How did you hurt it? Where's the pain? As a long time veteran of back pain, I can tell you that you want to take it seriously when your back is screaming at you, and depending on how fresh the injury is, you really might want to just rest for a few days - sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear. Having said that,…

Lol, what doesn't taste great with a bottle of barbeque sauce poured on top of it? I'd eat wood chips if they were cooked in BBQ sauce! But how many calories does the sauce add? (I was assuming we were trying to come up with healthy recipes, although this one does sound very tasty!)

Sorry, I don't understand this... what fat? And basically, what you're really saying is 'no', since she has to compensate for every cup of coffee with another glass of water. So doesn't that mean that no, you can't count coffee toward your water intake? I guess I'm saying I disagree with you.

Yes, especially because it's decaf, but also yes even if it weren't. People drastically over-estimate the diuretic effect of caffeine.

Wow, nice going! You look great!

What are your goals? There's no right answer to the question without knowing what your goals are, and how close you already are to them.

Honestly, I think 160 is much higher than you really need to go, and that helps contribute to the dryness. Chicken breast has very little fat anyway (I believe some cultures actually refer to it as 'wood meat'), so unless you're very careful, it turns to cardboard. There's really no need to go much over 145 - basically,…

Or just as his dad? If the old dad isn't in his life, and he's still pretty young, that's natural - younger kids don't make the distinction, and why should they? Your dad is the guy who's there, with your family, being a dad. Being a dad is a set of behaviors, emotions, and responsibilities more than it's a fact of DNA…

I hate to say it, but stop buying crap food like popcorn and chips. It's a waste of money, and it's not good for anyone. I don't know what kind of cereal you're buying that they eat it all, but make sure it's something healthy like Mini-wheats, total, Fiber One, Kashi, etc. If they plow through that, well, at least they're…

It's my understanding that the only muscle that can handle being worked every day is calves, and I'm not even sure that's right. Muscles need recovery time, plain and simple. If you don't rest them, you'll get into a situation where you're over-training, and you'll do more harm than good.

A few thoughts... You said she brought your nephew up for vacation - seems like she's not in your neighborhood... so is it even practical based on distance? Also, if her ex/your brother is really that much out of his own son's life, then f* him. Seriously, who give's a *kitten* what he thinks. Having said that, yes, there…

Craigs list, $300 for a rack, a nice bench, an olympic bar, and a bunch of plates. Can't go wrong with that!!

Lots of people are afraid of deadlifts, squats, cleans, etc. They think that (A) they're just for power lifters, and (B) they're dangerous. I remember about 10 years ago I was one of them. I'm betting this guy is just not educated. He's learned this and that over the years, maybe has a subscription to Muscle & Fitness, and…

Stop eating bread/grains/starchy/sugary carbs. When I did that, the cravings went away in a few days.

I see balance in a holistic way.... I don't have 'food' balance and 'exercise' balance, etc. I either feel that I have balance or I don't. E.g., If I have that piece of pizza, is it going to actually make me feel like crap later, and keep me from wanting to go outside and enjoy the sunshine? Or by not having it, am I going…

Yes, I'm totally off bread/sugar/starchy carbs - basically, it's primal/paleo, but I do allow myself a little bit of dairy (a little skim milk in my protein shake, a little feta cheese on my salad). As far as cravings go, it has worked wonders. And I've lost 2.5lb over the past 2 weeks (more or less since about the time I…

Not a big deal either way, but the idea has become more intriguing over time.

My boss caught me trying to work out at my desk and ripped me a new *kitten*... that should count for something.

Oh come on, all guys do this... (don't they?)

Is the general consensus that the Body Media device will give you calories burned for weight training/resistance workouts?

Bigger portions is the easiest thing I can think of... Instead of making dinner/meals for 2, make them for 3-4 people, and he gets all the extra? Also I saw someone listed milk - yup, that's a good one. There's a thread/discussion around somewhere called AGOMAD, which stands for 'A Gallon Of Milk A Day.' And yes, more…

Salt and starchy carbs (bread, pasta, etc.) contribute to retaining water. So does creatine, if you're taking that.

I hardly ever eat PB since I swapped to almond butter. Better for you, though certainly not much (any?) lower in calories. I sometimes put half a serving in my protein shake, but that's about it. Great way to bump up my calories if I'm a little low on a given day, which has been happening more often.

Never mind, I think I answered my own question... is that a Korean flag patch on your arm?

I'm not familiar... can you compare that to a different style? (E.g., throwing, hard style-striking, etc.)
