GoPro could make for some good blackmail material lol! What time is everyone showing up? We're all registered for 11:00, right? My friend and I are driving together but I would definitely like to be with a bigger group like last year lol! Safety in numbers, right? :D

This really crept up quickly - I can't believe it's next weekend!
-
I'm easy either way :) I hadn't been running at all so I issued myself a running challenge for the month of June. So far, so good :)
-
I'd be up for that too :)
-
Signed up too
-
I love "I'm on Daryl's team" :D And I'd be up for pretty much any time!
-
And, did you see, only 734 out of 2382 survived and you were one of them :D That's gotta feel good! I am totally in to do this race again :)

Calgary race weekend is really fun - great energy and races of all different lengths. This coming year is also its 50th anniversary so it should be extra fun - http://www.calgarymarathon.com/ Last summer I also completed a few of the "mud run" style races (Zombie Survivor, Mud Hero, Spartan Sprint). These were all 5-6K in…
-
I agree that the morning for the Spartan is definitely better. I ran in the afternoon this past summer and everything is super slick with mud (which makes things like rope climbing way harder!)

My availability is tied to when my husband is working but if I can get a sitter, then I can be more flexible. I also like the idea of a group run/hike (but I'm also happy with dinner/drinks/etc).
-
This race is fun too: http://www.mudhero.com/en-us/FindanEvent/Eventreddeer.aspx The obstacles were less physically challenging, but definitely got you dirtier lol!

Based on the recommendation of another Calgary mama, my husband and I just tried The Chopped Leaf in Royal Oak. It reminded me a bit of a more refined Subway. They provide nutritional info for their food and they were very accommodating with our little girl (special made a wrap for her that wasn't on the kids' menu). It's…
-
We should try and sign up for the same heat time - it's nice to have people to help you if you need it :) And, even if you miss an obstacle, you just have to do burpees instead (which isn't fun, but manageable lol).
-
Sprint refers to the distance and not to the speed that it's run at lol! Lots of people of all different fitness levels were racing when I did it this summer :D
-
I totally forgot that I posted this topic lol! I'm thinking I might go to the 9:45 on Monday if anyone is interested in going as well :)

Well, Paul just got back from the acute knee injury clinic. It wasn't great news :frown: His ACL repair is gone and they are recommending another repair as well as a high tibial osteotomy. He *may* return to skiing but he will not run again. They told him that, if he was 59 instead of 39, they would be talking knee…

Gah - I'd love to go but it's the same day as the Mud Hero (just outside Red Deer) and our kids will have already been with a sitter for 8 hours. I'm thinking I may have to try for next time...
-
Me  I'm running at 11:00. My friend, Laura, is running with me too. Also my hubby is running at 10:00 and then turning into a zombie at 12:00 lol!

Thanks everyone! It's nice to finally feel comfortable in my own skin after feeling like a stranger in my body for years... US/Canada size 20  and I'm now in a US/Canada size 4/6  As for my routine, I've been seeing a personal trainer twice a week for 16 months now. He does some cardio and a lot of…

I am 5'6" and I've been maintaining between 132-136 lbs for several months now. I just posted this thread today after pulling out my old skirt last night :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1017725-so-glad-i-kept-this-skirt
-
Yep  I've been maintaining my weight for several months now. I will miss a day tracking here or there but, for the most part, I still log all my food and exercise. Congrats on reaching your goal
-
I was 251.9 lbs at my highest weight (I'm 5'6") and, when I started using our treadmill, I would jog for a minute or two and then walk the same. I gradually increased my running intervals and decreased my walks. As I lost weight, my sessions also started to get longer. It's been about 16 months since I started running and…

I will also put in a vote for FitnessBlender: http://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender So many great workouts!

We have friends arriving that night but I'm not sure what time their flight gets in. If it's later in the evening, I'd love to join! I prefer Globefish but I'm honestly happy to eat at either (and Kinjo is closer to me)
-
Thanks
-
Congratulations - that's awesome! My first half-marathon is May 26th and I'm starting to get really excited for it
-
Sorry - I went on a two-week vacation right after posting this and wasn't checking the forum at all. I'm 5'6"
-
Today I had two hard-boiled eggs mashed with half an avocado, a little salt and sriracha hot sauce in half a whole wheat pita pocket. Super filling
-
My back might be my favourite part of me right now
-
At my highest weight, I was 252 lbs and wore a size 20. Today I weigh 136.5 lbs and I'm in a size 6  I did it all by logging what I ate and working out (hard) regularly. It took me roughly a year to do it. Here is another thread where I posted my "before" and "after" pics …
