I have to make myself take a day off. Being in the gym and being active has become part of my life. I usually workout with weights 4 days per week for 60 minutes. I also throw in 2-3 days of cardio, too. Bottom line, your body needs to recover and you should take a rest day at least once per week. I don't have a specific…

Never heard of them. I agree with the previous post...abs are created in the kitchen.

I work for a nuclear utility here in Raleigh, NC. I work in the corporate office and for the moment, I am in charge of reactor services and turbine maintenance during our refueling outages. In the near future (i.e. < 2 weeks), I will have a new job. But I can't say right now...it's a big secret.

Pizza...Digiorno Three meat pizza!. Ohhhh, I'm a bad boy. Blew my calorie count by 15 calories because of that damn pizza!

That is what this site is all about! Amazing transformation and you look amazing!

Raleigh, NC here! We have had enough snow for the year. We went over our annual average in December. Bring on spring!!!

I have a desk job, too. I get up at 4:30 am and workout for an hour before I go to work. Feels good to get it done first thing in the morning. The rest of the day is downhill from there.

I'm here to learn about nutrition so that I can better maintain my weight when I want and to lose when I want. I'm trying to get better at planning my meals, tracking my food intake and trying not to blow my calorie count in the evening at dinner.

Either they worked out for a longer period of time (i.e. > 40 minutes) or they "exagerated" their calories burned. If you had of worked out at the same rate for a full hour, you would have been around 650 calories burned in the hour. Today, I burned 763 calories in 62 min at an average heart rate of around 145 bpm. It…

One last thing. Heart Rate Monitors give you an estimate of the total number of calories you burn during a workout. HRMs and calorie burns are not an exact science.
-
There are different heart rate zones to work out in. If you look at your HRM you should see 'Light', 'Moderate', and 'Hard'. Depending upon which zone you are in will determine how many fat calories you burn. Let me try to give you an example. I'm 43 and if I calculate my Max HR it would be around 178 bpm. My resting HR is…

I'm not sure about the F6, but I have an F4 polar HRM. Your calorie burn doesn't sound that far off. When you first set up your HRM, you can usually set up your different heart rate zones: low, medium, and high. These zones are auto calulated on age and weight. If you workout in the lower zones, you will find you burn a…

As long as you are healthy, you will be fine. Just don't burn yourself out. If possible, you could work out 6 days a week. That would really pep up your metabolism.

January fitness goal: Bulk up and lift heavy for the next 4 weeks plus 2 days per week of cardio. Work on perfecting my diet and staying honest with it for the entire month. On a personal note, I want to get in a few dives this month. It's been too long....
-
Try this site: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calories.htm This will help you estimate the calories you burned when you are lifting weights. I use this to estimate mine. Hope this helps!
