Good question, I wondered that too. At my house, eating your protein and veggies is not optional. Anything else is. Otherwise they would only eat rice and dessert. Those stinkers.

A little OT, but when I was breastfeeding, the hate would come from women too. Why do women feel the need to judge other women's breasts, and what they do with them???

White short grain rice....and here I always thought it was a lower calorie choice compared to pasta. Now I'm learning to choose brown basmati rice and control my portions.

Congrats Bonnie! I had a similar experience today. My daughter's daycare teacher, who just got back from a two-month long holiday, could not believe how much weight I lost. I was so happy to tell her about MFP. :drinker:

I have PCOS too, and I'm trying a low gi diet. I feel pretty good on this diet. My energy level is better than ever. I plateaued for about 3 weeks not long ago, and was feeling pretty discouraged. I hate having to buy clothing that is cut to cover up troublesome spots. Those clothes are still ill-fitting, don't make me feel good, and aren't what I truly want to buy. Also, I don't want to walk into a trendy jean shop and be told they just don't have any sizes that fit me.

I love the idea of having a visual to go for. That little black dress of yours will be so motivating! I've been using my favorite belt as my success story. It's so fun to see the old, used-up notches on my belt, to track my progress. I can't wait to NEED to buy a new one. Good luck to you!
