  • I am also a scale addict... Sounds like a bunch of us need a 12- step program to wein us off the scale. I weigh every morning before and after I pee (funny sometimes to see how much the bladder holds). Usually when I get home from work and once again after I work out which is right before bed. I think I am going to try to…
  • LOL!!! Not sure about anyone else but the "my pee" part is what made me read the post in the first place!!!
  • Thank God the nearest Krispy Kremes is 45 min away!!! The maple bars are still calling to me. I must stay strong!!!
  • Good food for thought Peter. I have a hard time walking away from food on my plate at restaurants as well. I'm not a big leftover eater. My husband on the other hand, usually takes them for lunch, maybe I will think about that more often when I eat out. I get that tightness in my right shoulder as well. I call it my "data…
  • Hammbone, I am so ready to take this weekend on!
  • Deb- You can do whatever you put your mind to, I am sure of that! If you are ready to get rid of sugar, then do it. There are tons of alternatives and great recipes that don't include sugar. Our minds are a powerful thing! One day at a time girl!
  • I would love to see your celtic heart. I have one too! I drew it as my version of the Motherhood knot because I didn't like any that I had found.
  • TGIF!!! I had an amazing week- even with the cake on Wednesday. Starting weight this week was 212....today's weight...drum roll please... 207.9! I realize that most of that is becasue of the eating I did Memorial Day weekend but that's all in the past and I am ready to move forward!! My boss brought doughnuts in this…
  • Hello and welcome! Keep logging, drink your water, and keep moving!!! Good luck to you!!
  • I work out before bed, still a little dinner left in the system for energy... plus it helps me sleep better!
  • I have to agree, no rain running for me...I'm not much of a runner anyway, and I'm surely not going to get the motivation to do so in the rain. The sun actually came out today but the wind has been chilly, ick, chills ya to the bone. Nothing like a good workout to warm ya up though!!!
  • Kelly- I think that's great advice.
  • Have a great vacation Amanda! You will feel better after a get away and you should feel more rejuvenated and ready to take on your journey! I myself am terrified about this weekend as my dh and I are going to a wine and food event on Sunday for our anniversary...
  • I don't count gum, but I do count coffee and even log my diet Pepsi. I read once that 6 bites a day = 15 pounds over a year. How 'bout that last little chunk of cheese you pop in your mouth so you don't grate your knuckles? Or the "bite" of birthday cake at a party? How 'bout that lemonade from the neighbor kid's lemonade…
  • Already cheated yesterday ( cake a friend baked for me) but I had an obligatory tiny piece and gave the rest away... Am back on track today and looking forward to the rest of the month!
  • I did fairly well yesterday and it would have been excellent if it hadn't been for the slice of cake I was obligated to eat. When you receive an entire cake as a thank you from an 82 yr old woman you can't not have a piece. Anyway, did the BL cardio max level 1 last night and feel great. I LOVE that DVD.
  • I have no doubt that it is a great calorie burner but I think of little white shorts and polos. Trying to picture you in that!! Lol. Judging a book by its cover I say Basketball.
  • Welocme. I am actually recently back after several months of not logging in. Keeping track of what you eat is a huge eye opener and will give you an idea of what is a good day and what is out of control. Best wishes on your journey!

  • PNW!!! Home and always will be, wouldn't have it any other way!! Welcome to MFP! This is actually my first day back on the site after a little lapse. Keep recording...it will really open your eyes. Hey all you PNWers what are your goals, long and/or short?
  • Really tennis? You don't strike me as the tennis type?!
  • Vince, I know what you mean. I am actually back on this site after several months away. I was doing quite well then I got busy at home and work and quit logging in. I lost a little more while I was away but not losing enough. Getting a group together and/or making a connection with even just one person can be especially…
  • 3 for me! Daisy on my toe (18th b-day from my Mom), Tramp stamp ( got in college with friends), Heart Shaped Celtic Knot between my shoulder blades (My take on the Motherhood knot- for my daughter). I love them all, and as you all know they are addictive and I plan on more! I will send friend requests!
  • Monday weigh ins are axactly what I was looking for, I would love to join your group. I have a funky weight this week because of the holiday weekend so I suspect I will have a fairly significant weight loss this week, but here we go! Starting weight is 212 lbs. I will not cheat this week. I will work on water intake and…
  • Starting weight for June 212 lbs. I am actually hoping for 5 lbs this first week as I am coming off of a food filled Memorial Day weekend. My actual goal for June is 10lbs. What a great challenge! a monthly challenge is great anyone can have a good week but staying consistant monthly should keep everyone working hard! June…
  • I started this morning so I hope it's not too late to join your group. This is exactly the kind of motivation I came back to MFP for. Current weight is 212. Here's to NO CHEATING!
  • What a busy busy busy week. I forgot to weigh- in on Sunday and now its Thursday... I am taking a bye this week... I will weigh in on Sunday and in hopes of showing a loss after 2 weeks I will bust my bum until then.!!! Cheers ladies!!! ( I hope Kati's B-day cake doesn't attack, her party is on Saturday...) Randi
  • BUMP BUMP BUMP!!! Wow, this is very good stuff to know, and makes so much sense. I get this!!! Before when I dieted I was doing really well then I took it too far and was not eating hardly anything and quit losing and eventually gave up. I know now why I can have pizza once in a while and lose but eating salad everyday I…
  • My husband and I have been laying laminate floors in our living room. I haven't had time for working out this week but I walk at lunch (we thought the walk was a mile and a half but we GPSed it today and it is 1.7 miles, not too bad for guessing!!) to make up for not working out. It has been in the 90s so even just doing…
  • Walked down by the lake again today!!! Two days in a row and counting!!! We have decided it is about 1.5 miles... my friend will bring her GPS and figure it out tomorrow!!
  • I'm pretty sure I got in all of my water everyday last week. I drink a lot of water anyway, I like this new challenge. I have started walking at lunch some day so this challenge will keep me going. It's been in the upper 90s lately so having this challenge will keep me motivated to get out and walk even in the HEAT.…
