  • yes it's possible but with slight changes. making sandwiches for the family, make your sandwich using 1 slice of whole wheat bread. making grits for the family, leave out the cheese and let everyone add it themselves. eggs are amazing! eat them. making chicken pot pie for the family - eat everything but the crust.…
  • well i decided to add your meal plan into my food diary just to see how many calories it really is. of course i don't know things like what kind of bread, what's in the chicken pot pie, how much grits, what kind of doritos, if it's brown or white rice (i went with brown) so i went with single portion sizes for everything.…
  • when you're on the go like that there's nothing wrong with grabbing a protein bar and having that as a snack until you get home. look for ones that are high in protein low in sugar. i can't really help you with smoothies as i don't drink a lot of them. what about adding chia seeds to your oatmeal - they have lots of fiber,…
  • i'm doing monument. it'll be my second time running it. my goal this year is to beat last year's times of 1:10 and that's running it. it's a great race. SO MUCH going on! lots and lots of music and SO MANY people out cheering you on - it's crazy fun. if you're walking it i would have good walking shoes, stretch before and…
  • i'm confused because you said you have no problems eating a burger or going to taco bell but you don't like meat? what kind of burgers are you eating? 400 calories is insanely low, even 700 calories is crazy low. how much weight are you trying to loose? how old are you? how tall are you? it's important to eat a healthy…
  • yup we all have bad runs from time to time. Races are a great way to keep you motivated. i try and get in one race a month. i ran my first half last year and mostly 5ks. this year i'm running two half marathons and more 10ks than 5s. it definitely keeps you going when you sign up for the races. oh and I highly recommend…
  • i do these before i run - they call them dynamic stretches. i would add a few to your other stretching. http://www.runnersworld.com/stretching/a-dynamic-routine
  • i vote for nope. i would also be very suspicious of a place that's pushing such a big weight loss in so little time. i also vote no because when they say use your pics for advertising it's for ANY advertising you have ZERO control over where they use your pic or how.
  • i used to get headaches everyday. started out of no where too. turned out to be the pill. once i went off it the headaches went away.
  • make sure you're doing dynamic stretches before. leg swings (front/back, side/side), lunges, bent leg swings out to the side. these will help warm up your muscles.
  • what's wrong with going for a walk outside. exercise doesn't have to be the gym, a dvd or youtube. if you're in a very cold climate i get the dvd but as the weather warms up go outside, walk, hike, play tennis, play basketball even if you can't do these things so what attempt it. attempt something. i work 9/5 job i bring…
  • the problem with using measuring cups is it's not always 100% accurate. we all measure things differently with them. food doesn't fit perfectly into measuring cups. gaps are formed when certain foods are measured with a measuring cup. i'm notorious for using measuring cups which is why i am always stuck on a plateau. does…
  • difficult to say went went "wrong". did you log your food? did you weigh your food? were you honest about what you were eating. were you eating 1200 calories then exercising and not eating back those calories? a MONTH is nothing. i didn't loose any weight for the first 3-4 weeks. if you don't have much to loose it takes…
  • i ran on the treadmill for 37 minutes. we just got a bunch of snow by VA standards so outside running is not an option right now.
  • why not take up boxing. you might find out you love it and not because you can take your frustrations out on the bag and pretend it's everyone who's bothering you that day's faces - including your soon to be FIL. lol congratulations on your upcoming wedding and yes planning it can be stressful. there's a lot that goes into…
  • definitely an individual thing - i can't eat before a workout. i have a light snack an hour or two before my workout. this is especially true when i'm going for a run. i definitely cannot eat before a run - my stomach turns inside out if i do.
  • tell your coworker if he/she joins you in burning 1600 calories a day everyday then you'll do it. better yet tell your coworker to zip it.
  • :( i'm sorry. :flowerforyou: hey i had a relative ask me that question to which i responded no i'm just fat but thanks for pointing it out. shut her right up. a rude question like that deserves a rude answer.
  • my morning snacks vary - today was a banana. yesterday, greek yogurt and a banana, the day before i didn't have a snack because i had a big breakfast. sometimes i'll have a protein bar, sometimes string cheese. last week i made my own trail mix of dried cranberries, slivered almonds, caramel bites, raisins and coconut…
  • okay so eat vegetarian foods tofu, you mentioned eating pizza eat pizza, eat sweet potatoes or just a plain ole white potato (since you eat french fries), whole wheat pasta, peanut butter, olive oil (for cooking purposes or dip pita bread in it), how about no sugar cereals. you're only hurting yourself long term by eating…
  • who says anything about eating junk food. eggs, turkey, hummus, fish, tuna, red meat, cheese, fruits, veggies, beans all these are good for you and will up your calorie intake which you need if you are exercising like you say you are.
  • seeing as you've only logged 2 days (or that's all i saw and i went back 1.5 weeks) what i see is someone not eating. 800 calories, 900 calories. you need to eat more. someone mentioned maybe you're over estimating your calories eaten i hope this is not true. why have a cheat day so high? why not just spread those cheat…
  • buy a cheap food scale then register for a good food scale. think about it like this if an athlete only puts in 50% effort they are only going to get 50% results sadly that's what you are doing. yes it's a pain in he *kitten* to measure everything and yes it's time consuming but you can't expect 100% results if you are…
  • what are you putting the protein powder in? i don't see anything logged for that unless you're just having a spoonful or you're having it with water - i don't use protein powders so not sure. the balsamic rice are you measuring dry or is that cooked? 1/4 cup cooked vs. dry is a big difference. little things like this make…
  • I'd happily love to weigh 146. how much can you loose in 6 months? idk. how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood
  • if there is a sidewalk i'll run on that but the majority of the roads i run on do not have sidewalks so i have no choice but to run in the street and because i run in the street i do not listen to music while i'm running. it's just me and the road.
  • ^^^ this - i'd rather not run in 0 degrees F but i will except if it's icy then treadmill it is.
  • if you really are burning 1000 calories a day and based on your food diary you're eating around 1200-1500 and not eating back your exercise calories i would say you are not eating enough. if your 1000 exercise calories is accurate you're netting around 200-500 calories a day which is not enough to sustain a healthy…
  • as long as you're not wearing the chicken skin it's not really bad. now if you decide to wear it then yes it's bad. really really bad.
