
  • I'm sorry to hear that, and I know how you feel. That was a big issue in my marriage, as well; it's so devastating and makes you feel incredibly lonely. The best advice is Dear Abby's: try to get him to see a counselor with you, and if he won't go, go by yourself. Best of luck!!!!
  • I'm a relatively new runner, as well. Or, I should say that I've just returned to it after years of not running! I also felt it in my calves and hamstrings when I started with the Merrells, so I just had to slow it down and ease into it. The minimalist shoes may not be right for you, but the great thing is that you're out…
  • I've never had any luck with Nikes, unfortunately; they never fit correctly in my heels. If you're looking for a minimalist shoe, I have the Merrell Pace and I LOVE them!!!! I had hip pain that I couldn't get rid of when I returned to running, and I have no pain with the Merrells, even though I used to wear stability shoes…
  • Eggs are a lifesaver! I hardboil a bunch and then have at least 2 for breakfast, or scramble 2 if I have the time, along with some lean bacon. I also like Fage 2% (Greek) yogurt; it has lots of protein and only 8g of carbs - I'll sometimes add an artificial sweetener to it if I'm having cravings. Chicken breast is another…
  • Would it still count if I did Jillian's Ripped in 30? It's very similar to 30DS, but I prefer it because I've already done 30DS. I definitely want to do that and C2K!!!
  • I absolutely second this!!! Wash your face and possibly try some anti-bacterial lotion (benzoyl peroxide gel, or something that works with your skin) immediately after exercising. I've found that my acne got a lot better when I stopped touching my face during the day, too.
  • My advice: DON'T GIVE UP. You'll see a dramatic increase in your endurance when you're consistent with it. The first week was hard for me; my legs were killing me and going up and down stairs was really painful. But that goes away and you'll eventually surprise yourself at how much you can accomplish!
